Sir! I’m getting these codes on my Truck. It’s 2015 cascadia with DD15 Injector Cylinder #1, Needle Control Valve Circuit Open Injector Cylinder #2, Needle Control Valve Circuit Open Injector Cylinder #3, Needle Control Valve Circuit Open What do you think is the problem?
Super helpful video, really appreciate it. Having issues with my DD15 where the injector codes do not appear when requested. Could this be a software issue? SPN 3662.. cylinder #4 injector short circuit. Already purchased a new injector but want to be sure everything is in line before hand, and no codes appearing is worrisome
The most important thing is inputting the new injector code into the MCM. If the original injector codes do not come up. You should be fine. Also, it may ask you for the part number on the injector.
@@CarlosDieselElectric Thank you for response sir. I’ve collected all the info needed for this job.. part# and code# of the individual injector. Just during my pre check I noticed the original injectors do not appear when requested, leaving me a bit worried. Appreciate it again
i dont think he mentioned this but NEVER open the high pressure fuel system after the truck has been running. Im not sure what the Detroit literature time to wait is so refer to this specific manual but you never want to crack open a fuel line right after the engine has been running
I have few codes after my electronic log book plug get lose from the computer connection when this happens my abs light come on and all my gages when to 0 when I was driving on the highway SFU 49 SPN 520201 FMI 3, SPN 600 FMI 13, SPN 596 FMI13, APN 602 FMI 13 AL THIS CODES HAVE ENG 0 BEFORE SPN I NEED HELP WITH THIS THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
Love your videos, VERY informative. Just a quick question on the fuel pump install, have a friend who did a HP fuel pump change by watching a video and his truck won't start. I took out all the fuel filters and the fuel didn't drain out like it should have. Truck just cranks, Fuel pump doesn't pull fuel, disconnected the fuel lines to the common rail and nothing coming out while priming or cranking. Don't know if he torque down the big nut on the gear, maybe came loose? Any ideas before we take it all apart again? Thanks
When in doubt, take it apart in order to see what went wrong. For me, these are the steps I take. 1) set the engine to TDC 1 2) verify TDC 1 by removing valve cover and checking the valves. 3) look at the timing marks to verify. You will need the timing pin at the flywheel to ensure. 4) then begin to remove the parts. 5) the fuel pump must be timed, use the timing plate to help verify. 6) once you assemble everything, prime the fuel system. You must pressurize with 80-95 psi of clean diesel fuel. This has to be done for about 2-3 minutes to ensure fuel has traveled through the system.
Key thing you just said is fuel pump wont pull fuel, even if it was off time it will pull fuel. Sounds like You either have a vacuum side fuel leak (air ingress) or you left the fuel filters off too long and the fuel flowed allll the way back into the tank so it can crank a long ass time and still not pull enough fuel . Clamp shut the fuel breather hose and shoot some pressurized air into the tank to force fuel to the filters (dont go 40 psi or you can blow up your fuel/water seperator)
Hi, nice quick video ! I have a DD15 with SPN 3659 FMI 5 injector cylinder #1 spill control valve ("amplifier"), circuit open. What does ISC% stands for? Your values are reading 0, mines are -5,-6,-5,0,5,11. Also Injector Code returned values are invalid "??????" for all 6 injectors. I have changed the injector harness, problem still on. Any advice?
Circuit open could be a bad harness, recommend low hanging fruit. Change the injector harness. When you are changing your injectors. You will need the part number (starts with A47207****) then the injector code. Usually letters and numbers. The ISB will should read ZERO for all cylinders, if they do not, that is ok. Zero or closer to zero is good. 20 or -20 or further away from zero may indicate a bad injector.
Hello Mr Pedro, I have done with my fuel pump very easy with your advise and video about fuel pump replacement, thank you again! My truck already have 850K and something else mileage on it, and I’m thinking to change the injectors at the same time, do you think it’s good idea? And if I change them, is it important to enter the part number through the software or it’s ok to bypass?
