After a few years break from DBZA, I decided to boot it up again and give the series another go and man - I did not realize how many mannerisms, quotes/sayings and other little quirks that I picked up from the show. I'd hear certain lines or see characters do something and I was like "Oh shit, that's where I got it from". It's clear DBZA made such a huge and lasting impression on my life. I'm glad my brother got me into watching it back in 2008.
I didn't stay watching DBZA until they started doing Cell, but same as you there is a lot of hidden little quotes I still say as well. If anyone watched Red Vs Blue back in the day, same with that. So much quotable GOLD in these shows!
The "Gohan, you're a good kid." line always stuck out to me as so appropriate in the moment. Being an actual bastard to my father's side of the family, it hit home hard.
I was surprised when I found out that she voices I-No in Guilty Gear Strive. Legit never noticed - which just shows how good of a voice actress she is.
@@NurseValentineSG Oh yeah I still remember when Strive was first getting the dub VAs announced & I saw Amber's name on I-No & went "wait WHAT". Man she fucking nailed that role.
TFS has meant so much to me over the years. Whether DBZA, TFSplays, or anything else, I've had a lot of rough times, and you've gotten me through it all. Thank you TFS for the smiles and laughs I've needed for so many years
I hope they freaking do, because this stuff has single handedly driven me to find out about dragon ball. I'd be uninterested otherwise. And they did years of work, this isn't some lazy reaction video channel where they just upload copyrighted works and go "aha ha" every once in a while to make it not just a repost of someone else's work. They did voices, wrote jokes, did editing and rewrites, composed entirely new scenes, and it is absolutely a work of satire and parody which should be protected speech. Japan doesn't see it that way, but these guys deserve to get paid.
Missed opportunity to comment on how Cells intro is so creepy, then have Lani say "Man am I glad Cell is only in the show and not here..." Then from off screen: "Bum bum bum bum bum bum bummmmm.... Mr Sandmaaaaan"
Man, the end of an era. Even when revisited, it still hurts to know that DBZA is no more. But it was fun while it lasted and I am eternally grateful for it.
43:59 SO sad they cut that quick line from the review. 18's "*sigh*... Yup." is one of my FAVOURITE deliveries in the series, even though it's so small and subtle. Always glad to see behind-the-scenes stuff and learn more about the thought behind the series. Thanks again, guys!
When Vegeta thinks "that tactical shit is getting really old", I like to imagine this is from the vegeta that used to raid planets under frieza, getting frustrated when facing non upfront battles, like it's the worst way to find any challenge in battle
"Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.” - some guy who wrote stories. You guys are all three. Be proud of what you have given to the world.
DBZA is the one show I watch not only once a year but multiple times every year. Having these commentaries to look forward to for the last year has helped me relive the love I have for this series and these creators. I know you've moved on and Buu Bits will be the closest we'll get to a season 4 and I've made peace with that, but having more to look forward to would be the greatest gift I could ever receive
Thank you, Four Star Bento, for liking my comment paying homage to Chris Ayres. It's the first time which I'll cherish for the rest of my life. Same with all the amazing voice actor's work.
This was fun while it lasted and again thank you Scott, nick and Taka, @MasakoX, and the TFS team for bringing so many memories of laughter, tears, and cringe only for season 1 but it was still funny and Scott I can’t say how much I appreciate and admire the work you put in to doing DBZA and other projects like HEFL, The dragon shorts, the Buu shorts, and Hellsing abridge. Thank all of you for working on this and for inspiring me and my friends to want to start voice acting (even tho I’m not good at it but everyone has a start)
This was such a humbling experience for me. I had no idea just how much grace and gratitude you guys have for your viewer how much you appreciate us and how thankful you guys are. Thank you for the mutual feelings. 😊😊
Ya'll are the best and deserve the praise and awards. If ya'll haven't already, you're trajectory has you moving into your own prpductions and media in the world. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with.
