Interesting thing is, if you've watched Brooks or other Plaid car channels, you'll see a quarter mile pass is about 1 percent to 1.5 percent of the battery, so, he'd h ave a TON of battery left.

The plaid was most likely not running in drag mode, cause there is no way anything is out launching a plaid when even a 2000hp nevera or 1400hp unicorn couldn’t
Tough race to lose, BUT Damon drove the crap outta that SVJ. He definitely demonstrated some serious driving skills. Otherwise it would have been a blowout for the plaid. Thx for making it exciting to Damon & the Lambo!! Yes, the plaid is superfast, but it's not for everyone either. Thx guys!

Chilling with chet, his plaid does rolling awd burnouts, then again he drove it underwater and caused that issue but it was wild watching it during sick week roasting all 4
yeah, also the lambo was clearly quicker off the launch so the tires weren't really a factor. The Tesla walked it down and had more top end, which is probably the opposite of a lot of peoples' preconceptions.

You have to understand that the speed means nothing if the car doesn't have soul. Thats why a Lamborghini will always be a Lamborghini... and the tesla will always be a brand like a simple bmw.
@@TecnamTwin no, he's right. It's fast with no soul. The ONLY thing that car can do is accelerate. The brakes have had multiple failures due to how inadequate they are. The handling is absolutely terrible. And there is absolutely no feel or sound. That's the soul. An e36 m3 has 600 times more soul than a tesla, even if it's much slower.
Johnny has my respect. It takes serious courage to take part in a show where you would be basically public enemy #1. Let's be honest - no one in this channel would ever take any Tesla over any classic exotic car, no matter how fast they get. We are all petrol-heads, not volt-heads. So to take the side of the EVs against the whole team and the channel audience you have to be seriously brave.

Let me see: 1- Lamborghini has been building cars for 40 years longer than Tesla. 2- Your car it's about 1,500lbs lighter. 3- Your car cost twice as much. Not taking into consideration all the upgrades and modifications. I would choose a Huracan over a Tesla any day of the week but all of my respect goes to Tesla for changing the game and accomplishing what older car manufacturers couldn't.

One thing to keep in mind that horsepower rules drag race. Aventador SVJ is 780HP while Model S Plaid is 1020HP. I think a rematch but with a Aventador SVJ twin turbo'ed to 1000hp should be a hell of a match
That SVJ Has a hell of a sound. Edit: Do you think having his windows down was causing enough drag to slow him down at higher speeds? I've heard it turns your car into a parachute.

Can we appreciate the fact that a production electric car is faster than a freaking Lamborghini in 2022? When I was coming up, the best we had was the Toyota Prius lol. I prefer the sound of ICE engines, but I can't argue with how far electric cars have come.

That plaid may be quick, fast, environment friendly but when it comes to looks, sound, special, desiring, nothing comes close to a Lambo. That V12 sound is mind boggling
I love how they talk about the 200hp Difference but not the 1450lbs (664kg) difference :). And also the reaction times of the plaid in all of the races were crap. Anyway cool race tho.
the Plaid weighs 1,000-1,500lbs heavier vs every car it races, but hypocrites luv to pretend that doesn't exist and only the HP difference. dumb people can't be fair.
They also didn’t talk about the acceleration and the 0-60 that the plaid has which is obviously an advantage so I don’t think that he was trying to be like that. He honestly could have just kept saying it’s the fastest production car your can buy from factory but he didn’t.
Tesla Laid 2162 vs Lamborghini 1525 at such a huge speed of 200 miles per hour, the Tesla calmly keeps on turning, unlike the Lamborghini, which will fly into a ditch on the turn! 12:29 from here you can see that Drift is very difficult for her and there is practically no slip! I didn’t think that Tesla could drift at all; it doesn’t even drift on sharp turns!
Agreed. In the day my slow ass old Integra lost .3 in the 1/4 with a roof rack and valence. The faster you're going the more air flow is gonna hold you back.

@@weed46 no roadster debuted at the wrong time. After all it's anticipated 2020 date just so happened to be in the middle of the pandemic and now we have a massive semiconductor/parts shortage. It'll come eventually when the world sorts itself out.
The TT Huracan would have smoked that Tesla. Like not even close so this was fun in my opinion because it was way closer compared to what it would have been.
The Lambo sounds like an F1 car, sweet music, I would still have a Plaid, starting up the Lambo at 4am for work won't go down well with the neighbours, I've had cars with loud exhausts and going on long trips really grinds your ears even after you've stopped.
@@adrianwelgemoed9562 280mile is a long trip in UK, from where i live it's 140 mile to London so could do round trip without charging sort of. I cannot afford either so it's all under the IF scenario.
Look up Randy Pobst doing Pikes Peak run in the Plaid. Electric cars need an external warning sounds by the rules, so the team mixed some kind of "space-y" sounds for the race. Just load it from a USB stick and play through the external speaker.
1000hp car with an 8-year unlimited-mile warranty. it's pretty damn crazy. also perfectly fine family trip or commuter car (which is what i use mine for). The lambo is a truly awesome vehicle too, but the Plaid is just absolutely bananas factoring in price and utility.
