@@CarlosDieselElectric Hi, did you lock in the engine over ride button to keep the truck from shutting down.? Once those lights come on the computer won’t allow the truck to run more than 5min before it shuts it down.
@@cedthetruth1311 the earlier trucks EPA07 did allow you to run with the over ride switch. Then EPA10 and newer came along and things changed. The over ride just lets you get over to the shoulder.
Good video, thanks for posting, I do read some comments questioning ur repair without knowing anything ignore them you are actually fixing the real cause of issues. I seen technician who can change every part of aftertreatment including one box without knowing the real concept most stealer-ship have those so called master tech😂.
Hello Pedro. Thanks for sharing your mechanical skills through your videos. I been having a major soot problem with my 2011 freightliner cascadia with a detriot dd15 engine. I changed my 1Box because my old box had a lot of rust around it causing weak areas to leak air. And it had high levels of soot as well at the time. After replacing the 1BOX l cleaned the filter that came with it and l blew out SCR filter as well. After driving for a week the system is totally clogged up again. I was so clogged that it blew the clamp because of the clogged 1box. I towed it to the local freightliner dealership to have the truck checked. After 2 days they confirm the system was clogged up really bad and they would need to order new dpf filters and air clean the SCR filters in the 1box. I explained to him l just had the filters cleaned and l had the 1box SCR FILTERS blown out a week ago. I told the shop supervisor that's a lot of soot build up in a week. I ask him did he think it could be a problem on the engine side that would cause that amount of soot in a week. He said they will check to see if there was an issue with the engine. I never received a call they emailed me letting me know my truck repair was completed. I called them to get a run down of what they did and I was told they replaced the dpf filters repair 2 coolant leaks and they blew out the 1box filters. I ask the service person if they check to see what was causing the soot build up. He said because the dpf filters were bad because they were the original filters in the 1box and they failed the flow test. So after picking up the truck and driving it on the 3rd the truck seems like it running out of fuel and stop on the side of the interstate . I called road side assistant to bring fuel and filters after getting the truck to run it kept cutting off. After the 5th try l gave it gas this time and there was a large pop and black soot went everywhere. The 1box was completely clogged up again. The truck sounded good got over 7 miles to the gallon but its producing a lot of soot. The most common reason for too much soot is fuel and air mixture in the cylinder isn't correct to burn the fuel causing soot buildup. I'm not loosing oil or coolant other than the 2 leaking hoses that was supposed to be replaced but they are still leaking because the shop used the same old compression hose clamps. Pedro if you experience any repair jobs like this l would appreciate your feedback. Thanks in advance.
Heavy soot can be a few things. 1) software update to the CPC, MCM and ACM will help. 2) air filter replacement 3) valve adjustment 4) have the shop perform an ISB (idle speed balance) to see if an injector or injectors might be bad 5) use clean diesel or good quality diesel These are a few things that I can think of.
@@CarlosDieselElectric yeah l forgot to mention that they did an software update as well on the truck. But it seemed like the truck produced more soot this time because after 3 days of driving the truck it was completely clogged up really bad. I will have the shop check out your list. Thanks again!
@@CarlosDieselElectric l noticed over in Europe that they have different grades of diesel over there and a lot of truck owners use diesel additives to help the diesel particles burn better in the cylinder. Stanadyne Diesel Treatment is 1 that a lot truck owners use over there. They all claim that their trucks go a month or months without doing a regen. So I'm thinking by adding a good diesel treatment will help cut down the soot level as well. What do you think about this? Thanks again.
That sent me to the poor house,I replaced the one box,and still couldn t do a regen, finally, it was the DEF quality control valve (or something like that). The dealer in Knoxville assured me that once the box was replaced my troubles would be over, box was replaced and they took an extra 7 days to find the real problem,I paid for their incompetence... 20k doesn t sound like a lot,but it is a lot when the freight rates are very bad, almost 2 yrs later I can see light at the end of the tunnel debtwise. I learned that Credit card companies charge a lot to finance 20k,I'd never used a c/c this way.
