Oh wow! As much as i do love the snow, i am looking forward to the summer sun. . . although that does bring other camping challenges in terms of the lovely insects and bugs!!

Yes of course Derby. . . Thanks for sticking around. I was amazed at the footage, the camera had been triggered over 72 times. So I had to review 72 x 15 second clips. . 3 of them were me, 68 of them were trees moving caused by wind and this 1 golden nugget in the middle just as I was giving up hope 🙏🙏👍☀️

Oh is it still snowing up there. . Assume the peaks will be full of snow still then. .I love the snow, if it's still there in a week, I might have to make a trip of it 🙏

Hello, from Derby. How do you feel about a flat lay hammock? I have a Lawson blue ridge hammock (but this can be tippy if you don’t guy line out the edges) this has an AWESOME under blanket. Best I’ve ever come across. I also have a Haven flat lay hammock which doesn’t use an under blanket. It uses the sleeping pad as insulation. Or do you prefer the banana style hang in a hammock?

Hello from Derby, from close by. To be honest I've never tried a flat lay, I wouldn't say I've actually gave one a thought to be honest. Although I have seen the rising in popularity, so I might have to. . Although not sure I'd want to buy one as I really like the freedom of a traditional shape hammock. Although the under blanket you mention sounds like the one!! Although I'm not sure I like the sound of using a sleeping pad inside a hammock. I've got 2 DD hammocks which I brought off FB 2nd hand and although I've not slept in them one has a separate compartment for a sleeping mat, although I really don't like the feel of the hammock. Thank you for watching and commenting, its really appreciated 🙏

Looks like another "mostly good" trip, except for that underquilt 😂 Looking online, it seems like DD's underquilt is quite scooped in shape. I use a OneWind quilt myself, which is basically a flat blanket until I tension the bungee cords. I've never felt restricted by it, so I'm wondering if it's something about the shape of the thing. My bungees have cord tensioners, much like linelocks, to adjust it. I did have them pull out when I was setting it up last time, but I've never had it fall off after attaching it. I'll mess around a little with tying some loops on the bungee and using carabiners the next time out. So how did it fall off? Aside from loose knots or bungee tensioners, all I can think of is too much pressure from you in the hammock. Generally the underquilt should be barely touching the hammock when you're laying in it. I usually climb into the hammock, then reach my hand between the hammock and the quilt to make sure there's a small gap. I hope it gets better for you, adjusting the underquilt is the most challenging part for me these days. ✌️

To be honest it was a much better trip than I'd realised, it was only upon watching the footage back I realised how nice it was. In terms of the underquilts I'm just not winning am I lol. The DD is very small, albeit it was warm when I pulled the tarp right down, but as I mentioned last time, I think I'm too long for it. So I went shopping and found this full length one on Ali express, I thought for £21 it was worth a punt. How did it fall off 🤣, that was me not wanting to tie a permanent knott in the cordage. I've Hammock camped in my garden since 2020, but only this year actually slept out in the wild and in the winter, so only this year I've actually needed an UQ. I'm hoping now the weather is on the turn for us here in the UK for the better ☀️. . . I'm hoping I don't need an UQ for the next few months. . Give me enough time to save up for a Onewind set-up, I only see great things from the Onewind gear. . . However I don't fancy getting divorced just yet lol so I'll hold off buying it for a few months. I've just brought 2 new hammocks, 1 to keep and 1 for a 500 subscriber giveaway. I'm thinking of recording a video this weekend having a 1st look at said new hammock. I hope you are well and the weather is also getting better for you in NY

@@RobOutdoor I've seen a lot of OneWind review videos, that's why I went with it. I wouldn't recommend it for actual cold camping, but it's fine above 40° F (4.5° C) or so. But I didn't get the whole setup, I just used it with my Hennessy hammock. The DD website says their underquilt is good down to 23° F (-5° C). But yeah, it's takes some concerted effort to get underquilt systems set up just right.

That under-quilt really dont get why it fell off if it was tied on, good Video, and fabulous footage from the night camera, good idea for the Nan bread.

It was my own fault for not tieing knot in the end of the string. Curry was good, need to take a bigger pot next time though to cook both rice and curry at one

Oh nooooo, for me nothing beats that feeling of laying in a hammock, especially over sleeping on the floor. . If only there was trees up in the hills with nice views! I really recommend you try. . I am giving away a hammock from this video very soon (as soon as I hit 200 subs) so hopefully by the end of the weekend 🤞 so keep an eye out for how to be in with a chance to win

Hi mate new subscriber here, going though your videos later, all my gear is from DD not had any problems with it, the underblanket I all ways pull it tight seems to do a great job, I did had a other under blanket it was crap so what I did I put in side my emergency blanket and that did a great job kept the heat in, keep up with a great job with you videos… Ady

@RobOutdoor 2 месяца назад
Hi Ady, appreciate the sub and comment, I think I just need to get used to it, I've been Hammocking in my garden since 2020, but only in the summer lol so never needed an UQ. It was only this year I've started to sleep in the winter and in the woods. . . Be worth while you watching a couple of the videos then to get a bit of the backstory behind my comment lol. So do you use a DD hammock? I brought 2 a few weeks back off FB marketplace and I made a video about it but I really can't see the appeal in the hammocks at all, they seem very uncomfortable material for me. I'm still yet to actually camp in them, I'm actually thinking of getting rid of them to be honest as I have other hammocks which are far more comfortable
@Airsoft-shooting

@@RobOutdoor hi mate I got the DD super light jungle hammock best sleep i had in a hammock, you got plenty of room and height in in the jungle hammock, try and get a emergency blanket inside the under blanket you will noticed the difference. Ady

@@Airsoft-shooting it's the jungle hammock I have, I can't bring myself to spend the night in it. . or even get in it to be honest lol. . Reason being is 1. It was stored away before I brought it for years so it actually smells. . And 2. Im really struggling with the material. I did make a video where I slated it, but I'm actually planning on making another video as some things I said in this video I've now found to not be true. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mT8f0EJ33pY.htmlsi=ViQd8v975A8hrdFR
