Old tomcat AI model has some glitches, When the new one comes in along with the Tomcat module they will be replaced.

Exactly same issue I am having except I've been trying this mission for about 2 weeks (about 30 trys all together)

​@@tophmcgoph9229Can confirm trying it multiple times yesterday (5 tries), Shield and SEAD are on their own program. Even if they take out the SA-6s, the SA-9s in the convoy pack make quick work of me inside 2 miles. They must have made changes to the AI over time, because the way this guy strolls onto the target is not how it plays now.

You can move the mission folder out of the folder it is in and put it in a folder to create yourself, say on the desktop. Then you can go in and edit it to get rid of the fog. I beleive it's a bug from the latest update.

Of course, but then I couldn't hear what was being said, So when my Wingman calls a missile launch I wouldn't know and then I woudl die. You can mute just about any sound in the cockpit of an aircraft, but doing so is a great way to get yourself killed fast.

I have the same problem man. I just dont know what to do. I even finally learned how to use countmeaseures and evades sam rocktes which I find currious that it target me out of those many F14 flying not that far infront of me! Then I try to kill BMPs and they shoot me me to shit when I approach on them. Its like WTF? I know I am noob, but first mission was kind of very easy and second one is like a nightmare :D

@@sefin84 exactly. I honestly have no idea. I can evade the sams and guns but I can't get a stable enough approach to drop the bombs without getting shot

I did it with the try after my post :D I waited a bit on carrier then joined behind F14s. I had 20k alt and when I approached target I did aggressive dive and released the whole payload on BTRs. I didnt get too low and this time they didnt shoot at me. Now I have the same problem with mission 3 :D But I guess I will do it in the same approach as the mission is very similar to mission 2. I am a DCS Noob. The circular screen on the left DDI. I can get it up by selecting EW but I don’t get anything on it or any alerts/warnings. Have I missed a setting to display the radar sources being displayed?

i just read you can fix it in the mission editor. It happened when they updated the cloud system

Yes I had permission to land and as you saw I didn't get a wave off when the tomcat came strolling in so the approach was mine.

Superbug is still in pretty new by the standards of DCS, I wouldn't be expecting a module on it for quite some time.

Personally, I'd go for the Tomcat too, but both are going to be good buys.

Both, but basically: Tomcat is tougher to fly/learn, but more powerful in air to air, Hornet is better at ground attack and easier to fly/learn, and has a lot more functionality in terms of electronics etc. So if you want to do air to air and want a challenge, Tomcat. If you want easier to fly and groundpound, Hornet. But honestly, get both when you can.

Not far from it, The whole point of DCS is to be as close to reality as is possible.

No it wasn't, this was from 2018 when there was a known bug with the Hornet (A bug in a DCS aircraft, big surprise I know) where pretty much all bombs would be marked dud regardless of if they where armed or not. This is actually one of the reasions I really don't make too many videos for DCS anymore, I'm forever having to go back and explain that I did a thing a way becase at the time X feature was bugged or otherwise broken or simply didnt exist on the aircraft at the time. I've had a couple of messages recently on my very early Hornet videos asking me why I used the override rather than the countermeasures page to set up countermeasures and telling me that im doing it wrong. Of course there was no countermeasures page when the Hornet rolled out, (the time I made those videos) the override was the only way to arm countermeasures for about 4 months until it was added. Thanks for the complement on the flying though.
