@@SPIRIT-117 going low in a fox2 situation is because the atmoshpere nearer to the terrain is where there is more heat(remember that heat is reflected of the ground and gradually decreases temp when it travels further ) thus this heat would more likely cause diversions to the IR sensors on the missile. In a fox1 situation it is pretty similar due to the Doppler effect

@@balamcom7092 ahhh ok. Maybe that's something I'll try out, usually I try to go high for the energy advantage, but you can't out energy a missile fired a mile or 2 behind you by going high.

haha a little bit, we had a few rounds before this one, but I messed up and didnt record the audio, so i couldnt make a video out of those rounds...I died first a couple times in those rounds lol pretty embarrassing stuff actually. pure luck on this round.

Yeah, combat is always unpredictable. Doesn't matter how good you are, luck always plays a factor. I've had matches where I do everything right and lose miserably and others where I practically throw and come out on top. But that said, I guess that works. Save the epic stuff to showcase what's done right and save the bad stuff for people to laugh at. That said I always just try to keep getting better.

Jo Jo I honestly don’t remember but I do remember the migs won most rounds cuz we stayed in the mountains and played to its advantage it was mostly Maximus scoring the wins in those rounds. Gonna do another round with him with su27s and you’ll see he’s the one getting the wins. This time I’ll remember to record audio lol.

I've seen the MiG-29 go against the Hornet, with the Hornet winning at slow speeds and the MiG winning at higher speeds. Hornet versus SU-27 should be interesting. Honestly, I just wish they'd bring in the Rhino. I like the Hornet, but the Super Hornet was built with the future in mind and I find it to be far more interesting. That said if I can get a new job I'll still blow 80 bucks on DCS. Looking forward to the new video, should be an interesting matchup.

Well, in his case I'm sure that he can land just fine and so it might be educational for those like myself. Me? That would be entertaining possibly for those of you watching a video of my attempt. There is a reason that I take a max possible load out of weapons and fuel when departing the runway. It is always a one mission one new plane flight for me. I am lucky if I can successfully land in War Thunder, let alone in something like Falcon 4.0 or Modern Air Combat. I never got around to getting DCS.

@@b00stedrust the AIM-120C5 or V is a far superior missile to the Phoenix in every way except raw pure range against a NON-MANEUVERING large airframe like an AWACS or Tanker, etc.

I don't like the helmet mounted sight for recording reasons. I find it increases the probability of corrupting the track files (makes it harder for me to go back and get external footage for the video). thats the only reason I dont use it.

@@GrowlingSidewinder I'm actually wondering, how do you get the track files uncorrupted??, I tried to watch track files of 2 SP missions doing a dogfight against 2 MIG 29 A's and 2 Mirage's in the second mission, in the Hornet. one shows that I ran out of energy during a climb and hitting the ground the other one seems to have mixed my manoeuvres with the MIG 29's and he got the kill, instead of the reality in which I won in both of them..... 🤔

theres no uncorrupting track files man, once its corrupted thats it. its the most annoying thing in DCS, U have to pray to the DCS gods that it doesnt corrupt right off the bat on first recording, then immediately save it, cuz even if its not corrupted, watching it a couple times might corrupt it. also things like having too many things going on, too many planes, too many view changes etc seem to increase the probabily to corrupting the files. and certain planes I can't get a recording of at all, like the mig21. I can't even fly for 2 mins without a corrupt track file.

satish8299 theres videos on the channel where I dont survive lol. I said in the other comments in the other rounds I die all the time and Maximus brings home the wins. But I didn’t press the record button on the audio for those rounds so I couldn’t make a video lol. This round I bring home the win but it’s pure luck. I still don’t know how I pulled it off.

These are my current specs. I can run DCS on its top graphics settings. smooth as hell as you can see in the videos. i recently upgraded to his GC from a gtx 1050 and I would recommend nothing less than a 1070 for a GOOD experience in DCS. anything less than a 1070 and it seems to become very hard seeing other planes at distance. and I use to have 16gigs ram, and that also didnt seem to cut it, since I went up to 32 it works like a beaut. anyway heres all my specs below. HP OMEN 880-130 - Windows 10 Intel Core i7-8700K 2TB HDD / 1TB SSD 32GB DDR4 RAM GTX 1080 Ti Joystick: Thrustmaster 16000M Head Tracker: Trackir5

thxs for info never thought to use control+Enter, hope they fix it soon I really want to love the MIg29 a few mill of movement on the throttle is like 10% on the bird. I understand they had Input from a real mig 29 pilot, find it hard to believe it would be that touchy. Who knows though never flew a real one so?

Hi there Tim, If it's the Logitech G X56 H.O.T.A.S. then...DANG!!...that's one sweet lookin' piece of hotas...pun intended. I have an ancient Saitek X52 joystick which I bough more than 10 years ago but still kicks ass, but sadly I need to find a replacement PS2 cable though since I forgot where I put it (i.e. the wife stuck it somewhere where sun don't shine I suppose). The point is that the throttle on the X52 has a knob on the side that lets you adjust the amount of force you have to apply to the throttle to move it, it also has a stop-notch just before going into afterburner. I see the X56 also has a knob on the left side of the throttle, doesn't it adjust the resistance of the throttle when you push it ? This model seems very similar to my X52 so might share some similarities...just a thought

Hey Denis thxs for responding, ya it does have the tension knob but it seems to back off in use. I like the throttle tight I find it easier for fine increments, and sadly the X56 hasn't got the afterburner stop-notch. With my other birds the throttle has a longer travel before after burner kicks in so I got used to it mussel memory so to speak. But the MIG 29 I'm hitting after burner at half throttle, as to the others that same throttle position is dam near idle. So I was hoping any X56 viewers have any ideas or have the same issue. As for the X56 MACH I like it, Had it almost a year works as it should, wish it had that notch you spoke about though. They upgraded the sensors and wiring and got rid of blue black color. Black and silver grey now! I recommend it if ya cant afford a Wart Hog! More buttons than You need for DCS witch is a good thing. Even more than the Hog! well thxs again Keep your stick on the ice! by the way my call sign is Furybeaver if ya ever see me in the VR skies, no worries I'm a missile magnet! Have a good one Hoss!

hey man, no with the mig and really all russian aircraft with the exception of the mig21 you have something called an electro optical system, which is the circular thing sitting on the nose right in front of the cockpit, so basically it uses heat signatures to find targets, so you dont send out radiation with ur radar, and his radar can't show u on his RWR. but you can track him with his heat signature. its only draw back is that it has a very low range. so it only works well at close ranges.

@@GrowlingSidewinder This is really cool! But it does not help you "locating", at all does it? It does not show you where it sees heat, it just lets you lock people without the radar, correct? Or does it assist in finding targets aswell?

its actually very good at "locating" it uses the heat to tell you where he is, and locks him and can even fire heat seeking missiles with it. its a very silent death if used correctly. another draw back is that it doesnt have IFF, as far as i know, obvs it can't tell if the heat is coming off a friend of foe. so u do need visual confirmation if you have any doubts if hes friend or foe, which shouldn't too hard considering it only really works at low ranges.

IF you lock up a target, it will show on your hud with this EO system. But it wont in a pitch black night act like a radar and go - "look i see something here". You have to tell it where to look, then if there is heat and you are close, it locks up, right?

no problem man, Yes it will do that, it works just like a radar in that sense, u can just let it scan and it will say look i see something there, and then u can choose to lock it up. just short range.
