I like how this DBX season has subverted expectations in two different ways, both by not being shit and by giving us a single episode where my review of it was longer than yours for once.
This is one of the best DBX seasons in a while. Donald vs Daffy, Palpatine vs Xehanort and Goomba v Koopa 2 were my favorites. And Goomba vs 2 especially was so amazing legitimately one of the funnest sprite animations I’ve seen. Great to see how far the team has come.
Ben 10 vs GL is still Garbage. Which is why Goomba vs Koopa 2 is a 9.5/10 bc too many references to that abysmal fight. I say 10/10 is Apocalypse vs Black Adam
@@susragejr477 They could’ve explained why Hal beats Alien X a lot better which would’ve stopped Kuro/The Ink Tank from rallying a crowd and not having the most disliked Death Battle of all time.
I remember just watching each new DBX only out of curiosity at the beginning, but after Donald vs Daffy and Zuko vs Roy, I was immediately invested, and Goomba vs Koopa 2 was incredible
One thing that I loved about Goomba Vs Koopa 2 is that it bought something back that I missed, and that is multiple music tracks. I think that multiple pieces of music can be used for phases(Like in Hulk Vs Doomsday, where one music shows Hulk in his normal form and one in his World Breaker form. There's also Iron Man Vs Lex Luthor, where the final music track sounds hopeful and epic which indicates Tony Stark finally overpowering Lex). The only one I could think of that does this multiple phases in one music track well is Goro Vs Machamp.
As I explained in a pretty long comment in Biff Weed's video, season 6 is my favourite DBX season. The fight animations were more consistently good, the analysis segments were consistently enjoyable, I liked seeing new co-hosts with every episode and I also liked the continuity between the episodes. The analysis segments in seasons 4 and 5 weren't bad, but they felt more like a response to people who didn't know what "No research" means, but in season 6 the analysis segments were creative and unique and made me feel excited for what they would do next time. Yeah, I really enjoyed DBX season 6.
3:56 Ness also uses a PSI Confusion move to halt sans, and make him unable to fight. I do feel the fight being short was because...well, not much you could do for a lengthy sans fight (save for Bill in OMM, since sans shouldn't be in VS battles anyway.) sans fights would usually end fast, be it due to sans ridiculous attacks, or the other being able to hit sans just once But they still could've done more than what they did..atleast let the Skeleton TALK
Definitely one of my favourite seasons, seeing as it had 3 out of my top 10 favourite DBX episodes of all time. Normally DBX just feels like a mediocre distraction from Death Battle, a sort of worse OMM, but this season showed that, when done right, DBX can actually rival DB in quality.
I honestly just thought I'd just be using the DBX season to fill the season break, but I'll be damned if they didn't catch me off guard. While the sound design is pretty hit or miss, if even that, at their best, the scale and spectacle really breathed life into these battles, and the creativity makes them more fun to watch than a few combo strings or flying bricks. Plus, the co-host experiment made the analysis less of a slog for characters I already knew. This is a good sign for the rest of season 8.

So in Ryu vs Naruto in the part where Naruto "lands" the double rasenshurikan, if you pay really close attention you can see a black figure rise from the impact straight up. This is most likely Ryu dodging the attack
This is the only memorable DBX season ever tbh, some very awesome episodes with my favorites being Goomba vs Koopa 2 (10/10), Donald vs Daffy (9/10), Zuko vs Roy (9/10), Black adam vs Apocalypse (8.5/10), and Palpatine vs Xehanort (8/10). Some of these episodes were straight up better than some of the Death Battles this season, hell Goomba vs Koopa 2 outshined most of this season's sprite animation and Zuko vs Roy made up for how awful Zuko vs Todoroki was. Will of the Drill at the end was a nice touch.

Here’s my top 3 favorites for this season. 1. Between either Daffy Duck vs Donald Duck or Koopa vs Goomba. 2. Palpatine vs Xenahort. 3. Not really sure,but probably Apocalpyse vs Adam since that was pretty much the only other DBX more than decent or average.
