What they changed with the gears, is when you have the stick pulled and then raised gear simultaneously, the plane would end up jerking or pulling harder. They also fixed the yaw oscillation at high speeds when flying low.
Yeah, they've added the blend between gears down and up and vice versa. Just have to be that extra bit cautious as to not over-G the gear (I think 2g is the limit)
I think that adverse yaw on landing is what is also causing control issues below 250 with the gear up. Over all I love the changes, I’m a little dubious over the yaw dampening however..
This update has generally made the FM more realistic, esp. in terms of pitch rate & stability, there no more being the unrealistic overshoot to undershoot oscilation during max pitch commands. However there does seem to be an issue with the rudder and stability in yaw, as you noticed with all of that adverse yaw youexperienced. Im sure this will be fixed soon.
@@FLYGaffer Yeah I did some testing last night between the two updates and I can definitely see the difference when doing BFM and flying slower. Did some strafing runs at about .8 mach and yeah she is gets stable after about a second into the trigger pull now.
Given the quality of your videos, I would really like to see also other planes other than the most popular, like the AV-8B and the Mirage 2000 I think are great modules with very little content about them. So you have any plans for future videos?
Just an FYI you have Drift C/O activated for part of the video so the FPM isn't very accurate, it's been bugged for a long while. I also highly recommend doing a high AoA roll going less than 300kts and watching it go out of control
From what I understand, you really shouldn't be strafing at 200 knots, you should be up around 400 knots. Mainly because you are risking getting you butt shot off at 200 knots.
A note posted by Wags on the Viper mini-updates thread prior to this patch read: “DFLCS gun compensation has been improved in roll and yaw when slow” So I was interested to see how it performed when slow. It seems from my highly unscientific first impression that it still slices to the left at low speeds.
