Tier list for the characters in the Saiyan Saga of DBZ. Song: Mo Stacks / Globalize / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com Chapters: 00:00 Intro 0:17 Tier List 23:18 Outro
Bro i fully agree with the Raditz argument. Everyone calls him trash... Because they are told too. They call him trash because Vegeta calls him garbage for the story... Which does in fact make him a great character. And he absolutely bridged that gap between DB and DBZ beautifully. This channel is criminally underexposed and based as they come On another note i think Yamcha deserves a tier increase because he did what you did say he did but i think his role also is to show the progress from the DB to DBZ realm and help solidify the power scaling range, once being a formidable opponent to hopeless fodder. Also i think if(hard *if* you seem pretty set in your mind) you read the *I was reincarnated as Yamcha* manga, you might see him in a different light. It made me gain a great deal of respect for him tbh and i was in the same boat as you for sure before i read it by the off chance (i never would have by choice), i definitely changed my mind about him. Would love to hear your thoughts on this and if you have read it or not... Still think this channel is GOATed tier tho btw
I think the video makes a good point that Yamcha was blustering. He was putting on a brave face, but he wasn't locked in. And it cost him. I don't think a self destructing enemy would be so foreign to the Dragon Ball world.
19:45 with the tail, Goku actually explains while holding Raditz in the full nelson, that if forced to, he can cut off his own tail to save himself. It's very much implied that Raditz was feigning defeat as bait, luring Piccolo to fire the Makankosappo, so he could dodge. It's only stated in the manga, not the anime to my knowledge, which is probably one of the reasons why it doesn't get noticed often. I will play devils advocate with Yamcha, that he also makes sure to go ahead of Krillin, citing that unlike him, he's already died once (back when they believed they could only resurrect people with the dragon balls a single time). Despite his cocky arrogance, there's some awareness to the dangers he's putting himself in. And if Krillin had died to that kamikaze attack, there's no way I can see them winning in the fight against Vegeta. ...Granted it's kind of sad his most useful action is keeping more useful characters alive so they can contribute to the fight, but then could say the same about anyone that didn't participate in the fight against Vegeta. Also big props to Nappa. Not to be rude but I think it's sort of lost on some of the later writers of Super, as to why Nappas fight against the Z fighters was so much better than later fights against Saganbo or Tagoma/Ginyu in Tagomas body, despite the beats of the fight being the same. Besides Nappa having a distinct personality to him, and the stakes present of irreversible death, the fight at least gave every Z Fighter the chance to do something. And the holes in the guys intelligence paved the way for the extremely remote chance of victory through outsmarting him. He didn't just break like a twig when Goku showed up either, it took a Kaioken to really put him down for good, something Goku wanted to reserve the use of as much as possible. His actions in the fight obviously were also a huge catalyst for the next arc; it's cool how all three Saiyans actions had consequences.
You’re so right about Nappa with the holes in his intelligence giving the Z fighters a chance. It really did make it super enjoyable to watch. You get the feeling that it’s ALMOST hopeless but not fully
To be honest Grams Baba for me would be Goated. She illegally streamed the PPV of a Fight which will be talked about for Centuries. Saved the entire Squad the Money.💯🏆 Krillin is the realest one. He never bitched out from Anyone and essentially always takes one for the Team. Piccolo man no comment, if i had to describe him with one word that would be "Loyalty". Never sells out the Gang and even shows the most Human actions in dire Situations. Nappa and Raditz had one of the biggest Potenials ever. To be fair they would be great Addition to the Z Team but i get it having to much Saiyans in the Team would ruin the Show.
Yashirobe doing the most steve kerr performance on that fight everyone hoping goku to take the shot but the fatman does it best clutch moment at the series i totally agree
Yeah agree on raditz. He did so much in his short time that most villains would wish they could do half of. I like to think of the raditz fight as less then start of Z and more the end of og as we went though the entire life of goku and his death and revival was basically the revamp of db into dbz. Honestly I'd drop chaotsu to trash. He literally didn't do anything. Yamcha dies to a sneak attack but it took a saibamen out so it was a net gain while chaotsu did nothing
@@SensibleSaiyan you can just do the next tier list he appears in like android saga as I don't think he did anything in the namek saga. Tien even said how he wouldn't help so in canon he was called trash.
@@SensibleSaiyanhe lost his one on screen fight to Krillin. Was killed by Piccolo and Nappa. Didn't fight a Saibamen, ran from Guldo in a filler fight, and stopped training after Namek. Chiatzou is a tier below trash, he's that liquid at the bottom of your garbage can that you wipe up but it still stinks
Yamcha did put in results. He absolutely clapped that Saibaman he just wasn’t expecting the Kamikaze, which in his defence neither did Nappa, the only difference is that Nappa was strong enough to survive Chaotzu's explosion, but he was absolutely caught lacking in the exact same way. He was being mad cocky but at least he put his life on the line before Krillen's because he knew if krillen got clapped there was no coming back for him.