Not super relevant for this video, but I remembered on another video that Nemesis mentioned not liking a lot of matchups for Ridley. After brainstorming, I'd like to get an opinion on Ridley vs. King K.Rool: Both are reptilian pirate captains that are arch nemisis to Nintendo characters (Samus and DK) that also featured in Retro Studio titles (Prime Series and DKC). Both go after series McGuffins (Metroids and DK's banana hoard), are famously hard to keep down, and are deceptively intelligent for their appearance (Ridley is a battle genius and war general, while K.Rool has made several advanced machines across his series. They were also both highly requested characters for Smash that finally got in in Smash Ultimate. Without reading much into it, I think it could be fairly close, with K.Rool scaling to DK and Ridley scaling to Samus.
Here's my ranking of this season. 9. Ness vs. Sans 4/10 I don't know why, but this episode felt kind of spiteful towards Ness, he barely lands any hits on Sans while Sans dominates him, Ness doesn't even show off most of his abilities. Sans's ending is brutal with him stealing Ness's heart. Ness on the other hand lands a home run on Sans in his ending and that's it, would have been better if he used the PK Starstorm and the last star hits Sans, since he only needs one hit. Analysis saves this one and like Gaara vs. Toph, Boomstick sums up my feelings in the analysis. 8. Vegito vs. Gogeta 5/10 This fight was average, if this was an actual DBZ episode, I'd expect this is how it would go down. Though it is strange that Goku and Vegeta are fighting another Goku and Vegeta. The action is there, but I'm not feeling it. Both fusions going through space and time was the highlight. In the end, All I can say is "Man, this Dragon Ball DBX sure does exist, doesn't it?" I'll just play Raging Blast if I want to see this fight play out. 7. Naruto vs. Ryu 6/10 Poor Ryu, he just can't catch a break on Death Battle, can he? First he loses to Hiryu and now he has to fight Naruto? And for some reason it's Naruto as the Hokage in Boruto rather than Shippuden Naruto? Overall, this fight wasn't that memorable. Ryu is somehow able to keep up with Naruto in Nine Tails mode, then he dies to a regular Rasengan in Naruto's ending. Ryu's ending is better, but he cuts through 5 Rasegans and Naruto ends up like Zits when the Battletoad fought Leonardo. 6. Sailor Mercury vs. Blue Ranger 7/10 This was a nice fight between two blue geniuses of two groups of teens fighting to save the planet. Ami and Billy got to show off their abilities during this fight and it leads to some good finishes. Billy's was good, stabbing Ami in the back with the Power Lance and flinging her into a classic explosion, which a Power Ranger victory wouldn't be complete without. Ami's ending was more brutal where she traps Billy into a Bubble and pops him. Good fight. 5. Zuko vs. Roy 7/10 Leading from a fight with water to a fight with fire, Prince Zuko and Colonel Mustang put on quite a show. I was worried when I saw that they were using the same pseudo JUS sprites from Zuko's fight with Todoroki, but this one proved me wrong, the effects were really well done here, as both got to show off their abilities. Zuko's ending was alright, he pulls out his sword and slices Roy into pieces, then he just leaves, nothing special. But Roy's was vicious, it's a nice reference to the Lust fight in FMA Brotherhood, though Zuko's limbs popping off one by one looks silly, though done better than Dr. Strange. Overall, good show. 4. Palpatine vs. Xehonart 8/10 The SFM team does it again. I was hoping that we would get a Cell fight this season since he does show up as the co-host in the analysis, and he was fun. I like how he dresses up the Ringmaster as Kermit, that was funny, I also expected a reference to Spock since Xehonart was voiced by Leonard Nimoy. Fight's alright though. Both combatants did really good here. Liam as Palpatine was good, but is that how Xehonart sounds? I expected him to sound like an Elderly Spock, but I'm not really familiar with his voice, but I guess it fits him. Good episode, hoping for another SFM DBX. 3. Apocalypse vs. Black Adam Hey, it's Biff Weed Marvel vs. DC fight. This was a great matchup, both of these two got to show off their powers and both were handled very well. Apocalypse's ending was mixed, on one hand, Apocalypse using an opportunity to use Black Adam's power against him was well done, only leading to an off screen finish. Black Adam's on the other hand was brutal, tearing Apocalypse limb from limb, even though they say he can regenerate from them, oops. Overall, great episode. 2. Donald vs. Daffy This was a fun matchup, this one felt like a Looney Tunes short. I like some references to Duck Amuck, other Disney and Looney Tunes Ducks coming in spiced up the match and Geese and the Untiled Goose Game Goose cameos were funny. Daffy's ending with the Duck Hunt Dog and Bugs saying "Ain't I a stinker?" was great. Donald's was good as well. Overall, amazing episode. 1. Goomba vs. Koopa 2 Why? Why is this matchup so awesome? This one really went above and beyond in terms of creativity in this one. This one really went insane, and it's a rematch from season 1, blowing the original out of the water. You'll just have to see it for yourself. Truly one of the best DBX's of all time.
