The thing with arcade dance games is that the more you progress, the more pressure the soft pad needs to withstand. Not only I have to worry about the pad not staying flat and slipping but also the sensors from the pad. I have a "Stay Cool" DDR pad and I have a hard time doing 8th note runs because the down panel doesn't respond well, when I do 16th note runs in the arcades. Anyways, nice tutorial. It's just unfortunate that arcade dancing at home for experienced players is such an expensive affair.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to make the bar to hold on to then my setup will be complete. I'm gonna try to make it out of wood and see how that goes. Thanks for this great idea. It is way better than some other videos I have seen of just taping the mat to a wood board with packing tape.
I picked up their "tough" pad off a charity seller on eBay for 10 bucks, and happened to have an old chair mat that i havent used in like 10 years. Pad works perfectly but moves, my biggest take aawy here was that I need to get carpet tape. As soon as im over Covid (like... no longer sick, not "im over this shit" ) im gonna hit up home depot and grab some to make this happen
Hey man I just picked up a chair mat today to do something like this, got some helpful ideas and tips from your video thanks! I was going to put construction glue from a caulk gun because I didn't know about carpet tape. For the video I think it would have been helpful to describe what you were doing because I had no idea what all that string was for and looks like hours of sewing for no reason I could determine, I'm still not too sure. I'll also check out the mixes, thanks for mentioning those!
Also about the sewing, I did mention that is for attaching the neon light border to the edge of the ddr pad for an added aesthetic. I did mention these items at the beginning of the video
I don't know how you don't have more comments, you make excellent shows. Dumb question, I don't personally hang out on redit, but do you post there? They have a pretty great gaming zone.
Probably because my channel isn’t a mainstream format; I mean it’s retro gaming + DJ mixes so it’s an odd combo lol! Yep my Reddit profile is Dcep_1501. Thanks for the continued support man!
Hey thanks for watching! I actually got these as a birthday gift in 2005 but I think you can still find them online www.amazon.com/dp/B08DHZFHDX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_T9XJ8PG0SG8AF506THTB
Not 100% sure but i think the first song “Dark Black Forest” is on DDR Max, the second song I don’t remember, and the third song is “Drifting Away” on DDR Max 2.
I don’t know if I would want to spend that much haha. I will do another upgrade to these later on with wood and plexiglass. Thanks for the info, though🙌🏼