@@SensibleSaiyan Yamcha volunteering to fight first and also volunteering to take all the Saibamen at once should mean something, though. And anyway! If you give whatshername from Snake Way a higher tier, then Yamcha’s exploded body at LEAST deserves that!
I think the video makes a good point that Yamcha was blustering. He put on a brave face, but he wasn't locked in. A self-destructing enemy isn't so unusual, or a last ditch attack or something, for Yamcha to have had his guard so low. I think he definitely played his role, but he also definitely came off as a chump for it.
Vegeta gave such a otherworldy vibe too, being the royal prince of a thriving warrior planet with formidable space warriors who fill the role of freaking pirates. Terrorizing the universe because they were in a growing phase of thier development. Freiza was dead right to be afraid of thier progression because one day they would recognize the error of thier ways and surely repent for serving such a ruthless tyrant by fear. It would have been a epic rise up moment like Bugs Life when they realized the Ants were stronger than the grasshoppers... Except they themselves were the grasshoppers. But i think it overall took them far too long to realize the error of thier ways and Beerus came to collect that rent. They paid their dues though as Goku said and out of the wake of thiee devastation, a seed was shot out into space, a branch to outgrow the entire tree and be the best of them. To singlehandedly atone them for thier sins and at the same time avenge thier life of servitude and untimely demise. I think had they rose up and stood up to Freiza, whether they unlikely survived or not (maybe they would have had a better plan and lived to fight another day), Beerus would have gave them a second chance to see where thier growth would take them... Love the bible verse at the end. Byfar my favorite part of this channel. Keep being awesome
Yamcha got robbed so bad. Prior to him being "cocky", he took Krillin's spot in the figth since he couldn't be revived with the dragonballs, an then he was trying to ligthen up the general mood of the team, he knew just as much as everyone that they had no chance until Goku arrived. I think that putting his life on the line for a friend speaks volumes of him. He later puts a great fight, and gets caught off guard because of that.
I like Saiyan saga Chi chi, her reaction with Gohan and Goku made sense to me. She hasn’t seen her 4 year old son in a year after hearing he got kidnapped by a demon. Completely valid of you ask me
It’s normal that she was more concerned about her son, but she took a dump on Goku. Even hours after she got confirmation that Gohan was good, she still didn’t even acknowledge him
Krillin is totally goated for having the balls to actually attempt to end Vegeta Edit: I really thought Yajirobe would be in Great tier but GOATed works for this saga
The Best Call Was Krillin Being In GOAT Tier , Hands Down, Brother came through in a clutch MULTIPLE TIMES .. Same as in The Namek Saga , He's Definitely a Link between all his Teammates , Wherever He's supporting someone or carrying someone, He just blends it PERFECTLY ..
@@SensibleSaiyan Bro Definitely was on Heavyweight Status untill that , Hey it worked out in the long run tho , But it was a weird slip on his Character, Especially if you didn't know they was taking his arc in that direction ..
@@SensibleSaiyan For real, Krillen was the man in the Saiyen Saga and Frieza Saga. But after destroying that remote, he went to the dumpster. I expect selling like that from Vegeta.
I’d give one argument in favor of yamacha’s shall we say optimism. He was there to give them a sense of hope. A ra ra speech. He did it by being a cocky prick, but I think that was his intention.
Yamcha wasn't as cocky as you think; he chose to fight the Saibamen before Krillin because Krillin had already died once, so couldn't be wished back if something happened. He took one for his friend, that warrants some respect.
I only disagree with Chichi because, it needs some consideration to what happened from her point of view. In my opinion, she's great overall, but good in this saga. Remember, one year ago, Goku goes to see his friends she doesn't like. Goku's dead. Gohan's kidnapped by the freaking vilain Piccolo still was at that time. And what she sees is both of them involved in the helliest warzone of DB at that time. She thinks and acts how we expect from the ultra protective mother she is. She takes care of her son first with a lot of a resentments towards Goku in a typical female style. Toriyama's Ze Goat, definitely. Great vid, anyway.
We need a Goku & Piccolo vs Radditz fight analysis. Also Vegeta belongs in the trash, dude lost to a cripple, a human 100x weaker than him, a fat guy with a sword and a child. Even the Saibamen and Radditz, heck even the farmer did better.
Yamcha is good because seeing some cocky jackass get the smirk wiped off their face will never not be fun even when it is a good guy. It is a good dopamine hit whether it is Vegeta geting clocked in the face in the same saga or Mr. Satan getting cosigned into a mountain by the back of Cell's hand. It is the same kind of dopamine hit you get from watching cowardly or timid characters like Gohan Krillmaster and Yajirobe step up. Feels good man.