So Nemesis has an OC now. Went the Raccoonbro VA route huh? Anyway, the main issue with this season was the sound designs because otherwise, I found almost all episodes to be really solid But still, they went ALL OUT on the chad rematch and I love it
Palatine vs Xehanort was favorite, I just loved the fight so much (I think I skipped the analysis cause I just wanted to see funny Palatine vs funny bald man.
Here is my retrospective of DBX Season 6: Gogeta vs Vegito: 9/10 Sans vs Ness: 5/10 Naruto vs Ryu: 5/10 Donald Duck vs Daffy Duck: 10/10 Blue Ranger vs Sailor Mercury: 6/10 Apocalypse vs Black Adam: 8/10 Zuko vs Roy: 8/10 Palpatine vs Xenahort: 7/10 Goomba vs Koopa 2: 10/10. Overall, Season 6 of DBX gets a 9/10, easily the best DBX season.
Goomba vs Koopa 2 was so stupid, and I LOVED it! Every other episode was fine. I mean, Palpatine vs Xehanort was pretty good, and I'm salty that Sans of all people was Ness' opponent. And I had just forgotten about that fucking Game Theory too. I mean, I'm happy that Sans won, even though it was basically a no-brainer when a fight is decided by popularity, but why couldn't it have been Frisk? That would have made a ton more sense than this matchup which relies only on one the worst episodes of Game Theory, second only to Mario is Mental. Whatever, maybe they'll do an actual Death Battle of Frisk vs Ness and give Sans a much better opponent in the future. Spoiler alert. Frisk beats Ness. Don't @ me.

But i don't know man the scene is really weird and it's not even clear if they meant to use the metallic armor in this scene or it was just a coincidence
My problem with Naruto vs Ryu is that it's not a good match, I mean of course everyone will be voting for Naruto and even if it's not base on voting of course Naruto would indeed destroy Ryu. They could have just put Ryu up against Strider Hiryu again

idk if you can really give 4/10 because ness didn't do much. i mean, it's the entire point of sans's fight in undertale to run and miss and die all the time until you finally get that one hit. meanwhile sans throws a bunch of shit at you to keep you on your toes regardless of whose turn it is. it makes sense that ness would be running around while getting shit thrown at him and getting thrown around himself as well. i do agree that only using the bat and like 3 psychic powers was a little boring, but i don't think that 4/10 is a fair grade. besides, 30 seconds against sans is impressive for a first try.
This season of DBX: ...... Eh. I barely remember these fights, and some of the fights I've already seen done. Daffy vs Donald DBX wasn't as good as the Multiverse Match (Only thing DBX did better was the Donald Voice), Gogeta vs Vegito has shitty sprites, and I hate they used 4 and Blue Gogeta, pick one or the other, don't use both, Xehanort vs Palpy as a DBX was fine (I'm REALLY glad the fight wasn't JUST Star Wars quotes, looking at you Obi-Wan), but the fight should have been a DB, Sailor Mercury vs Blue Ranger is the only other fight I remember (USE SOMETHING BESIDES MIGHTY MORPHIN GODDAMN IT!!!) and it was eh, and the season finale was WAAAY too over the top for me. A little over the topness is fine, but its too much Lastly: Still hate that this show has analysis, still hate Ringmaster, he needs to go, overall analysis portions in zero research fight are a waste of time.
Dang, I really *hate* how Biff and Nemesis keeps smiling over the references of the *Trainwreak that's Ben 10 vs GL* Kinda why Goomba vs Koopa 2 is a 9.5 out of 10. But Apocalypse vs Black Adam is a 10/10
