I used to put this song on air at a Christian radio back in the '99 when I was 14 years old. Today, 24 years later my daughters are listening to it. How amazing is that?!
I heard how Jesus changed other people's lives and I wanted it too.I was a lying stealing cheating arrogant sexually immoral drug-addicted jerk.I knew I was bad and wanted to be good.I asked Jesus to take control of my life;I had made a mess of it.He came and purified my thought-life and heart.I believe the Son of God died for my sins and rose again. Understanding His love I trust Him and give Him control of my life. He transformed me into a new person.Never knew joy like this was possible.
According to Paul in Romans 3:10-12 there’s none who seeks after God. According to Jesus in John 6:44 no one can come to Him unless we are 1st drawn to Him by God. According to Romans 8:7 the carnal, lost, unregenerate mind considers God our enemy. So we don’t do it, can’t do it, and wouldn’t do it even if we could do it. You didn’t decide to do anything. John 15:16 you didn’t choose Me but I chose you. God decided to save you before He ever created a thing. Ephesians 1: 4just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.
Have to say I had to look up the video to see what such a marvelous voice was coming out of. Never heard any human voice like that. Beyond vibrato, melodious, strong and compelling! Just have to hear more!
mrm64 amen, god bless you brother, god bless you. Keep your faith in the Lord and He will continue to bless you and your family. The bible says if we remain faithful in the little things, He will bless us in the big things. It's all about Faith. Ops, I apologize for not capitilizing the word God. My bad. I am crying tears of joy. Lol.
Nuff said right on..I'm 44 my classmate ex metal head Christina Simmons turned me on to DC in 90 91..it hasn't been easy (life)..But JESUS is still alright..you let the haters hate..Roll on
Tuesday was gospel night at the skating rinks here! Talk about a different time. Things were so different then. I remember when public school teachers didn't give much homework on Wednesdays because people went to Wednesday night church service!
I am from Trinidad and Tobago but when I was a kid there was a Christian Music Video program called Fast Forward that showed this video, artists like Newsboys, Michael W. Smith, Carman and DC Talk and lots of others. Now I am 25, these songs still have a great impact on my life.
Access to enjoyable Christian radio stations is one of the many ways God made it easier and more fun to help/let/watch Him pour such a deep, rich foundation under my spirit childhood, too.
I believe using profanity here is what is called "rude". If you're speaking to someone please identify then with a name or in reply to a comment. I don't like the use of that word coupled with "Mother" all over the place.
An old song from the 70"s. Wow what an update as a rap type song. Hope the Doobies are enjoying it as much as I am. This is from an old Grand mom! Jesus is still ALRIGHT with me!
What I love the most about this is their going for their own unique and original sound and they did a pretty good job of it. I'm a Christian musician to and I really love to see other Christian artists who are willing to break away from the mainstream sound and put their creativity to work for Gods glory.
🤙😂 I wonder if God finds it humorous watching how the styles of the times change and the instrumentals chosen for the songs we right to glorify him. Lol I know I do.
i've known about this song my whole life, and yet i've never watched the music video until tonight. Why did i wait so long???? Why can't Christian artists of today do somethin' like this again? It's so sickkkkkkk!!!!!
They weren't afraid to go outside the box(musically and video imagery), that is why they were one of the most popular Christian bands, and connected with people outside religion.
bullshit, it's an interpretation and cover of a song, and better than the original... much like The Wallflowers covering the Bee Gees one song "I Started a Joke" and doing a better job than the original... it's music get over yourself
@@coreetta it was one of the best festivals I ever saw. That was one of John James’ last times as lead singer of Newsboys. Jesus has used that music throughout my life. Started with Petra in ‘82 when I was 14.
He has told people what is right and wrong, and now he is letting us choose to accept it. If we all started out "perfect" in Heaven than we would have no will of our own and would be like slaves. In other words he loves us SO MUCH that he is letting us choose if we want to love him back by being good people and following his example.
One of the biggest problems with Christianity is the slavery and genocide that God either commits or commands others to perform in the Bible. You can try to dismiss me as a hater, but these are some serious problems with the religion.
@@rocksreviewsreactions337 It clearly describes the rules for keeping slaves. It's all very unambiguous. Disgraceful that you are trying to defend the idea of owning people as property.
You think you feel old? I first remember hearing the Doobie Brothers version in the early '70's (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EQ9WHaSKlgU.html ) Here's the original from the Art Reynolds Singers in 1966: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wtWOaqcXplw.html
Was at a job where the lead guy hated me for reasons I won't get into, wouldnt let me listen to a radio choice of mine, relented to one hour a day, then it became several hours, then became all day, he really enjoyed Christian music, this song was one of his absolute favorites, God can melt the hardest of hearts and I was blessed to see it happen, that man is like a brother to me to this day...
AHAHAHAHA!!! Ok, i know a lot of people hate this because it's about Jesus, and that it's old or "corny", but this (at the time, being in 1992) was the JAM for people who loved Jesus and hip-hop! Such nostalgia!!! xD
I was around when the original came out by The Doobie Brothers. That means I'm old. I like this, and as with all remakes, I love listening to them back-to-back with the originals.
Listening to the song again because of the movie “Jesus Revolution”. I heard the original in the movie and I remember the DC talk version from my childhood.
