Coming this winter is the apex of combat simulation software: The Heatblur F-14 Tomcat. Pre-order now for 10% off and jump in the cockpit solo or with a friend come launch day! store.heatblur.com
I must say after 2 years of flying with this plane, what the Heatblur guys put together is nothing short of a masterpiece. Hands down the best, most detailed module in DCS.
Same. The first DCS aircraft I am really interested in since a long time. F18 wasnt for me, despite the hypetrain, but this is ... wow. Its just something else.
@@wildwind4456 you are on crack if you think the f-22 isn’t a capable replacement for the tomcat. It’s more then proven its airframe in maneuverability testing. Last September we already used f-22s in the east to defend nearby carrier strike groups as testing for how the f-22 would perform as a naval interception role.
When I watched this trailer, I had just finished re-reading Red Storm Rising, in which Clancy masterfully showed the vulnerability of carriers and the immense lengths at which the opposing forces would go to neutralize them, which made the chilling "Vampire! Vampire! Vampire!" ending of this cinematic trailer hit way harder than any anti-ship missile ever could.
The funny thing is, the US Navy fleets are even less capable of defending themselves in the modern day versus back when the Tomcats were still flying. The Hornets have less range and ordnance-carrying ability than the Tomcats ever did, and carrier combat airwings are smaller now than they were then. Expect to hear a lot of "Vampire! Vampire! Vampire!" in real life if CVGs see combat again. RIP Tom Clancy.
Man, so many of the establishing shots are lifted straight out of iconic shots from Top Gun, obviously flittering with the nostagia bones of so many fans. Bravo.
i still come back to watch this. especially the music and the scene at 0:23 is probably the most dramatic reveal ive ever seen of something. heatblur really knew what they were doing in every corner of the tomcat and its presentation. love it to death yall
I was a photographer in the Navy 1980-1990. I was in the second deployed F14 Squadron with the TARPS pods. VF143 Pukin' Dogs on the IKE. I was surprised to see the TARPS pod as part of this module. I just may have to pull the trigger on this one. Looks amazing. I can tell you at first the pilots hated the pod. Nothing like taking off with only a couple of sidewinders. Had to load two dummy sparrows on the forward underside stations to get the center of gravity right. The pod mounted rear starboard weapons station. My biggest fear was having a arresting wire break when I was under the F14 removing the film after recovery. No place to go, just hope it missed you.
If you look at history, all the records and privileges of the F-14 are assigned to Iranian pilots. The best pilot of F-14 is Galilee Zandi's captain. His name is in Guinness Book.
شهریار پارسی I’m sure Iranian pilots flew the f14 but not all of the f14s were Iranian it was our plane which we had many great pilots and aces flying them
It is also a dear friend ... We are proud of Iranians to F-14s and also to their creators ... God is protecting your people and our people. Whether you go to Guinness Book of Guinea, the highest records have been registered by Iranian pilots in Box 14. Also, F 5. ... F4..For captain Galilee Zandi pilot.
You know what would be super cool? If matsimus decided that he was interested in trying out DCS... I mean, caucasus and two aircraft are free to try so... *wink*
@@Kevin-yh8ol, wich one are you talking about?? It certainly can't be the SU-25t because of how capable it is, and yet I wouldn't call a fully accurate TF-51with a PFM a "pos" just because it isn't armed.
Sadly it looks like we won't be getting the better F-14 variant, the F-14D, because of a lack of enough publicly available data on it to develop with. That's a Phoenix-Missile-sized shame.
@@bryannparker5791 Logistics is the backbone of any armed force. Fighter jocks can't fly if they don't get their spare parts like rubber dog shit out of hong kong. Jokes aside. It's gotta be a mission.
Yea the rendering is great! cant wait to get this. I launched tommies (and everything else) off the waist of Connie (CV-64) from 84-90. Our F-14A's were actually quite shiny & pretty, not so weathered looking even though many were already a decade old. The squadron guys & plane captains worked their asses off to keep their birds top knotch like it was their personal sports car. I hope DCS includes (in addition to the Backfire's), adversary Bear's, Badger's, Fishbed's, Flogger's, Fencer's, Foxbat's, Fulcrum's and especially Flanker's. I only wish (hope) we can customize the Tomcat squadrons and associated livery. We had the Freelancer's (VF-21) & The Black Knights (VF-154) on our boat.
The maneuverability is spot on. Could not believe it is all generated. GE-110 engines making 60,000 lbsf of thrust at Mach 0.9. This is going to be insane.
Not gonna lie I’m gonna order this so I can relieve top gun. F-14 is such an iconic plane and it’s great to see how much work and effort you guys put in to make it all happen.
Ok, this is how you Fing do marketing.. Nice job fellas... I’ve been playing DCS for a decade and haven’t been excited for a new mod for most of that time, but this I’m excited for.
They have really knocked the ball out of the park with the trailers lately. DCS 2.5 trailer rivals the amazing Falcon BMS "This is Why We Fight" trailer, F-18, Harrier, F-14, Viggen, etc. All of the trailers are epic. Whoever is doing the music and editing for these is worth every penny. This takes me back to the 90's when flight simulators had such amazing trailers. It reminds me of the excitement of first seeing the trailer for Air Combat on Playstation but the visuals here are unbelievable. Amazing how far we've come graphically and technologically to recreate such a beautiful thing digitally.
Heatblur, you guys and gals have completely blown every other aircraft in the game completely out of the water, and set a new level of quality for future modules. I have never been as hyped as I am right now, and by gods, its all thanks you amazing bastards! =D Now pardon me while I go listen one of Kenny Loggin's greatest hits... if you know what I mean... >u>
well we are under pressure from copyrights laws and shit... by now is so restrictive if you put a goodnight song in your video YT call Terminator and will kill your video, your channel, you and all your family.
I simply can't wait for it, so... here's my money, Heatblur ! That must have been quite a journey, and the result simply looks incredible. Congratulations to the team !
I keep watching this video. I cannot WAIT. It's something about the sight of this bird sitting on deck when they film it it turning and linings up for cat shots that is breathtaking. Like a predator waiting to strike.
Still the best-looking aircraft that has ever been made. Edit: Grumman, what is best in flight? To spray your enemies, See them driven before you and hear the lamentation of their engines!
LIKWID they can’t do it, because you can’t sell something unusable, so the preorder, it’s just like buying your cinema tickets before going to watch a movie, you have to wait until the cinema opens
@II./JG77_Con AMD A-10 9600P, RADEON R5 2.40 GHz, 12 GB RAM. It's a cheap laptop that I added more RAM to. Runs DCS on minimum settings okay, but heats up, sometimes crashes, and still too slow to be worth spending money on it.
For anyone else with the same question about performance, I just found relevant info on their reddit AMA and it seems it's tuned to standard DCS World requirements: www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/9m758d/heatblur_dcs_f14ab_tomcat_reveal_ama/e7cfgy7/
2:02 you know the scary thing about this? Vampire means that a anti ship missile has been fired at a allied ship. Ripple means multiple. Only a Nimitz would have a chance at surviving that
