Nice addition, would like to see more of this. Perhaps have some overlay to make it so we can see the name of who ever is talking in future videos. (Or focus on their aircraft when they speak)
It was a very nice addition because we don't have to guess what they were thinking anymore. Only a small technical request, within the limit of their hardware if they can speak a little bit more clearly it would be amazing (especially for us non english speaker), I manage to understand pretty much everything but ZOHO was quite a bit harder to understand.
Excellent walkthrough. That you weren’t quite clear on how things went until after the fact reinforces how hard it is to maintain situational awareness.

An F-4 in Iran in 1988 to dodge a missle made a 12G turn. And that's a documented event. The same Mig-29 test pilots were talking about how to stress planes up to 12G. Today 9G is recognized as an operating limit, but structurally it can go much further.
@@justtoolleeow304 to be fair, ppl have been shown to be able to survive over 46G... the key is how long he has to endure that sort of punishment... a few seconds is well within human tolerance... if more than that though and well...

Modern planes that come with 9G hard limits imposed by FBW may be at a disadvantage at dodging missiles, because modern short range missiles, even some middle ranged ones (like R-77) can maneuver with a target pulling 9G's. That being said, no plane (or pilot) can sustain a 12-13 G turn for more than a couple of seconds, while 9G turns can theoretically be sustained as long as they have fuel remaining. The human limits are a different story though.

Also the tac view with other people is awesome, in the cycling world some vloggers have frienemies and they explain together what eachother was thinking during the race, its great content. You should be getting paid for this type of stuff!
Wow I am very impressed with the US Airforce tactics. I'm an F-14A/B/D Aviation Electrician retired. Thank God for our Navy and Airforce fighter weapons schools.
What a fight, such epic scenes (again: great editing)! As GS, I was really surprised as to what happened with that most surprisingly fast 180 at the beginning of the fight which turned out to be an unfortunate combination of manoeuvres of Viking (RIP :) and Xoho. I loved Xoho's sneaky attack on Masterjay, props to Masterjay for his lightning fast reflexes dodging the missile. Also well done on Xoho for getting some good hits with the gun. Very interesting to actually hear what each of you was thinking while watching Tacview. Well done to each of you :)

Great fight, that mig 29 gun burst at the end was very well placed, I was impressed. Another great part was in tac view where you see the migs cross eachother behind the ridge, i thought it was one mig maneuvering like a bat out of hell lmao!

I love these vids! I have been watching all of your vids for months. I only have one critique; Unless you guys are writing down verbatim info, the acknowledgement radio call is "Roger". Otherwise, if being passed info, it would be "Prepare to copy" acknowledged with "Ready to copy" and finally "copies" followed by a read-back (if required). In any event, your vids are first rate, and very enjoyable!
thanks man, yes ur correct but we are not using proper comms if that was an expectation of mine there are very few people I could bring on to make videos as not a lot of people have put in the time to learn proper comms I appreciate the feedback if ever possible i'll try to have some good comms going.
Ok this game looks great, I think I am hooked. Going to get a Thrustmaster T-16000M FCS HOTAS Flight Stick and start to learn how to fly. I love watching your videos and I am trying to learn as much as I can. Looking forward to playing this !

I'll be honest with you my SA was down, that 1st mig kill really threw me off, I didnt know what was going on, I lost track of jay, I found him again cuz he saif he had missile launch on his six, and i saw the smoke trails of the missiles.
16:35 - this is the tactic solution usually recommended for Mig-29 now: go low into the mountains and use IRST/IR missiles on the lured targets in CQB. Why did Xoho send ER from under the MasterJay instead of ET or 73? Jay won't be able to even see that until splash.
Unhappy Troll Everyone got their customized load out for the fight. I agree that the Migs would have been better off if they chose a loadout with IR missiles.
Typically I fly flankers instead of the MiG, I agree with you that at least 1-2 IR missiles would've been great. 1*R-77, 1*ER, 1*ET, and 1*R-73 probably would be a more effective loadout, but as Southern Fun pointed out, hindsight is 20/20. Masterjay really did pull off one hell of a dodge. I had him locked up in EO until I pulled the trigger (at which point the radar goes hot and missile fires immediately), so he had no time to hesitate.
Nice flight, this was more epic than tense IMO, but some nice "Neo moments" in it; well done, that strafing was also awesome but sadly not fatal, anyway... everyone did a gj IMO.
Great that we have all of you commenting. Would russian guys have better position if used Su 27, no 77's buy better situational awareness; I like mig but radar not as good as f15 and no SA like in Su27, it looks like they are in disadvantage... ps: fantastic gun shooting f15 :)
Our radar isn't as capable, but they're close enough that with the right timing, positioning, and maybe a little luck you can pull it off. We also have EO which is a significant advantage in DCS, as it works extremely well. The main advantage of the Su-27 in this scenario would be the ability to carry IR missiles (Such as the R-27T/ET) in addition to several R-27ERs, however we would lose the R-77s unless we flew the J-11a. (Chinese variant of the flanker) Datalink would still be helpful, but without supporting assets good communication can come quite close to providing the same SA, if not more.
Great vid as always, quick criticism: I think the captions over the realtime footage are kind of distracting, plus they are a bit unnecessary when your tacviews always do a really good job of explaining the situation. I found trying to keep up with the situation without any captions, as in previous videos, more entertaining because I had to figure out how you got bits of information from the HUD and environment. Saying that, you could maybe annotate the footage by highlighting where you're getting the info that leads to a decision, like target info on the HUD or radar screens or circling a plane when you spot it.

Mig's, with their inferior radars, would rather be sneaking low above the terrain, to gain some chance for a victory. An excellent fight of yours, GSW, anyway!
nobody really flies them cuz theyre so hard, u need a whole different style of play, but i'm sure I can find a few guys that are good and are willing to give it a go
until R-27R/T does not remade to current engine's FM (right now it is way underperformed), it will not be fight equal enough. afaik those, who use MiG-29 online, use it mostly with R-73.
@@BlackPixxelDE it is understandable to a some degree - they do what brings more money. but right now imo ED gave too much promises, and I'm not sure they'll be able to do all of it in near future.
How did you know about that missile fired when he came from behind you at 7:14? I don't see an indication on RWR or the missile warning, neither was he in your mirrors? I am curious i have just started playing this game a week ago online on your server "TheGrowlingSidewinder" and got my first double kill with F15C on two Tomcats that i engaged at the same time. They must be really new if i killed them both! lol I have yet to see you online.
Han Solo that's masterjay, Xoho would have had go to radar on at the last second to launch that missile (cuz it's R27ER) and masterjay would have got a spike and a missile launch indicator on his 6 o'clock by his RWR. He would have had just seconds to respond to the threat.

The camera work in this video is two or three notches above the past works. Good stuff. I know this is a long shot, but I'd really like to try doing a 1v1 with you in a Tomcat and myself in a Mirage. We can even make that over flat land, with AWACS. I think the proper way to fly the Mirage is also the optimal anti-Tomcat technique, and I haven't seen it properly demonstrated anywhere on RU-vid. I've wanted to make a video like that with my squad mates but we can't do quality video like this.
do u mean a dogfight or a BVR fight ? cuz if you mean BVR ur gonna die lol. if you mean dogfight I think u have a great chance, although I've never fought a mirage I dont know how the tomcat will do but the mirage is a very strong dogfighter
Nice video by the way, but I am just curious and please do fix me if I am wrong. But don't the word Fox1 Fox2...etc is use when launching a TYPE of missile not the number of missiles?
