This is a De'Longhi Authentica ETAM 29.620.SB.
After four years of use it developed a leak onto the surface below and was using a lot of water when making coffee and putting it into the drip tray.
Normally you should expect to see approx 20ml of water in the tray after each function, but I was seeing 80-100ml.
There is no service documentation or any technical support from De'longhi so rather than sending the machine to a repairer for over a month, I managed to fix it myself after a thorough cleaning, greasing and reassembly.

Hi Tom, thanks for the video. My machine has the same problem now and will try fix it using your video. Not DIY person so this is going to be a challenge lol, wish me luck. I want to take the opportunity to just replace the solenoid valve while dismantling it, do you know where did you buy yours? Don't want to buy wrong parts.

Hi there, thanks for the great video, I’m halfway through and I’m wondering, at 27:16 you replace the dual filter part back into the top. Inside one of those holes is a spring loaded conical valve. Do you recall if the valve sealed against the filter or down to the chamber as I don’t know what way to put it back as mine fell out. Thanks

Now you're testing me, I think it seals against the cream coloured plastic piece as opposed to the orange. From memory I got it the wrong way around first time and it very obviously didn't work so had to flip it around

Could you please show how you took the grinder out, I'm struggling with the circle pin it has
@ToolTimeWithTom
@ToolTimeWithTom Год назад
Do you mean the plastic cover for the top of the grinder? It's a bit tricky to do, the cap is held to the pin with a C clip with cupped edges. The best way I found to take this off is to use two flat blade screwdrivers, one to steady the clip against the pin, the second to turn to lever the clip from the pin. This should pop the clip off, it will be stiff if it's not come off before

I cant take the piece out. Any other advice? Looks like the screw driver slip all the time. What size screwdriver did you use?

Thanks great video. I have a similar machine, the Eletta. My wife pulled out the container for discharged ground beans and since then coffee just leaks out of the machine rather than the spout. Any ideas on what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

There's a hose that runs from the brewing unit to the nozzle, it's just pressed in, no clips hold it on so perhaps it's been snagged loose or has split, I'd start there!

I have a mystery plastic clip that popped out from around the infuser of this machine somewhere and I can't see where to fit it back. Any chance I can send you a photo of it in case you recognise it?

From memory the only plastic clip on mine holds the steam wand into the body of the machine, all other clips are metal

I've had similar luck repairing mine. Was a bit dizzy watching this and you never seemed to identify where the "leak"was..

Yeah it's a bit of a tricky one, whatever I did seemed to solve the issue for a few months then it was back to its leaky tricks. Ended up replacing the brewing unit and steam solenoid, has been leak free since.

Great video, thanks! About the circlip that did not want to play nicely :) at 14:44... It is well explained in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CswlYHTMjho.html at 3:10. It is a kind of locking cup. Just grab it firmly with pliers and wiggle a bit while pulling upwards.
@ToolTimeWithTom

Thanks, my method now is to stabilise it with one screwdriver, drop another screwdriver in between the pin and the cup and twist, pops right off

Yes, that sounds like a good method! :)@@ToolTimeWithTom
