I swear you exist in the future & work from there, only way to explain your efficiancy haha. Nicely put together. Now lets see how much the brain remembers when I officially wake up (4am here lol)
I just got this and I am really struggling on the taxi/takeoff. I just don't have it down yet. Getting better but it kind of threw me for a loop! One of the best things I found is to really dial in the axis tuning. Smooth things out and like you said, nice and slow. Too fast and you begin the pilot induced oscillation and then you're hosed. Nice video and one I will be coming back to for refreshers.
Just to let you know, I do not own the DCS Mosquito at this time, but I still watched the video because I am curious about that bird and I was sure I would get a great intro from you. Thank you !
Thanks man, this is great. I shall use this as my learning bible. Before watching your video I thought my joystick was broken because of the slight right directional input I had to apply but after watching your joystick inputs I can see that it's the flight model! Many thanks!
Nice video, sir. A plethora of information that were not showed in other videos I saw. Of all great information provided, the little thingie on the radio was a winner for me.
I just bought the module and your video was the first thing i looked up to. thank you for your in depth tutorial of this beautiful bird, looking forward to your Mosquito campaign!
EAF51 thanks You very much for this amazing tutorial; the 51st virtual Wing is Italian and I've translated to simplify the operations for my flight Companions and Pilots. Now is the time to put into practice all the various phases of ignition, taxi, take-off ... and above all landing and end of mission.
This is the first of your vids I've seen. Fantastic instructions. I like it when you explain WHY you employ certain procedures because it sticks in my brain better. (subscribed). I have yet to do a successful Mossie take off. This should help a lot.
Very helpful. The mosquito is a two crew aircraft, ED could well have released it with a multi crew capability like the Tomcat or the Apache. Thanks for this. It explains a lot of the details. How do you stop the Artificial Horizon from toppling in flight?
@@ReflectedSimulations More than the use of weapons system I mean the correct glide to bomb, how to approach targets, more from the tactical and procedural approach... :)
Hi there ! Just subscribed to your Channel, even though I've done a few of your campaign a while ago. Thanks for the different tutorials, very interesting. I was just wondering about the throttle opening when shutting down the engine, supposed to bring fuel in the cylinders (You stated the same thing in the Spit vid). Are you sure about that ? Cause to me, the reason the engine stops is precisely because it runs out of fuel as you cuttoff the fuel valves. As a private pilot, I've been told that opening the throttle when shutting down the engine is preciselyy to burn off all of the remaining fuel in the feed line. But that doesn't make sense either now I'm thinking about it, as you already starve your engine with the cuttoff valve. Hm...
Great vid, first time viewer, looking forward to following. Can’t wait to get on with this as I’ve been holding off. Ready to get a new rig. Can you share your machine specs? Thank you and thanks for the great tutorial.
Few questions on rewatch if I may sir, 1) would it be likely the outer tanks would run dry on warm up? Is that the reason for switching to inner? Was just thinking it would be better running outers down as much possible on ground first as they sound less useful in air. 2) is that oiling of engine process simular with the Anton applying magnetos after flywheel then kicking engine over? Most tutorials had mags on before flywheel so was curious if this was something you basing off for that too. 3) when you say trim axis on warthog that's grey lever on throttle quad yeah? I usually have that religiously for zoom, how do you manage that on yours? Looks like you have it on axis also. 4) is it mainly on takeoff you would use split throttle or would that be applied in combat too? Wondering if could lock throttles after takeoff. Shame they haven't added new ground crew voiceover for primmer instead of stock run starter Thanks again
1) not likely, they have 2x50 gallons. You use them for startup because the primers are connected to those. Not sure why you switch to the inner tanks on warmup, maybe to make sure they work. 2) Yes 3) Yes. I always use 2 buttons on my stick to zoom in and out. 4) Yes, mainly, or taxiing, or when one engine is damaged. Yeah, new VOs would have been nice, with British accent no less :)
@@ReflectedSimulations the A10 is an absolute joy, definitely worth the hours spent poring over the 500 page manual to figure out how configure the spin rate of a cluster bomblet for optimal dispersal :)
Q: If Im just cruising to tgt at say 15k ft should I use the auto Super Charger or leave it to manual until I need it? Is it all just boost? Is 7 boost ok for just cruising? Also, even with master switch off I still get voltage. Why does the British Govt always choose the most difficulty passible way of doing things? Pilot: "Toe Brakes?" Govt: "Naw, thats too easy. Try this differential handbrake instead." I love this bird and didnt think I would. The radios are amazing. Another great tut dude much appreciated!
