Repainting the Bane and Batman from the Knightfall 2 Pack from Mcfarlane's DC Multiverse... @mcfarlane_toys_official #dcmultiverse #bane #batman #knightfall #repaint
Killer set!!! Even if it needs some touch up. Any particular color {Blue or Gray} that you used for that batman. So many similarities in tones that, if you can throw me a Bone🤔😎😎I would be appreciated Mr. Bones. Great review thank you.
Acetone removes paint the best, but you need to use little, and go over what you took off with water. So like rub off a bit with some Acetone, then immediately go over with a wet cue tip. Acetone will eat away at plastic if you leave it for too long. I've found the best thing to remove paint is Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer. Works like a freaking charm, but follow the same process as I said with Acetone. These paintjobs are super clean and look great so now I'm gonna have to get this pack and do this myself. Bane alone looks good enough to warrant getting and doing the same. I was thinking of doing this but wanted to see someone do what you did so thank you for that.
received something strange from my Mcfarlene delivery, and I could not find it anywhere. I received a Platinum version of Superman (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) DC 7" Build-A-Figure, with an 85 Superman logo print in the box below the platinum seal. This is with the dark horse baf , anyone familiar with this? this a McFarlane manufacturer error
I used Equate 100% acetone nail polish remover, my Batman's battle damage came right off in 3 or 4 swipes with a Qtip! I cancelled my mafex knightfall Batman and bane, I'm perfectly satisfied with the McFarlane ones, but now that I've started I might try a custom cape on this Batman non wired!
Hey buddy, great repaint! I seen this two pack at target this morning. I had to pass just cause I have that Batman already in two colors now. An I just hate that extra cellshading on thge bane figure. But you did a great job at painting over it. Wish I could of got the original bane when it dropped.
Excellent job. I love the look Of Mafex Bane but I can’t ever really justify dropping the money on Mafex figures. I have Gambit, brown suit Wolverine, Hush Batman.. etc.. but I can get these two figures and still be under Mafex lol. And as much as I love this storyline what always made Bane stand out got me was Kelly Jones’ hulking covers. That was always Bane to me.. if they made the Mafex Bane a bit bigger and gave him maybe an extra head that was battle damaged or something it would be more worth it to me.. So this set it is. May end up doing what oh did.
Instead of rubbing off the shading I chose to work with it and make it make sense with darker blues and purples, custom painted the mask to have that black gap and goggles look rather than the white all being connected (Banes face changes from panel to panel, sometimes the white on his mask is all connected, other times it’s separated and the eyes look like goggles). Fixed up all his hair and filled that all out, purple highlights on the boots like the comics and some silver, and boom! Easily the best Bane figure possible for me! Love what you did with yours too though Bones!
Hell yeah, big dawg! The custom paint job looks great. Everything blended really well. I'm not a fan of the mafex bane, but my judgment is solely based on looks. I'm looking forward to the comparison video.
The repaints turned out incredibly good (as usual)! Not surprised that Batman is one of your favorites in your collection now. That new paintjob really brought him to life! Never really been a fan of the Mafex figures (way overpriced and overrated, if you ask me). I've seen some pretty poor quality and paintjobs from them (especially when you consider the price). Crazy how just the one small scale Bane figure costs more than McFarlane's two pack.
Ι Ηave pre-order this 2 pack...Batman is awesome figure and Bane is much better from the previous Bane 2022 release ...I think they are one of the best figures in the year ..
The Mafex is better. It looks exactly like Bane from this era and story. The Mcfarlane is a modern day Bane with changes to turn him retro, bur he’s still too big/tall for Knightfall. Bane was just a couple inches taller than Batman in that series and he didnt magically grow taller when he took his venom. He got a tad bulkier. The Mafex DC figures are the most accurate DC figures ever made. Theyre expensive (Bane and Knightfall Batman are $110 each in the USA). Sorry but the Mcfarlane doesnt blow the Mafex away. The Mafex is identical to the comic version. Both figures are great but Mafex sculpts are perfect to the source. The proportions are realistic whereas Mcfarlanes figs feature his in-house style with the extra long legs that a lot of people hate. I love them all but Im never going to say the Mafex isnt objectively the clear winner when it comes to accuracy. Those figures from Knightfall, Hush, The Dark Knight Returns, The Death of Superman and The Reign of the Supermen are the only versions of all those characters you’ll ever need for those versions of the characters. The Hush line alone will give you every major villain and ally in Batman’s world. It’ll cost you thousands of dollars to acquire but the quality is that good.
@@FFFFPPPP you bring up some amazing points and things to consider and yea people love the Mafex brand but for me just me personally I really think Mcfarlane did a heck of a job on this but yea some points to definitely consider cannot wait to see the Boneesss video 😀
Mafex is definitely not perfect.... Big Bobblehead... Big clown shoes... Pirate pant cuffs..and the face plate line really ruines the mask sculpt... Among other things...👍💀
@@FFFFPPPPtechnically this version of Bane, while a retool.. is based on the Kelly Jones covers.. Which is always what I think about when I think Bane. Both are good.. but, I mean.. two figures that still come under the cost of one? I love my Marvel Mafex figures but they fit in with ML. Mafex Bane will never fit in with McFarlane due to his goofy ass size.. so then you have to get Knightfall Batman from Mafex.. and there you’re looking at 200 bucks. So.. I 100% understand why people prefer McFarlane Bane over Mafex. Especially during a time when three bags of groceries can cost 80 bucks.
@@bonesandthenecrozooI 100% agree on that. My buddy has Mafex Bane and he’s far from perfect. The head absolutely is big, the shoes like you said.. are insanely large. For his price he’s also suuuper light on accessories. Comparing him to my Mafex Gambit for example.. it’s not even close. Mafex should have given us a Battle damaged headsculpt and skipped the face plates because they’re meh. I enjoy Mafex a LOT but for this Bane? It’s just missing too much for the price imho.
