Thank you for this session. I want to ask does CCS1 and CCS2 has the same communication protocol? If yes why we don’t have adapter from CCS2 to CCS1 and CCS1 to CCS2 ?
CCS1 and CCS2 use the same communication on control pilot CP. The two plugs are used in two geographically different regions (e.g., CCS1 in USA,Japan and CCS2 in many EU countries), so you will not normally find CCS1 and CCS2 plugs in the same region. Hence, there has been no major demand for adapters to convert between each other.
Gautham Ram the problem is in Egypt the country protocol is the European protocol CCS2 and the government allowed to import used EVS from any country and most of used cars we have here are American and CCS1 so we can’t charge by the available CCS2 chargers: There’s a company called SETEC do this adapter but unfortunately this adapter only work with ABB not EVBox.
@@aymanmohamed1068 This is indeed a unique situation and i was not aware of this. In such a situation, an additional issue will be of AC voltage which is ~110V for CCS1 AC charging and about ~230V for CCS2 AC charging. You are referring to this adapter ? www.setec-power.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=16&id=28
Gautham Ram yes exactly but regarding the AC we don’t have any problem just you need a cable from type 2 to type 1 and it will charge on Level 2 /220V. The real problem in DC charging and the adapter. I thought we can work on a solution like Tesla Chademo adapter. I would like to get in touch with you as we work on this project now and can share with you a lot of field experience regarding this topic. I added you on LinkedIn my name is Ayman Mohamed.
@@aymanmohamed1068 Sir I want to talk something related to this, so can I connect with you on LinkedIn? Also are you from zagazig University? Asking to confirm if the profile I found is yours
Well Explained. I have a question. Is it possible to charge using external battery. What is the range of DC voltage in DC charger. In a total off-grid solar setup, is it possible to charge the car using a DC voltage stored in a battery. Yes I agree to the fact that I have a to develop a DC current controller to save the external battery from over discharged current. Does such architecture commercially available? I see converting AC to DC with a rectifier or inverter circuit would add to energy loss. Looking for an option to inject DC just next to the rectifier in commercial EV charge stations.
Nice presentation. One doubt is since CCS1 and CCS2 is having both ac and dc charging, whether PLC is the communication over CP is the recommended method for ac charging also.
bro . we look exactly the same. might not look like it in my picture. i showed this to my girlfriend she thought it was me presenting for a second. Anyway, i think we should meet up cos im interested in this field as well and we could discuss business
Thank you for that informative detail. It looks like as EV is at its infancy car manufacturers around the world will need to adopt some controlled standards on these different plugs. Also learned that these Dc fast charges are eventually going to degrade the power source of the battery units and I can see that any replacement or correction is going to be at a big cost to the owners.
I am planning to by a Electric Bike, it natively support 1.2kW and 3.5kW charging with first party carryon charger, since bike has CCS connector, would I be able to charge it at these 4-wheeler charging stations? If so what would be fastest it can safely charge at? Fyi: Battery is 10.4kWh
So essentially the DC fast charging only goes to approximately 70-80% SOC using CC and that is where the charging ends with DC fast charging. The CV charging is not normally done by DC fast chargers and would have to be done using AC charging. Is that right?
Hi mr ram Thinks for explain If i want to change the ccs1 socket in my car to ccs2 is there any problem because in my country the adapter not allowed in all stations
Sir I’m looking for 12v 30amp Dc to Dc charger for my car to charge my in house battery. Can you suggest me where can I buy one in India. It would be a great help. If you could also kindly suggest about the voltage sensor relay or isolator brands in India. Thank you please. Request to give lecture on the topic above.
hi Gautham do we need to take a license to open a DC fast charging station in India. Can we start our own DC fast charging station company and install few DC chargers in India without much beurcracy.
