Next week I will be starting to go through the Vertigo comic Sweet Tooth, which is being adapted into a Netflix series, so look out for that, that will be six volumes long. Sweet Tooth wasn't in my initial plans for covering this soon, I was going to do Ed Brubaker's Criminal next, but DC is putting out a new Sweet Tooth mini-series starting next week, so I decided to capitalize on the timing of that. Volume 1 and 2 is already recorded and being edited, and work on Volume 3 is underway. The reaction to last week's American Vampire Volume 1 video was really positive, so even though I wasn't planning on returning to it for several months, I may end up returning to that soon after Sweet Tooth, as I feel the demand is there. Also hope you all dug DCeased. It's been a while since I covered a straight up DC/Marvel Superhero book, but this one is worth it I felt. Even though other YT channels have covered it as well, I wanted to go through it myself. This horror book, is one of my favorite DC titles of last year, if you watched my Top Comics of 2019 video, you'll see I ranked it as #3. It is so absolutely insane, Out-Of-Continuity awesomeness, any one can die. Tom Taylor is one of the best writers at DC right now. I think this is probably one of the best DC comic books that encompasses the entire DC universe. I will be sure to return to DCeased when volume 2 is done!
I wanted to ask if you could do a full comic explanation of Teen Titans and Young Avengers from beginning to end. I noticed that many comic channels on RU-vid avoid the teenage teen side kick comics for some reason and I find it crazy since Teen Titans saved DC’s comic book era when it was first released and actually held the number one spot in sales for a good time period.
Sometimes I want to give respectful dissenting opinions on content, but I usually shut up because I like YT channels being a reflection of the creators' artistic innovation, not a made-to-order response that bends to vocal subbers. Feels purer that way. Anyway, great video.
11:59 the moral lesson is always update your anti virus people 20:51 alright this is scary (no internet ... in their universe they can not see Danny videos ) 49:07 never disappointed to see Zatanna
So glad you covered this, and honestly wouldn’t mind you covering Unkillables, Hope at World’s End and Dead Planet at some point in the future, Tom Taylor is just so good at Elseworld stories, like I will always respect Robert Kirkman, but this makes Marvel Zombies look like a fucking joke. Every issue has so much emotion, even the new ones and especially Unkillables. Someone needs to just give Tom Taylor better artists, and a fucking superman book already, the man just knows how to write certain characters. His Suicide Squad run atm is my favorite comic book run this year by a fucking mile.
I got to give his Suicide Squad book another shot, I dropped off. But everything I’ve read of his I’ve for the most part liked. Some of his Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was good, he also did some Star Wars stuff at Dark Horse years ago I thought was cool. But DCeased is his best I think.
@@dannymaltHis Spider-Man had some amazing issues, and his Star Wars stuff was too awesome, espcially his Darth Maul stuff. If you haven’t checked it out, his new series Seven Secrets is looking really good so far, and you should totally pick Suicide Squad back up, it’s been the best SS run since Ostrander and only has a couple issues left, but I agree DCeased was really awesome. Unkillables was better then the main series IMO and Dead Planet has honestly been better then both. I still think my personal favorite of his might be Justice League/Power Rangers. That was just too fun of a series, such a fucking awesome and quick read. Edit: Those Harley and Constantine impressions were pretty damn good
Marvel Zombies is supposed to be a joke though so i really dont get why people are comparing them other than ''oh zombie haha''. They are totally different tones and settings. Enjoy both and dont feel the need to compare them
It's downright horrendous🤦🏽♂️ It's tough trying to offer constructive criticism and not come off as a jerk. He has a ton of copy issues (bad accents aside) A shitload of mispronounciations. Wish he had someone go over his copy before he produced. The channel and content are awesome just REALLY wished he''d at least do some grammatical research beforehand. It could be sooo much better!!!!!
Constructive Criticism: 1:00:25 - not "womans" but "women." Also, not "diseased" but "deceased" (DCeased). Your British accent is more Australian than anything. Besides that, Great great read, perfect edit. Im jealous. Keep it up. Oh, and kudos for The Boys. That was spectacular!
