Yeah I’m still yet to get it to work as of yet too mate. My D/L doesn’t seem to connect to the ship but I haven’t really looked into it too much. Once I figure it out I’ll do one for sure mate 👌🏻
Perfect timing as I'm getting back into the seat of the F/A-18 after a longer pause and want to make sure to get everything down again correctly. Your tutorials were immensely helpful and nicely in-depth but not too dry either!
Make sure you press the D/L button twice to get everything on the SA page. I just came back to it also and the D/L did not seem to work, but the first press is for carrier landings and the second press is the normal.
Never been able to get these to work, would love to know what I'm doing wrong. None of that info / mode stuff under Prog 1 shows up on the stores page; the mode button appears not to do anything.
Dude glad you're feeling better! Maybe it's because I only play single player, so no one other than the AI to coordinate attacks with, I've found the Harpoons frustrating. Have you tried the Walleye? Two will sink the Moskva, and two plus a few rounds of 20mm will sink the Kuznetsov. And because it's a bomb and not a missile, they won't engage it.
Walleye is not bad either but you have to remain kinda closish overhead to be in range to hit your target. If a ship has air defences it can pose a problem for you, but if you can avoid that then yeah she’s a beefy bit of kit for sure. Harpoon does get shot down pretty easily and doesn’t seem to have the hitting power that it’s IRL counterpart does but who knows… Yeah on the mend now, still got a bit of a cough but apart from that I feel almost back to 100%
Tank person here. Just a question, I know DCS is as accurate as it can be with flight sims, but how are the weapons? Any that does know is this how the Harpoon is really used? When he got to the using of waypoints, it started to feel a bit far fetched. Really curious.
Submarines I’d say would have to be a laser guided bomb and guide it in to the target or even potentially a SLAM/ER, something you can use to steer it onto the target
@@TorniQuetHD In meantime the Harpoon DID work in campaign (Persian Lion) on a sub. But not in Editor... SLAM ER might be quite hard to use for sub ( i think you need a pre planned waypoint and cam is quite bad to recognize it in time i guess). So Harpoon just a bit buggy i think in DCS but the right weapon.
Yeah that is the trade off with them and why they are so dangerous… once fired they are their own boss and will lock onto anything they can find. You can only really limit it’s search angle and try and make the missile come in and have the ship you want to hit directly in front of it to make the radars life easier and less confusing but even then it is still luck if it hits the ship you’re intending
@@chelsealampard07 is prob still go with R/BL as you can give it a range of the target ship as well as bearing to fly in on. The more information you can give the missile on where the target is the better chance you’ll have of hitting the correct one.
