I just recently joined a DCI group and this one day at a show I marched over next to this one Trumpet dude and he looked at me dead in the eyes during a move and said, “Wee-woo” and I almost died
@ᏃεאїᎢᎻ ᎾF ᴏʏғᴜᴍ Truthfully, it is a DCJ group, but I have gone to one international comp. and my memory is anything but good. So I get the different types of Drum Corps (DCI, DCJ, DCA, etc.) mixed up sometimes
I absolutely love vocals that bands make up. We have one where we all kneel around a sundial prop and a color guard member named Evie (we somehow renamed her Steve) so now we say "All hail the sun god Steve" when we kneel down
We do this a lot in marching band. A few of ours have been “Oh woah that was cool SNAP” “Oh woah here we go UP” “Bradens got a fat head!” “Cant stop addicted to the shindig” and a few others. It’s so fun to use vocal cues that only your section can hear. Low brass is always an interesting place.
Everything is so funny but so relatable.😂 especially our guard. We say a lot of weird or funny things to remember parts. They most memorable one is "hairy flag". No one in the band know...
Im im the pit and i never knew that the band talks like that during shows but i def didn't expect them to be talking during the 2011 nationals lol its fkn hilarious 😂
I used get out of my room im playing Minecraft this year! It was an 8 count hold at 160, and I could perfectly say "mom get out my room I'm playing minecraft" with 2 counts left to breath.
So from what I’ve seen in others is they use each other instruments and mouthpieces because I remember seeing them put down their instruments rotate then pick up another instrument on the ground from someone else and play it, so will that even still happen even during Covid lmao?
I was in Lucas Oil just last month and everyone was so nervous even the trumpets were being serious lmao. and this was high school marching band. how are people in dci doing this mid performance