DC Talk was the jam growing up saved and in church. I appreciate people like them, Carman etc...who give their talents to the Lord for His glory. Say something different, you just don’t know. God’s people don’t have to compete with anyone.❤️
I had the privilege to See d.c.talk Live, when they weren't even well known yet!! They were the band we saw, B4 Michael W. Smith!! I didn't know them just yet, but I'll never forget... They layed on the floor & kicked up their legs!!! & the line to the song said, "Praise The Lord with your feet!!!!" I heard the Doobie Brothers version in the 1970's, B4 I got saved. But, I like This version much better!!! 💗🕊️💗🕊️💙🕊️💙🕊️💜🕊️💜
Some of us were at the Brown County Arena in Green Bay Wisconsin for the Doobie Brothers concert 1978, BC Before the Covenant Blood of the Cross of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST who entered my heart took away heavy metal and introduced me to WHITE HEART and then of course DC Talk. AD the awesome Display of the change of heart after JESUS as our personal LORD and Savior, thank you for all you do IN JESUS NAME!!!
I was there a long time ago. I'm still here now. The Lord and Lady have to figure it out. In between? Jesus is more than alright! He can hang with me and my misfits all he wants! Someday I will be worthy, but until that, I will find space, Jesus never has to ask twice in my home!
It's a shame about his dad though! Remember all that slavery and genocide that God either commits or commands others to perform in the Bible. What a disgrace!
Im 45 n been listening to this song when I first heard it as a teen when I first got saved at 16 .its so awesome!! And Jesus is Still Alright with Me!!! ❤
If he stopped every tragedy and forced us to be good and love him than we would be slaves. God has made it very clear what is right and what is wrong. If someone does something wrong than that is their problem. Furthermore if someone dies from an illness or is murdered, but followed God than they will have an eternity of time in Heaven, [(and if it was murder) the murderer will be judged at his death and sent to hell].
One of the biggest problems with Christianity is the slavery and genocide that God either commits or commands others to perform in the Bible. Christians tie themselves in knots to justify this, but it is plainly written in the Bible. God endorses many atrocious acts. Christianity is truly a despicable religion.
I remember when I was a young boy, I had an imaginary best friend. He granted me wishes and went with me everywhere I went. Then I grew up, and i stopped going to church.
One of the biggest problems with Christianity is the slavery and genocide that God either commits or commands others to perform in the Bible. The idea that this God is somehow 'loving' is ludicrous!
song still slaps all these years later. 2024 checking in with Jesus. turns out Jesus is still alright. Still alright with me. And this song is literally better than I remembered. I've listened to this song at least 200 times fr fr. Sounds awesome on my headphones rn. Peace to all the believers. And peace to everyone else. Strike a pose, all y'all.
It was the year 2000, I remember my brother playing this on the way to visit Virginia Tech somewhere between Roanoke and Lynchburg at night, the mountain town lights with this playing was surreal with this playing, our boomer dad questioned the song thinking it was a weird cover to the Doobie Brothers song.
+Tomb Raider May 1, 1993 at the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, NC. There was one part of their set where they got off stage and Toby went down to the floor, Kevin went up the left side of the arena, and Michael ran up the side where me and my friend were. Got close enough to touch him! BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!
Jesus is JUST, because he JUSTifies all sinners who believe he was raised from the dead; he justifies them "just as if" they are righteous, due to His sacrifice on the cross, he takes all of our due punishments for sins, and then imparts His righteousness into us. And then Jesus is ALL RIGHT, because He is God and so He is never wrong.
Well, I'm a pretty die-hard atheist now, but I remember this song from my religious upbringing, and it was the greatest thing to me back then, so this brings back loads of truly wonderful memories..
This song is so awesome!! I remember, I was just starting nursing school at a four-year university. This song was one of my "let go" songs for the weekend after some intense studying during the week. It brings back some wonderful memories of when I was in college and raising my young daughter, on my own, at the same time. Jesus IS Just Alright (and He is the God who provides for us). He is Jehovah Jira---the God of provision! He got me through some tough spots during that time in my life; but, I mostly remember the joy of it all! Praise the Lord!!
"I'm kickin' it Jesus style To the ones that think they heard I did use the "J" word 'Cause I ain't too soft to say it Even if DJ's don't play it " I so agree ^.^
Favorite part right there Esther fo sho! This part reminds me of a part I really like in Jesus Muzik by Lecrae and Trip Lee: They talk about it all the time and put it in they songs They drive around and play it loud like it ain't nothin wrong And all they talk about is sinful stuff, Got everybody actin bad thinkin that they a thug (weeelll) And they tryna drown me out, but nah they ain't gon count me out I got a backpack full of tracks plus I keep a Johnny Mac so we can pound it out Plus I'm bumpin dese JESUS BEATS Whenever they SEEIN ME People lookin all confused, cause every one of my tunes is screamin JESUS peeps
So i just watched Jesus Revolution, the greg laurie story and heard an earlier version. Never knew DC talk did this over. Was apparently done by Doobie Bros. I grew up on this version. My church as a youngster, Living Word Christian Centre in Trinidad and Tobago, produced a show called FFWD and played all the contemporary christian music hits from then more on the rock side of the genre, and this played often. Think the show was produced by Robin Ramcharan who is now a pastor of a church. They knew worship and music. The promoted Hosanna Integrity music, some of the best songs in worship still coz it was scripture in song. CCM was a genre that really got ppl thinkin about God while it got some airplay on adult contemp music stations also. X
When you come back to listen to great Christian music and then remember again that Toby Mac was the guy in DC Talk I tottaly forgot! Anyway Praise Jesus!! ❤