I recommend to always input the injector codes into the MCM (engine computer), each injector is calibrated with the code. This way the MCM knows how much fuel is being used and the injector is controlled electronically. Now I know many trucks that have the same injectors in them and usually people won’t change them until they begin to go bad or fuel economy changes. You can always perform a Idle Speed Balance test to help find any weak or bad injectors.
I purchased my software from Diagnostics Link Nexiq. It is licensed software from Detroit Diesel. They have two levels available, standard (which is what I use) and the have Professional which allows you to program updates from Detroit (CPC, MCM, ACM and Automatic transmission DT12). The standard platform allows you to make parameter changes, do diagnostic work, parked regens which is more than enough for most shops.
Got a 2014 cas dd15 hard start changed filter housing, valves on rail runs good once it starts n starts good till u sit over night and its a pain ,mech had found misfire on 4 and 6 but goes away injectors fairly new say a couple of years any Idea on what could be idles okey ...
Hello I got a question. I did a replace a number 3 injector, replace the injector harness, replace the fuel line, and the after I replace it put everything back together and I try to start a truck. It will crank couple times, ( weak crank and stop cranking and it won't let me start a truck, did pump the fuel try to start the truck through there starter and it won't start, I didn't programmed the new injector in the computer, do you think it will be the problem that the truck won't start or could be anything else, maybe the starter but before I did this job, the truck start fine. I don't know, if you have any idea, please let me know. Thank you
Hi thank you for the video, I have question about injector, my truck 2016 cascadia DD15 start consuming more fuel (25 to 30%) more then before AND less power up hills after I made delete , i have no code everything is good .check many mechanic no one find problem computer shows all good numbers. My question is do u think my injector bad spraying more fuel? If yes how to test them can I used same method in the video??
The delete can be tricky, if it is done incorrect or the wrong one is used. More fuel can be consumed, it all depends on the program that was installed or programmed into the MCM. These can cause the injectors to spray more fuel, you can try doing a ISB test to see if there is an injector that out of balance with the rest.
Empieza con lo más básico. Un prueba de comprensión y revisa los números. Si están bajo, ajusta las válvulas. Cuando el motor está caliente usa la computadora para have un ISB idle speed balance test.
Mr Fuentes what kind software are you using in this video because I use the diesel laptop and is not getting much info, if you don’t mind please let me know what you have thank you
HERMANO Can you do a informative video, so your followers know how to manage with the wastes., Oil,antifreeze, diesel, oil mixed with diesel, diesel mixed with antifreeze, and so forth, So they won’t fall in the mistake of dumping those wastes anywhere, thanks
diagnosticlink.nexiq is where I purchased my software from. It is original Detroit software, there are two levels available. Standard and Professional. I use the standard which allow me to do just about everything.
Also the last injector 4-5-6 are not working. I put the new wire harness and nothing chance. The engine just try it to start with start fluid and i took the fuel pressure with the gage and only see 50 bar and the manual said in 20 sec must be reach 150 bar or 2175 psi.
First i replace the rear harness yesterday and nothing change, and today I replace all injector like you do in your video the truck start with the bleeding tank attach to the filter, but the high pressure pump doesn’t work properly
Hello me neme is Cristian from w palm beach fl..I have dd15 2013 and installed 6 new injectors...is necessary put the part numbers and the others numbers en the computer.
I definitely recommend you input the information into the MCM using the software. The truck will still run without out it but the codes are calibrated and help with injection.
I "heard" you can let it self learn a new injector with out re coding it. Allegedly it's runs rough for awhile and eventually fixes itself. Just truck driver gossip not verified.
@@ajanimaghett7880 I am not familiar with Maxxforce engines. I recommend contacting someone who works on these. I used to have the program but these engines have a number of issues. What city are you in?
@@larrypryor817 if you have the software. Perform a compression test and see what cylinder is weak. Then, remove the valve cover and perform a valve adjustment. You may have valves that are way too tight. I had something similar and it was the valves that were too tight.
