An afternoon in the woods. DD 3x3 plough point tarp set up, trying a new way to light the Firebox stove & coffee with the Pathfinder stainless steel kettle.
Cheers J and thanks for watching. Yeah I'm a big fan of the plough point, particularly in many of the places I go because the terrain is steep, overgrown and difficult and finding a good spot is even harder if you need more than 1 tree 🌲
Nice chilled video Elliott I enjoyed that buddy. I agree the plough point is a fantastic set-up for all the reasons you mentioned. I like the look of that pan and kettle what are they 👍👍
Cheers Garry, thanks for watching. I got the pot over 20 years ago and can't remember the make, but it's been amazing. It has a metal hanging handle which has meant I've used it for trekking with my multi fuel stove and for hanging over the fire - bushcraft style. The kettle is a Pathfinder and I got it because it fitted into the old pot.
Well I'm buggered, off I went on my last video looking for bark to use as a fire starting tray and you've just taught me a lesson using the firebox base plate! Nice one mate, I had one there all along 😄 genius 👍 great video man love it 👍
Cheers AJ and thanks for watching. Yeah I normally start with a few twigs in the bottom, put my tinder on top, drop my sparks down, then add kindling. It works well except takes quite a few more strikes because you're so far off the tinder. This method works well, but dont overload the stove with too much before you slide the tray in. Anyway, much appreciated man, looking forward to your next camp.
