This is my second favorite opening pit feature after 2016 (Force of Nature). I think the timbres they used in that feature fit so well with the theme, but that's just IMO. They have a GREAT show this year, and I hope they take it all!
It's going to be SCV vs. Cadets this year for drums. Cadets '18 bassline is probably the best in DCI history and the battery book is very difficult overall. SCV is perfect as usual.
TalkShowHost I don't know man. The Cadets are still being outscored by Crown, Bloo, Boston, and BD. I love their book, but they have a ways to go if they're gonna come even close to SCV.
That is the most ILL TIMED "WHAT" I have heard. Totally, unesscesary especially with the clessy silence given by the remainder of the audience. I am sure everyone else knew that for that time in the season SCV was demonstrating a superior level of musicianship!
I'd say he started very close to Brandon Olander's age of intro into BD. He's on the cover of DCI products, very rightfully. OHHHHHHH, BTWaaaaaaaaaaaaay... He started out marching TROOPERS, .... and second BTW, sooo did Fred Sanford start instructing with the Troopers.
Excellent everything in this video. Any change you can post the video focusing directly on the drumline the whole time? I wanna transcribe the rest of the book. One of my favorite Rennick books for sure.
Jason Givens Unfortunately I don’t have a static shot of just the battery...I was running two cameras at once so I was panning around a lot to try and get a wide variety of shots that I could edit together.
@@arfshesaid4325 "Bulbous skull"... that's what your drum corps history has taught you... Glen Crosby has a bulbous skull. Okay then... I love Glen Crosby too! Under-appreciated in DCI history. Always in the background in Sanford, Casella & many other lines. Crosby would be cool to hang with and learn from.
