A truly wonderful video - thanks. A Rob Saunders tent too. I used to use a Backpacker, but sadly, like so many tents of that time, years of sun degraded it. Look after her, treat her well and thanks for sharing her with us.
Great video, just subscribed, so looking forward to watching more of your content :) I've camped all over Dartmoor, usually around the top of tors. I've never really considered a riverside camp, but your video has inspired me for my next camp. I have a few locations in mind so I think I'll be checking them out during my next hike. Thank you for sharing a well edited video
not a criticism just a thought, when i’m using a stick stove on dartmoor i put it on a rock or rocks just keeps it off the ground and keeps people off your back. nice spot know it well appreciate you not naming it mate 🤙
Out of all the wild camping videos I've watched (and thats a lot) this is definitely one of the nicest spots i've seen, what a beautiful location, also I absolutely adore your companion haha wonderful video mate, thanks for sharing.
Elliot, are you coming back? I’ve been missing your content 😄 would love to see some new videos, but I do understand that life can unfortunately get in the way of some our most beloved past times
Hoping we might get some new content soon with the weather warming up a little. You left us on tenterhooks with your new camp spot. I’m having to keep myself entertained with some old videos 😄
That fire pipe worked really well! This video is great because the sounds and fire are so relaxing. Thanks for sharing the experience with us😃 I'm going to subscribe and look forward to watching your other videos😁
That is a lovely spot for an overnighter, if you can sleep with the continues sounds of the stream then that is great, were you able to view the stream very far down? Always a good idea to cut out a piece of turf to preserve the grass I think,. any way great video well-done.
You were busy in that one mate! Superb camp set up, looks like a great spot! Peanut came to the camera to say hello to his dedicated fans 😄 such a great little fella he is. I love that he gets in the bivvy bag haha. Excellent videos really enjoy them sir 👍
Hey, thanks Aj. I do like that spot as its very quiet and no one ever seems to go there because its always overgrown all around it once you're away from the path. A bit like your little spot 🔥 Yeah Peanut is a cool little dog and it cracks me up when he burrows in to my bivi bag, I have to let him in 😂 Good to see you got out for a camp last week, was hoping you'd be putting up a video but assuming you just wanted to chill. Take care mate and thanks for watching. Cheers, Elliott.
Your recipe for videos is incredible, I aspire to make content as good as this! Is that the new bag? Peanut was confused why you got back into the bivi haha.
Thanks Angus, appreciate it mate. I'm not entirely sure what my 'recipe' is, but I guess I sort of have a process which generally works quite well, but always trying to improve. Got a lot to learn about this stuff. Do you mean the rucksack? The one in this video is really old, its an 80's army bergen and I only use it when I dont have a really long walk in, but I really love it. Still on the lookout for a new large pack. Lol, yes its funny how much my actions confuse Peanut when I'm filming, but that is how he generally wakes me up. So got it twice that morning 😂 Take care my friend, Elliott.
@@w9gaming558 Sorry to hear that mate. I hope you get it working. I did check using my phone instead and it was fine on that too, so hopefully its just a temporary glitch. Thanks for trying though. Atb, Elliott.
That’s a beast of a pack, Elliot! Loved the way you tied your slip knot on the ridgeline. I’m having that 😉👍🏼 It’s lovely you have a water source nearby. Not too many in my neck of the woods ☹️ A smart looking cook up there for tea 🍽 I cannot wait to get out in my hammock again. Definitely the best way for me to get some shut eye in the woods! Them fried eggs look nice. Lovely orangey yolks - free range?
Hi Tim, thanks for watching mate. Won't take the credit for the ridgeline knot as I got that off someone on YT, probably Des Cattys. I was relieved to find the stream in that forest still flowing after all this dry weather, but it's not generally too hard finding water down here in the west country. This was my second hammock camp and I am a convert, even using a mat inside instead of an underblanket. Its the best way to camp. Yes the eggs are free range and they always have lovely yellow yokes. Take care my friend, Elliott.
@@beaconbushcraftoutdoors5834 I do like a free range egg. Especially from the folks who sell the eggs to my teacher daughters school. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was learnt from Des. He is a font of knowledge ! I’m glad you are liking the hammock camps. It’s nice to be able to mix it up. I am envious of your water sources over there. So nice to not have to lug copious amounts of water in each time. Have a good weekend 😉👍🏼
Thank you Angus. Yes it's a great pack, but I don't think they make them any more and that one is 20 odd years old, so I'm actually in the market for a new one. Anyway, thanks for watching mate, Elliott.
Wow, it's so thrilling to watch you chill and looking at the blue skies as the cooking is going on Nice experience you had indeed and thanks for sharing it with us
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it. Nothing better than enjoying the peace and quiet of a woodland while cooking some delicious food. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Elliott.
Great video! Good suspension system, always good to have extra length with your straps, those bigger trees use heaps! I use Whoopie slings and tree huggers. The straps that come with the camping hammock are a pain in the arse I recon. I was wondering, could you replace those ridiculous straps with your carabiners? Keep up the great videos. 🇦🇺
Thank you, really appreciate it. You're right about the straps that come with the hammock and now I have my new system, I may just cut them right down and just have a small loop for the carabiner, but will use it in a few more situations before I do that. I currently just leave the carabiner attached anyway. Thanks for watching, Cheers, Elliott.