Sorry to hear that, I personally do everything I can verify that the One Box is still good before I say it needs to be replaced. I test everything out first for just that reason, I know how ridiculously expensive the One Box is.
@@BlessednFree I bought the trk used, the dealer assured me that they did ALL inspected all with a haircomb,I naively believed them. I learned later that my truck was laid on it s side or crashed it s passenger side,YES,it damged the One box, eventhough it looked ok,it had a hairline cracked, not big enough to be seen,(unless you were the bionic man),but big enough to suck in air and create havock in the sensors,my truck ALWAYS had a yellow code,I spent so much money trying to fix it,until that one day when it could no longer be regened, once the box and the other issues were replaced and fixed, the truck worked magnificently, for about a year, then the engine went, but it had slightly over a million miles, the engine did what it did. Looking back,I should ve kept it, it had new everything,radiator,hoses,box,injectors,clutch... Anyhoo,I learned about the box the hard, expensive way.
Yo bud mad respect for your attitude towards sharing knowledge that doesn't necessarily grow on trees. But to maybe get you to see if you can pick up what I'm putting down. Regarding the ability to read in real time as the zone/levels of soot as they come down, on how certain programs do not oblige such data stream as you would like. Now just hear me out a second. I might not even be making any sense in recommending to use the data monitoring of the delta-p. Sensor before, during, and after. IDK!! ,WHAT U THINK BUD?
2011 cascadia code ecc 61 spn 3719 fail 00. Also code cab 33 spn 522116 has pretty much always been on. Ambient temp sensor was replaced a while back and temp has beem reading correctly. Both ecm computers and the transmissiom were replaced about 20k miles ago. Truck is doing parked regen now i initiated that because it was deratging at like 3mph. Also fuel has only been lowing from drivers side tank for the last few months since we removed fuel filter system that used to be installed but was getting old and broken
As far as the 3719, when you are doing a regen you have to look at other things like DOC inlet temp and DOC inlet pressure. Also, check the diesel Doser behind the turbo. Check for any blockage that might be preventing temperatures from rising.
I have a code 3242 and a high soot level and the dozer valve and dozer injector are not activating while doing a parked regen. Also the temps do not rise above 496 degrees. I did replace the dozer block and cleaned the dozer injector and it still doesn’t regen the regen aborts after about 40 min
I'm beginning to wonder if it's a problem with the Cascadia, as I've driven a few and they seem to want to conk out on when in lower gears, as I've noticed some sputtering and more hesitation when I've driven both the 10 speed and auto in the lower gears. That's my take on this. Could be that's where the soot build up is more noticeable as well too. I don't know.
In most cases you can clean the diesel doser injector and the opening. This almost always works, in some cases the doser block gets damaged as a result of the doser injector being blocked. Always start with low hanging fruit.
Hey Pedro, what would be to much DOC inlet pressure to do a regular regen ?? I have this issue with a 2014 cascadia, face pressure was in the 3 psi range, had the filters in the box completely cleaned, after installation, system still requesting regen/ soot level high, did a regen and the doc inlet pressure was at 1.4psi, which is weird since the filters got cleaned, should I do a DOC face plug regen ?
check the fuel filter and see if the pin is broke off and fell into the fuel line restricting the fuel flow that will not allow the regen to get hot enough to regen the engine that is why Ash levels, to be higher this is what happened to my dd15,
Would the ceramic gaskets on the tubing prior to the filters caused the heat to escape in the filters not get hot enough when doing a regen? This is a pre-one box Cascadia with the DD 15
If you are talking about an EPA07 (2008-2010 pre DEF), the gaskets help seal, but if the heat isn't transferring or going through correctly then issue may not be the seals. The DOC could be the issue, the Diesel Doser valve may be blocked.
So I'm is. Having issues. Doing a parked regen it idles. Up and boost to about 28 psi for maybe 30 sec to 2 min max the shuts down then try agin maybe 3 times in a row. But the regen light is. Off when trying but will try that same prosses a couple min later until you drive. Also motive the same thing if the light comes. On boost to 28 psi them drops boost bit keeps rpms up at 1200 ish have you seen this befor what can I do to fix this also nli have no lights no codes