Hi Reflected, this aircraft is so awesome I can't put it down! Your videos are so informative and I'm gradually getting through them. I have seen it posted that the Mossie is so unstable in the yaw and all the reasons why, I to have have this to a point even after checking all the settings, how do you get yours so stable? When I come out of a sideslip (fun) I'm almost doing a left and right ground loop at a 1000 feet! Any pointers would be appreciated
Hey thanks. As for the Mossie the yaw is pretty stable. Just make sure you set an adequate curve depending on what pedals you use. It’s the pitch that’s a bit bugged IMO.
Cheers for the pointer just hope the learning curve stays vertical. Of course the secondary effect of yaw is roll. So tweaked all axis got 90% improvement, now to rest brain cells for a tad. @@ReflectedSimulations
Great Vid , Subbed. I have a question though : I only Have a Thrustmaster T-Flight jot stick (So its single throtle ) what do i need to bind for both throttles on this Stick, cheers as i can't find it.
With my flying jacket slung over my shoulder it wouldn't be the intel officer I would be going to see. ;) I wasn't going to buy this but going from the Wolfpack campaign, maybe just maybe, oh damn - probably...
They're doing it incorrectly, then. It's always: throttle down, then RPM down // RPM up the throttle up, otherwise you risk overboosting the engine. It's true for all aircraft, not jsut the Mossie.
I saw it too and bought it immediately. It's OK, but not exceptionally good. Quite 'factual' and dry, and that I don't like. But it gives you some insight into Mosquito ops during WW2.
Hi, Question on the Mosquito module please. I see in several videos that when the aiming reticle is on, the pilot sight moves in front of it. The option is enabled in the menu but does not work in flight. Could this be a VR issue?
How do you set the throttle's left and right on the warhog because both mine get the same code I can't do it, what am I doing wrong any help thank you very much
Thanks for the video. Does the gear lever catch need releasing to get it to move? Did you have it bound to a button? It seemed like I have to click it before the gear will move. Thanks.
Yes, I bound it to a key. G for the lock, shift G to move the lever up, ctrl G to move it down. That's what's logical to me, but that's just personal preference
@@ReflectedSimulations Thanks for that, not a bad plan. edit: Actually, G for the lock should work quite well. My TQ has 6 up/down buttons on it so I'll use 3 of them for the 3 levers on the instrument panel, and that frees G up for toggling the latch, thanks. Hopefully do something similar with the flaps latch as well.
@@blockheadgreen_ how do I not, though? I find myself pushing max forward stick all the time just to get level flight, and I still have to bank left or right just to get the nose down a bit, because there's almost no forward input on that stick.
@@ReflectedSimulations you have a different game than me. When I go to main menu I have GAME, FLIGHT INTERFACE, KEY MAPPING, INPUT DEVICES, GRAPHICS, CAMERA, SOUND, MULTIPLAYER
In your tutorial on the Spitfire you mention the DCS engine cooling model being broken (engine cools down too much in cruise flight). Does the Mosquito have the same problem? Also, in a lot of DCS videos I see one Mosquito engine smoking quite badly, I think it's usually the left. Did this also happen for real? Any idea what causes this?
@@Rudysmismans no, boost is the manifold pressure, the more throttle you apply to any engine, the higher the boost. Rpm is controlled by the prop lever.
