I find it funny every time you look at the pilots seat and that little flag saying the ejection seat isn't armed is still up. Though considering yours wasn't either that probably doesn't help

I had a dream where I was playin Roblox in VR, building a car engine. I look over and Jabbers is sitting in a fake cockpit made out of cardboard with a pilot helmet. I said "Oh shit it's Jabbers, what's up dude" and he said "Shut the fuck up, your mic is so noisy." I don't even play Roblox.

Well if all missions are like that i think i could do the RIO job ;)On another note turning engines to secondary apeared to stop the engine trouble you guys where having. Tried it in desparation as it was getting worse and i thought they where about to die on me. Seemed to cure the issue :)

People keep saying that the AI launches at max range .. well they only do that if you don't tell them when and how. In the basic editor under the advanced waypoints there are the rules of engagement. You can set the ai to fire at max range, optimal range, or at no escape range. you can basically make an ai team to be a horrible bvr opponent from this point of view. one launches at max range so you get defensive the other on launches at deadly no escape.. you just need to do a few more clicks :)

The clouds and enviroment lightning looks incredible. Do you run any mods for that? I run default DCS Caucasus map and it looks a bit cartoonish and out-dated.

Why does the horizon line on the HUD show 5 degrees and not 0? Is that right?

The HUD is offset 5 degrees cause of the heading tape. Welcome to the first version of a HUD, pretty much every F-14 pilot ive heard from said they never used the HUD except for AA and AG cues, it was not a primary flight indicator, the glass dials were.

You see that big ass screen below the HUD, the VDI? It's there because the HUD serves nearly no purpose for navigation beyond having a quick way to know your heading. Trust the VDI, you can even turn the HUD off for anything that doesn't involve combat.

Huh? Horizon line shows no numbers. That is 0. Then you have a +5 and a -5. What screen are you looking at? Check at 3:56 for a bit while he taxis. You can see the horizon line and the + and - 5.

@Power5 The +5 is the line typically on the horizon once you are in the air. It's typically the line you can reference your TVV on to see if you are level (if you dont wanna look at the VDI or your other instruments.

Think of it like this... the HUD on the f-14 is not what we have in modern jets, like the f-18. It’s not displaying a “hud” it’s displaying an instrument. The ADI is being shown on the hud. But it’s not being superimposed on the exterior of the cockpit. Both the wing brackets, and the small cross at the top of the hud, show “bore sight.” The cross is a bit above the actual horizon. The wing brackets are a bit above the horizon line as well.... but the ADI is being displayed “on the ground.” You still have to go “eyes in” to read the hud. But the systems all work compared to the actual physical “front” of the aircraft. When you lock something up in bore sight, aim with the cross... not the ADI displayed near the cross. Don’t put the ADI on the actual horizon. Put it on the horizon line shown in itself. You will see that cross on the actual horizon every time.

What happened to the guy you fellas tapped? Also what is the reason that the Skin shows on Jabber's client, but not the pilots? Can tell at 16:12 and then again just before the black screen after "the tap incident".

Awesome. Looked exciting. Couldn't really see what was lost. Knew you lost the elevon was not sure if you lost a stab or not. And probably had a damaged engine or 2.