You start here. This volume contains DCeased #1-6 and a one-shot called DCeased: A Good Day to Die #1. After this you would read: DCeased: Unkillables #1-3 (Optional) DCeased: Hope at World's End #1-15 (Optional Digital Only Anthology Series) DCeased: Dead Planet #1-7 (Official Sequel)
Hello! Great job on covering dceased and your gf did great too. When I heard that voice I looked at the TV like wth then read the bottom and said oooohhhh. There was one part I wish you would have explained or included though. When superboy and Damien were sitting next to each other after batman died and damien said he didn't wanna talk about it. Superboy just said well can I just sit here with you. And that just sat there. That really hurt my heart even tho it's a comic book cause after someone I loved died one of my friends was there and we didn't talk. We just sat there. Im not crying. You are.
In my American Vampire video intro I explained I was just doing volume 1 as a one-off, and maybe would return to it one day. But rest assured because of the positive feedback on that video. I’ll be returning to it very soon. I am doing this short series called Sweet Tooth for 6 volumes, which I’m already deep into recording, and then I’ll come back to American Vampire after that.
@@dannymalt awesome! Youre videos are really good, I always watch tham even if I dont really like the story... keep up with the good work, Im sure youll have a lot of subs in no time😁
Speaking as a British person who works in a call centre and regularly has Americans call me Australian......they really dont seem to hear the difference
I don’t love the way Comics Explained does his videos, and I think I could do it better, but he has a 3.5 hour Blackest Night video with 4M views. So imma let him have that one. I might do Grant Morrison’s The Green Lantern. I covered a few issues here and there in my early days, but I’ve wanted to redo them and cover the whole series in my more polished way I do my videos now. It’s kind of incomprehensible and confusing though, but I like the challenge of adapting something so trippy and confusing.
@@210SAi I covered 5 or so random issues on my channel. Every issue was so confusing I would research for like 45 minutes everything about the issue, and I would eventually understand it, and what he was referencing, and I would like it more, and was able to explain it. But every issue was a chore to read, and not super user friendly. The art work was pretty nice tho.
That's kind of the reason why I asked. I like comics explained and Comicstorian, but both of them skip over too many details and I feel like we miss out on some things.
@@PhantomBones101 yeah I’m torn. Green Lantern Blackest Night is probably my fav Green Lantern story. But it is super long. I’ll consider it for the long term. Some other super hero runs I’m considering are Daredevil Bendis thru to Waid. Garth Ennis Punisher. We’ll see tho, all are very long as well.
this is how i wanted this is the dream i been hopping for a movie like that.. i would say this 'all Gotham city is lost no one is alive anymore...its over for the justice league or us..no matter what we do'
This is one of the most epic and legit dc novels ever! Seriously DC why are the movies so bad like y’all have no excuse on story telling (lol I’m looking at you new flash move )we know you can do it !
I’m going to return to it soon because the reaction was really positive. I’m doing Sweet Tooth next, and too far along to pivot back to American Vampire, but once Sweet Tooth is done, I think I will return to American Vampire.
Watchmen is my all-time favorite. I just figure everyone knows the story by now, and I missed the window when it has its resurgence with the Watchmen TV Show. But I might still do it one day. Tom King has a Rorschach mini-series right now, so I suppose Watchmen will always be relevant, one way or another.
@@dannymalt for me it isn't about whether or not we know the story, its about how it was told in a different way; my wife and I watched the show Preacher after I read it and after I listened to you read it and we had a blast watching it and pointing out the differences. Plus its always cool to hear you read out comics while I'm at work, if that's any help at nudging you
@@WollenWasWir yeah true. Hoping to go full time one day with these videos. I think if I can do that, I’ll have time to devote to covering Watchmen properly.
Damn. You are right. I figured out how I messed up. When I googled it, her greatest hits album was called “If I Could Turn Back Time” and that came out in 1999, but the actual song first came out In 1989.
