If you are into the book reading, I recommend the series Destroyermen series. It's about a American destroyer basically having the same thing happen to it, but it gets sent to an alternate Earth that never quite made it out of the Jurassic period.
Well done. Always liked how the Tomcats pinned their ears back (6:09), so to speak, when going into attack mode in the movie. It was, still is, the visual epitome a fighter aircraft in my eyes. That said, I'd love to see the Rafale make its way into the DCS world.
8:48 minutes pure enjoyment 😊 Awesome editing, those "flashbacks" while landing where soooo good! And the wings sweeping back scene gave me Goosebumps!
I really needed the “hey Fox, that woke ‘em up!” pass. The Captain Yelland line “this is Eagle One: you are cleared to arm, but do not fire. Draw them off, play with them...but DO NOT FIRE” would have been nice to toss in there too. But it probably would have resulted in some stupid copyright strike.
Oops, the scenes where the F14s and the Zeros buzz the freighter, it had " sea cans " onboard, but they had not been invented at that point in time. But it's an amazing vid with incredible effects! Bravo.
Amazing job just have to say that saying it was 1941 and seeing a few tomcats is quite strange taking into account that even the nimitz was built on 1968 but overall an amazing job
Time index 6:03 - Eagle control, this is Alert One. We spot two Focke-Wulf 190s … they look brand-new. Kirk Douglas/Eagle Control responds, “You what? Have they seen you?” Alert One responds, “Negative. We’re high above their six o’clock!”
Love the clip but the Nimitz wasn’t even a ship in 1941 Nimitz wasn’t even significant yet. Also you showed the Stenos not the Nimitz. And the F-14 didn’t come into production until the 80’s so... yeah. But great film.
3:00 it says 1941 but ww2 ended in 1945 and last time i checked the f-14 tomcat was created in 1974 and the U.S.S Nimitz in 1972 soo... unrealisti- wait time travel!!?
Considering that WW2 war birds reached speeds of up to 650 km/h and dive bombing even higher speeds, are more manoeuvrable and have a way smaller heat signature, an excellent pilote maybe less over sea, but in a valley area might actually have a small chance against jets that also dog fight only below mach, if he'd had balls big enough and no budget...lol
They should make a sequel where this screwed up the timeline so badly that they sent us back in time again to destroy our own F-14's and murder everyone on the carrier in order to preserve the grandfather paradox and save the universe.
@Keller Dominik, Hey I am putting something together myself right now. How did you get both the zeros and tomcats to split like that? Did you use ai? or 4 players?
its been a long time since the last vid, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Awesome as usual - so cool! Thank you Dominik and keep save (und vor Allem xund)
Now we need the A6 and A7 to make a proper strike force to send against the Japanese fleet. And this time, WE’RE NOT LETTING SOME STUPID STORM SEND US BACK BEFORE THE JOB IS DONE.
I really needed the “hey Fox, that woke ‘em up!” pass. The Captain Yelland line “this is Eagle One: you are cleared to arm, but do not fire. i love how the Tomcat from 40 years after the war almost got shot down by a shitty Zero :D i remember though feeling so cheated by this movie when i first saw it. i wanted to see the anti ship strike they were preparing and the battle it would have been. such a huge fucking tease :D
That and the F14 cannot carry AIM54 Phoenix in the rear two tunnel slots without the front two Phoenix pallets being installed... so no sparrows in front of AIM54s. The front pallets contain the cooling apparatus for the front and rear pallet. No front pallet, no cooling on a rear mounted missile. That's why the 3x2x2 load existed... 3 sparrows (wing pylons and one far back in the tunnel) 2 AIM9 on the wing pylons and two Phoenix missiles on the front two pallets. I wish DCS was more restrictive on load outs.
