Omg! Thank you for this video. I always wanted to see a comparison of all three statues. I’ve owned the first edition three times and three times I sold it, lol. It’s been an on and off relationship with that statue, but it is the best of the three Superman for sure. I own the Batman vs killer croc statue and that one by far is the best of the versus series DC direct made. Batman vs.and Superman vs. were both sculpted by Ray Villafane, who is an amazing sculptor, sadly I don’t think he’s doing statues anymore, but he does carve pumpkins and does sand sculptures.
Yo that fire pit on V3 looks like shitttttttttt. Can't believe that passed approval. The clear resin on the original was the most impressive thing to me when I first unboxed it. I had never seen clear resin before and it looked beautiful
I have the 2nd and 3rd editions. I like the 2nd one the best, although it took 3 tries to get one without a broken Superman cape and the statues were new and factory sealed. I was extremely disappointed with the 3rd edition. It arrived without a broken cape but the paint application was horrible and very amateurish.
Great comparison! I own the second edition and I like it very much. In my opinion, it is a toss between the first and second version. The first one has a better painted Superman and base. The second one has a better painted Darkseid and the coupling with Superman works best. The third one is just a cash grab. Very poor execution.