OTR. I had same issues. Honestly it’s not work. Until you clean dpf filter. The reason why this code come after 600000 miles because your dpf filter need to cooked. Why this code don’t come before 500000 mile or 600000 mile because your dpf filter clean. The smoke not cross completely to dpf filter cause of too much Corbin. The the smoke come to back to the injector 7th. You clean 7th. It’s work only few days. Again same issue.

Joel Sanchez sorry but you don’t know what you are talking about. I didn’t clean the DEF Doser, I cleaned the diesel Doser behind the turbo, those are two different things. The “DEF heater line” is so that the DEF does not freeze in cold weather. In my video, the temperature of 600 degrees is for the DOC inlet. The DOC outlet and the DPF temperatures will raise to 1000 degrees or higher. You seriously need to know what you are talking about before you comment or if you don’t know, ask questions.
Joel Sanchez the after treatment One Box can be very time consuming and can get expensive. My video has nothing to do with DEF and only has to do with Regen temp at the DOC and the DPF.

The software you are using. is it the original or is it the bootleg? Sometimes the bootleg may not read everything or it could be your laptop. I had an older laptop that was having a delayed issue with updating the temps.
Hello bro, Great video. I have one question. I have taken my truck to the mechanic shop 3 to 4 times already. The problem is when the truck ask for regen and then I park and start the regen manually by pressing the regen button and then it starts revving up the RPM as usual and then after few mins the fan starts and then the truck jumps every time when fan clicks like it misfires or something and then after truck regen sound goes to normal but RPM stays up between 12 to 1300 rpm and its not doing anymore regen but acting like it's doing. Please advise the truck is 2014 cascadia

Clean the diesel Doser injector located behind the turbo. Run a parked regen and lol the DOC inlet pressure. This will help you find out if the DOC may be plugged. Do you have access to the DDDL software?
@@davionmcclendon4985 Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link. It is the software that allows you to communicate with the truck You can perform a parked regen and then monitor the numbers
That might be possible. If there a check engine light on. That would prevent a regen from happening. Also, a parked regen uses the engine brake to heat up the exhaust and the engine brake uses oil pressure. So it is possible.

I haven't the same issue with my 2015 Freightliner, I have spent about $5k through a Freightliner dealership, still not able to resolve the issue for me. I'm on the East Coast, do you have any paid online session to troubleshoot?
ProSavvy Logistics you will need the software or someone with the software to perform a parked regen. This is so you can see the temperatures, the ITV opening or closing, the DOC in and out pressure. What have you done so far?
ProSavvy Logistics so first thing to look at, engine temperature needs to be at 150 or higher. The temp will rise, but before you start the engine, remove the Doser valve just behind the turbo and check for any blockage (soot or carbon). Also, get some shop air and blow it into the valve. Then reinstall and start your parked regen. You have to observe the after treatment temps and the Doser activity. Let me know what you see.
I usually have the engine at 150 temp or higher. Sometimes the park brake, foot brake and clutch need to be applied then you can initiate the parked regen with the software

Dezmon Monroe you can try to do a forced parked regen but the you may not have any luck. If the temperatures can not rise. The regen will run for awhile or it will about. Try cleaning the Doser Injector and the S-pipe first then try performing a parked regen. Low temp regen is a result of heat temperatures not rising.

Mpower 60195 fault code 4363 usually SCR NOx efficiency low. This is sometimes accompanied with fault code 3364 improper DEF quality. you need the other fault codes, the screen you are at shoes engine faults but you need to hit the + button on the dash/steering wheel to take you to the actual fault codes.
If I am not mistaken this has to do with boost. I ran into this problem before with a customer. I tried using a test turbo, checked the CAC and still the same. However, I used a test MCM from a similar truck and I felt an improvement of more power. Just to be sure, the owner took the truck to Valley Power Systems (authorized Detroit Diesel) and they said it was because the driver was in the wrong gear when driving. I did not believe that, but that was there opinion. Try using a test MCM from a similar truck of the same year and engine first.
I have a 2016 cascadia with about 600 k miles I changed def filters about 1 years ago because I got 4364 fmi 18 And my problem went away Then I changed outlet nox sensor because I had a code related to nox sensor faulty or so,ethikg like that and it was fine and perferomed forced regen but now recently my truck tried doing a regen and something didn’t let it and I got a code saying overboost detected during regen and intake manifold pressure to high Code 3464 fmi 16 The regen started as normal then reached a point where it just accelerated and it stopped. I’m guessing that’s the overboost I was told this could be vpod. Now it’s been about 6 months since that code and lately I’m getting code 4364 fmi 18 nox conversion low and poor def quality again and I perform a regen and it goes away. But my truck hasn’t done any regens by itself or asked me for a regen my question is can vpod prevent truck from doing regens? Therefore my truck hasn’t any type of regen and is telling ,e nox conversion low? I’m thinking of changing doser valve

Had to stop doing regen because I thought something is broken… no fault codes except the NOx sensor permanent… do you think it’s only nox or something more serious? My mechanic tells me it’s probably turbo not building up the temperature, but turbo shouldn’t make my engine RPM go low from time to time while doing forced regen. Have someone perform a parked regen and look at the numbers. Look at the Intake Throttle Valve and see what it is doing. It needs to hold steady at around 85%. If it does not then you have another problem that is not allowing the temp to rise.

Mariano Covarrubias sounds like a parked regen is needs. But be fore you do. Are there any other fault codes that are flashing? Do you know how to do a parked regen?
Mariano Covarrubias typically to do a forced parked regen. Truck must be idle and parking brakes on. 1- push clutch pedal down and then release 2- push foot brake pedal down and hold it. 3- push the yellow brake valve in whistle keeping your foot on the brake. 4- then , pull yellow brake out and take your foot off the brake pedal. 5- then push and hold down the regen button unit the parked regen starts. When it does take your finger off the button. Regen takes about 35-45 minutes.
These companies need to stop trying to outdo each other with more technology. They should be trying to make these trucks as simple as possible. The fewer parts they have the less there is to go wrong.

Giovanni Socci sorry to hear that you are having issues with your truck, especially the One Box. Those can be a major pain. It should have a 1 year manufacturer warranty. I advise you take it back and let them figure it out. Be prepared to show maintenance records and also change your air filter. The one the sits on top of the motor.
