DCS: Syria Map - Hind Over Latakia 

Indeed, Ugra has done a fantastic job.

It would be perfect to implement code that would allow the player to activate his laptop camera or a third part camera attached to his monitor to give the pilot head tracking! Theres no reason not implement this as it add a great deal of immersion. Star citizen does this to great effect. Microsoft has not implemented this and it a deal killer for many of us.

@@taccntb4345 might be biased because I am a VR user, but I rather prefer the route of incremental improvement over time instead of changing things in order to implement a feature that a 3rd party app will almost certainly be more fit for.

@@taccntb4345 Star citizen's head tracking isnt that great but ok. I think this isnt a deal breaker for very many people at all. I use a vr headset and its VERY immersive you should try it

@@TheJackelantern MSFS usually looks garbage when close to the ground....I prefer the modern maps in DCS (syria/channel)

hopefully it is better than the water on Persian Gulf ... with waves coming thru the ground inland ....

Ive been waiting for over a year and Ill be my first DCS purchase. Can't wait till I get my hands on the Hind.

When is the Kiowa scheduled for release? Can’t wait to get my hands on it. Been a huge fan of the helicopter since my younger years thanks to the movie Firebirds 😂

@@plokkum Polychop said that they are looking for december, but a earlier release is possible. From what I heard is that they have a maximum of 5 months to go, including evaluation of bell. Obviously nothing is set in stone yet.

it's pretty good, far from perfect though. When is this set in? I remember hearing someone say DCS is suppose to be 2004ish. But at that time, this airbase was little more than a landing strip and a few helicopters. So it must be modern day, especially with the revetments on the west end of the base, which were built a year ago. The S-300 site he shows is an S-75 site in real life. The S-400 site and several other air defenses at the airbase are missing, so are a few vehicle yards. I look at this site and the surrounding area a lot for my work.

@@grobbs666 DCS is not in a specific time through. Just take a look at Normandy, The Channel, Las Vegas and Gulf of Oman.

Bravo Sierra DCS isn’t necessarily set in a specific year. Whenever I build a mission in the mission editor, I usually set the date to today’s date.

@@Knightfang1 awesome! I have project files of every military and missile site in most the middle east, so I like to create an accurate world when playing things like the Persian Gulf map. Cant wait to do it with Syria! It should be a fun map. So many real world events to copy and play out from every side. Especially things like Israel launching strikes around this area, and Syrias S-300 in the mountains nearby. It would be cool if they added the S-200 (SA-5) to the game, especially with this Syria map. It has such a long range, yet is old enough to counter "relatively" easily. So you'd have to dodge it despite being 100nmi away, but its not a massive threat. I think it would add a good dynamic to the game.

RAZBAM, oops I mean SCAMBAM, has been working on the F15E since 2011 or 2012. Its gonna be a long time

Flyable REDFOR aircraft are a sore subject. The Russian gov is super secretive about aircraft in service, even the older ones. So it's difficult/impossible to find detailed manuals of the aircraft, weapons, and systems. Not to mention there is a legal aspect, so it will have to be a 3rd party developers. The community has been begging for newer, full-fidelity Russian jets, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. In fact - it looks like they are leaning toward the Chinese ones now, like a J-10 being worked on and JF-17 recently released for REDFOR.

Also - given today's shitty geopolitical climate and many of these aircraft being used in wars, I highly doubt they will be looser with modeling in-service aircraft.

But I would LOVE an updated Su 27 or Su 25 with digital systems, MFDs, new weapons, etc
