Yes, I find it to still be fun! More so when you go 1v1 with a Hind and can out maneuver them.

I love all the people who've never been in a helicopter saying it flys like crap because they read it on hoggit

​​@@Blake-jl8lh It does fly like on rails when tuned right, but a helicopter that can fly upside down for extended periods or that can't experience vrs doesn't fly like a real helicopter, and I've flown real helicopters. Satisfied with that response?

Thank you.... I started DCS with the Viper but found it too hard with the setup I had originally. Also not that much of a fan of modern jets (cause most fights are just BVR). I do plan to show modern jet videos in the future but right now I'm just showing more cold war era videos.

I’ve asked him about adding the Mistral to the server when they add a2a missiles to the Hind. Apparently he tried it out and the range for the Mistral missiles are insane! So it was more of a balance decision not to add it

well the gazelle mistral cannot do anything else except for a/a, so i would say it makes quite a bit of sense to allow it to carry very powerful a/a missiles if it is specialized on anti air

@@Blake-jl8lh If I let go of the stick the helicopter levels itsel off like an airplane, the collective has no effect on the helicopter other than adding power and giving lift, the transitions from forward flight into hover feel terrible as in suddenly something clicks and the heli is on a perfect hover, instead of gradual corrections. It's literally impossible to get it into VRS because it's modelled so poorly, you can menouver it in reallly unrealistic ways that IRL would cause rotor departure but in DCS is absolutely no problem. RBS is modeled poorly the heli seems to stop on a dime like it should, but there is little effect on the rotation of the blades, as if it remained unaffacted (the list goes on for a while). The module itself is full of bugs as well, playing with others online was broken for a LONG time.

I have my curvature at 25 but the biggest thing for this helicopter is setting the Y Saturation to around 30 and then see what you like after. This is what gives the aircraft more weight and doesn’t make it feel like a drone

I look at the videos and it helped me so much!

Using the 20mm Hispano with HE rounds on light armor is really fun. It just sucks you have to get in so close for those TOW missiles. You can forget sneaking up on a Tunguska. The multi crew is a help. I have used it to rescue my downed buddies in some mission I build.

would you be a peach and share your settings? also, on the FM, the thing doesn't even vrs.....they might have gotten the maneuverability correct, but it's crummy you ha e to tune the bejesus out of it to get the correct feel, and even then it still does stuff no helicopter does, like fly upside-down, won't vrs, and other neat "tricks" I'm sorry, but even though I personally enjoy this little thing sometimes it is NOT a realistic helicopter.

I totally get the RC feel! I found a video that would help make the heli feel more smoother with a heavier feeling. Go into the settings and set all your rudder, pitch and roll curvature to 25.... NOW THE BIGGEST CHANGE to help make it feel a little bit more real is to change your pitch and roll "Y Saturation" to around 30. I put mine at 25 but for some players it maybe different. I would say that it at least make the heli feel more like the Little Bird in ARMA 3.... and for me play a lot of ARMA 3, I was happy with that!

​@@Blake-jl8lh Last time I gave it a look it didn't even pay lip service to the laws of physics. As a specific example, you could fly upside down for extended periods. With the engine off, it should accelerate at 9.8m/s^2 just from gravity, and with it on even higher. It didn't do that. It would basically glide at full power upside down instead. It was extremely funny and wildly unrealistic. That's just one example, it had a lot more problems. I haven't looked at it in years, maybe it's improved.

I found that changing the Y saturation to around 30 is very good. Gives that heavier feel. Then tweak it to your liking

Would please post your settings and what controllers you use? I'm with you, the things does some dumb shit, but you have to make it do the dumb shit. Thay said, it would be nice if it could experience regular helicopter stuff, like vrs.

Thank you, well I would say start saving up. I’m still running a 5 year old desktop with a 1080 graphics card. Showing it’s age but it still works out for me.

Unfortunately I know a very large part just comes down to the algorithm picking stuff up. Like the 'Idiots learn DCS' video that got 5 million views. The editing is amazing on it, but you're Heat wave video is definitely better. The timing of shots to the beat is extremely badass.

I’m no flight expert but that is what I keep hearing…. I’ve just adjusted the settings to make it feel a little more heavier and not make it feel like your flying a drone! Lol

What he said & the cyclic doesn't recenter the helicopter when the cyclic comes back to center. You would have to counter steer to bring the helo back to level. Always chasing the steering. Not fun.

There are some IRL Gazelle pilots who said the flight model is right. It feels wrong and "arcadie" because this thing is that light weight and powerfull, therefore extreme responsive. Unlike any other helo in game, which are just hanging under the main rotor with all its heavy weight and feeling slower and more "realistic". Another factor could be the players stick and collective hardware he is using.... I also had a rough time getting familiar with the much more sensitive input

Ever flown the real gazelle? As i heard gazelle pilots says otherwise(even claims real thing is more agile)...
