I got my good friend feisty here in this video flying as my number 2 as we take on 4 flankers 3 J-11s with 1 Su-27 One of the best ways to kill an F-15 in DCS is to ruin his situational awareness. That's exactly what the flankers go for in this fight as they try to sneak up on us and finish us off. Watch feisty earn the name "shaved dogs ass" in this video as he single handedly tallys all 4 targets and paints a perfect picture for Lead. Huge thanks to Feisty, Victor, Otskaya, MikePence and Fenrir for their help in the production of this video. i used to have a phenom 2 six core at 4.0 ghz and a 6970.... and back in the 1.5 days id get 30 FPS on the ground.... but around 70 above 5000 feet . i then got a ryzen 1700x and still had the 6970....which worked great.... till the cacuas map got updated.... then id have to sit at 1FPS for 45 seconds when ever i loaded in . then i split beer on my 6970..... and ended up getting a 5700xt now ive got 50fps on the ground...and 120 above 10,000 feet . im actually quite shocked at how good a first gen ryzen and 5700xt handle the game at 1920X1080 . i run at NEAR max settings.... . like... before, id try to play the f14 in multiplayer.... and get my ass handed to be because at random times my PC would drop to 0.5 FPS and id loose sight of the bandit but with the 5700xt, this is no longer the case . i think the lowest ive seen was 32 FPS..... which is SHOCKING . as even back in the 1.2 days..... i would drop to 20FPS, on the ground, in a heavily "scripted" mission with a lot of other players AKA when the 104th server was the best server . damn..... i miss the 104th server.... IDK why people have stopped playing on it....

this is amazing man, i love watching your videos, so detailed and quality, love the tacview at the end too, im new to DCS, ive had a bug to fly jets in a game and it erked me how i couldent find any realistic jet games, until just recently discovering DCS, absolutley incredible, its about the little details ya know? how jet wobbles and slightly changes altitude when flying side by side, i love all the little realistic details, it just sucks how its going to take me forever and so much effort to learn how to even fly one plane, let alone trying to learn all the lingo and tactical performances, im sure ill get it over time but its like i just wanna hop in now and do what yall are doing xD lol btw love the loyalty with you and feisty and how you give him credit, wall would be fore sure partners in the real world if yall were in the airforce or something

Much of the community are a bunch of middle-aged to older guys. Get a halfway decent PC together and jump in. You will not regret it. I always tell my wife playing these simulators is like reading a book, it takes me out of the world for hours. Awesome way to unwind from The Daily Grind.

@@gbormann71 VR requires a decent graphics card. These days sellers are price gouging, so good luck there. A lower end stick and throttle (hotas), maybe 200 new. If you buy used, less. I say the hotas is required for a great experience. If you do VR (which is mind blowing), I suggest a WMR samsung Odyssey or other WMR VR headsets by HP or lenovo. They are much cheaper than the others and do very well for sit down gaming. Basically get the best gfx card you can get and a hotas

The F-15 has a 104:0 kill/loss rate in real combat for a reason. It's the best air superiority fighter on the planet, and it's proven it in many, many dogfights, with 0 losses.

I remember watching a video of the development of the SU27 Flanker where the designers of the aircraft, once it was accepted into service and in production, admitted that it still was not capable of beating the F15 Eagle in a one to one fight. I still need to restrain myself whenever I hear a young F22 pilot refer to an F15 Eagles as an old, legacy, fighter. I'm like, son, over one hundred kills to zero losses isn't a legacy. It's a legend!

I think the wingman is using too much aileron and not enough rudder. Small corrections with rudder prevents the bobbing effect he’s getting.

A good idea would be to have a 3rd party design the encounter so neither the boogies nor the aggressors know the direction or number of targets, what the opponent is flying etc. Should be designed to be fair, however the uncertainty adds another element.

Agreed. Im actually impressed that some kids have the patience to learn such a technical game like this. Transitioning to this from Ace Combat was hard enough for me. The only gripe I have with games that get too popular with kids is that the RU-vidrs tend to latch onto them with their incredibly toxic fanbase in tow. Those people dont care about the game. They only care about money, and their fans are often the same way, caring only about whats "popular" to play. Which is why im so grateful for dedicated small time RU-vidrs like Growling who actually dedicate their energy towards entertaining their audience instead of fishing views for cash.

Now that I think of it, my original comment seemed kinda "gatekeepy" but I just meant that I'd like more genuine faces in gaming like this community, and it came off kinda rude. I actually am really into aviation and one day hope to fly in the USAF after Im done with college.
