Was in Balkh and Kunduz Province late 19 into early 20. Regardless of the opinions of the war, to me it was an absolutely gorgeous country. Now I get to explore it like I've wanted to since my return. Thank you, Eagle Dynamics, as you've given me a chance at something I've wanted!

@@RobertBerrier it'll change with the chinook. you'll be able to see them walking in and out of the back of the heli and also sitting inside. I don't know if that means that the infantry will get an update all together with the drop of the chinook but they did say it was in the works for 24-25 so sometime soon we should be getting an update on them so they don't just run around single file and get mowed down easily

Updated ground AI? The soldier runs for cover at 0:54 and the soldier at 1:37 shoots while running backward

I'd be curious to see if they've been updating that too. I know in past videos it was a bit of "trickery" with scripting and giving the AI move points.

It'd be neat if vehicles could hunt helicopters too. In Gunship! vehicles could creep up on you (obviously less possible against fast jets).

Both trailers are awesome and really showcase the map well, flew for hours today on it, low and high, helicopters mostly to see detail. I am impressed and excited to see how this progresses. I uploaded a video and looks as expected from the trailers. Thank you for this map and early access at that.... remember people, EARLY ACCESS!

When spawning airport pavement will not load and all airfields are basically grass strips. After taking off anf gaining some altitude, I can see pavement, once on the ground its all grass again. Is anyone else having this issue? I have deleted and reinstalled.

Yes, you know how to make the best maps. What vegetation, what sand, what beautiful grass! But ground ruptures and explosions of armored vehicles greatly spoil this picture. But the theater of war still looks incredibly cool!

Does the Afghanistan map have Quick Missions for multiple Jets? I'm thinking F-16C in particular. We don't have many for the South Atlantic map yet but we have a few new ones for the Kola Peninsula with the new Winter textures which is great!

Huh? While Microsoft can recreate a wider variety of types it's still pretty limited, and that's also something they're working on for DCS. As far as rendering goes, I've found DCS to be much better. The biggest issue with the MSFS ones is that they tend to have a yellow color palette and/or are way too dark even under direct sunlight

I appreciate the effort and hope people will enjoy this landscape. I, however, will probably be giving it a miss. I have seen enough deserts and brown mountains to last me a lifetime. Although Kola is far from finished, I don't fly anywhere else now.