God, it feels like DBZA is ending all over again. It's so bittersweet. I adore the show, watch it over and over. I've even seen the commentaries like 3 times lmao
Honestly, i have loved watching this commentary. There are things i didn't even notice after watching so many times. I also loved hearing about some things that went down behind the scenes, Tysm for the memories
You guys are 2 of thee best voice artists ive ever, ever heard. Your whole team through the years is unbelievably talented. I. So glad i got to go through the dbz abridged as you was putting it out haha jesus i was so young when i started watching you guys ❤
Dear TFS, i am a huge dragon ball fan, and I've been using the series to cope for a WHILE now, and descovering this channel has helped me out creatively and mentally, so i really would love to thank you guys and i hope to see more of your content in the future :)
52:51 "dj sexadillionaire" is of course chris sabat, these two would never admit it out of fear of getting him in trouble cause he's not supposed to be working with them 😂
Saying in any way that Vegeta is a better father or husband than Goku is something you can certainly say. You're wrong if you do, but you can say it. Y'know, I have my own many problems with DBZA, but I'd never deny your team the credit and praise in both your growth and the joy you brought me with your work.
Honestly DBZA might just be the most rewatchable show I've ever seen. Like you could wake me up in the middle of the night for an episode of 30 Rock or Arrested Development and I'd be happy too. But I could watch an episode of dbza and say to myself "what if I watch it again though?"
I dont knoe what id of done without this channel in my life helping me through allthe rough patches. Ivd realy needed this comedy and paraody of my fav show in my life
I actually got the chance to meet Amber Lee Connors at a convention here in Erie. At the time I didn't even realize that she voiced 18 in DBZA. Now... If I ever meet her again I really need to tell her just how much that means to me!
59:58 - I remember that moment like yesterday. I can't believe we have watched commentaries since somewhere last year. And now the commentary of the main series is sadly over. That's sick. It's more insane how quick the time goes. Such is life. Anyways, a Merry Christmas and Happy f***** New Year guys! Wish you the best of luck as we enter 2024. You have brought us so much joy and laughter all these 15 years. It's hard to describe how much it has helped your fans. I hope you keep your bright heads up and keep doing what you guys love. Cheers!
@59:58 This is still one of my favorite jokes during the commentaries. Scott looks like he’s trying to be super happy, but then Nick does an entirely different joke and they both just start screaming in terror.
Any appreciation you guys can receive is not enough. I am not kidding, I have watched abridged atleast 10 times and each time I understand a new joke. It sooo gooooood!!! Thank you so much!!!
This is crazy I forgot how 🤔 long since i finish seen the seasons and here we are again with your commentaries and I still laugh as hard as I did the first time I saw DBZA you guys are the best wish this go for a longer run possible feature dragon ball super new seasons I know asking alot but I'm sure alot fans feel the same ❤. Love, best wishes a big thank you Team 4 🌟 you have gave our life grate laughter, joy and excitement with this series thanks 😊 ❤️ 🎉 👑 .
Yeah second to what a lot of people say. This was an amazing series. I think It first got introduced in like episode 20 something. And I quickly binged watched it. (Yes episode 1 was rough, but still funny and since I knew it got good later.. it was never an issue) I was going through a rough period at the time. And it was really difficult to laugh at things. But this was something I just so looked forward to. It was one of the few things. And it helped give my mind a needed break. I've very much enjoyed watching your commentaries. Thanks so much for doing this!
I like to think when Piccolo was flying to the Lookout, Kami, using telepathy, was like “Hmmm, wonder what caused Piccolo to go off like th- OH MY ME!”
I may only be a year older than the series but goddamn this is probably my favorite series of all time! I almost wish I could have had the anticipation of waiting for the next episode to come out but when I saw the Buu bits being released I was so hyped to see it continue. I can’t wait to see if tfs will continue HFIL and the Dragon Shortz!
it was nice to watch dbza i remember when i was little watching it and im glad its still around even know we never got the buu saga im still happy i got to watch it
I wish you guys had mentioned my favorite dodge scene. "Gero: Why is dodging a subroutine? IT'S NOT THAT COMPLEX!" *Piccolo glances back at Gohan* "Gohan: What? WHAT?!"
I know you guys aren’t going to do it but your fan base is strong and we love DBZA so much you could make season 4 five years later and pick up right where u left off getting 12 mil per episode I still go back and binge watch dbza
Lani, my comment on the other channel was uncalled for. Id like to apologize for letting my friend be the devil on my shoulder and criticize TFS so harshly. You guys do what you can when you can, and I should appreciate what is given as DBZA as my introduction to anime and dbz as a whole. For someone creating content through anime as an outlet, it makes me a hypocrite, and I shouldn't do that. So I hope you see this, and know it comes from a genuine place as a long time viewer that I was wrong.
In all honesty I've already forgotten whatever you may have previously said. So we're cool 🤟 It takes good character to apologize when you feel like you've done wrong though, so good on ya for that 😁
