As a current CH-47F avionics mechanic, I believe you need to change the collective to "thrust" not "power". This is not only that it is referred to by everyone in the Chinook community, but it's also in the manuals as well.
I'm stoked! It will be cool once the dfcs is implemented. Also, no Boeing or block resets, dead batteries from maintenance crews running the apusha, or trashed out lct's and dash actuators. 😂😂
In the RAF, we do not call the third crewman a flight engineer,that flight badge is very rare now. The wear the LM Loadmaster brevet,(1/2 wing). They do get training in basic engineering for land away duties, but their job is more to do with supervising the loading, winch duties and talking the pilots into landing areas. I can not wait, I only fly helicopters, I'm huge into logistics and troop transport now. I can't imagine the time I'll put in with the hook... designed for what I dedicate my time to already. Stoked. Also excited to help find whatever needs addressing to help the future updates. That's half of what EA is for... remember this people!
As a kid it was a treat to occasionally see RAF Chinooks flying and the excitement of seeing them as a child has solidified the Chinook as one of my favourite helicopters of all time. I cannot wait to fly logi in this beast with my Kiowa and Apache escort friends.

Really hope this leads to a refresh on the HIP folding back in the logistics that the CH47 brings in. The hook is going to be a great addition and the story style videos people will produce will be epic.

Thrust Lever, not Power Lever. Hate to be that guy lol love the content as always, Wags! I'm a CH-47F pilot, and we're very proud of the fact that it's called the thrust lever.... sounds way cooler. Also, can confirm. The 47F is incredibly easy to fly when the AFCS is on. Greatly looking forward to this module!
At least on video, the cockpit perspective and seemingly easy handling made me forget that you have another 45 feet of fuselage behind you! She's a big girl with even more grace :3
Can't wait for more logistics in terms of quantity, quality and complexity in DCS. The introduction of "the hook" and "fat albert" combined with the, in my opinion, outstanding afghanistan map, and furthermore DCSDC will probably lead to me not doing fireworks anymore 😅 Great work, thanks for this. I'm incredibly excited to see the upcoming videos on the screen pages and navigation, the Chinook will be amazing for many DCS MP servers that implement cargo & troop scripting. Similar to the F-16C Roadmap, will we potentially see one as well for the CH-47F regarding the pending EA features at launch?
Did I understand correctly that on the real bird only the aft right (not left) wheel steers? How does that work with the aft left wheel - does it lock/free-spin with the aft right wheel (like the wheels on a Home Depot cart) and, unlike the aft right wheel, is just not powered by the hydraulic steering actuator? I guess it's a clever weight saving for a big helicopter; imagine engineering a car like that 😅
How could you give us a CH47-F without LCTs? Please take your time guys.... I don't mind if the module is ready only in 2025. Before doing a tutorial about TAXI, it's also very important to talk about the DCP and why we shall never ever move the cyclic forward whilst taxiing. We don't care about RWR, we just want to fly something that flies like a CH-47 F. My tutorials will have to wait 😢

@@MattWagner Yeah I don't envy the coders XD. Hover down and CPLD modes will be cool later on. I'm not gonna lie I like when modules don't come out with all the features because it gets you to learn the module bit by bit.
Any specific reason why you have to keep renaming controls per aircraft? 3:00 he says "we had to rename [the collective] to power lever". Why?? This isn't the only aircraft that has the same surface as other aircraft but is named differently. It adds confusion and ED provides 0 reasoning for it.

A little off topic - but for those with simpler controls (ie. xbox/playstation controllers), can we one day get per-module throttle/collective button sensitivity sliders in Special settings? Thanks for putting these CH-47 videos together!
Okey, thanks for the reply. Would be nice to have that immersion, there were times I managed to put down a damaged aircraft out in the field, but that was it. Off to "select role" menu.
