De'Longhi How To Grind Espresso Coffee KG79 Burr Grinder 

For a machine of it's price, the KG79 is not as bad as it's reviews make out. The simple 'Hack', (it's all over the internet & really simple to do, just involves a piece of cardboard which you use, as a sort of gasket to move the burrs closer together) will get it as fine as flour and you will find you have to come back a little from the 'fine' setting. This works perfect for me on a gaggia classic. The other thing is, have you seen the price 'good grinders' go for? Your talking £400 plus for a good one, so the KG at its price is a good choice for anyone who wont/can't pay silly prices. I don't know why Delonghi don't just admit they got it wrong & make an official washer to do the job.

Has Delonghi made any modification on KG79 to fine grind coffee for espresso

I noticed that she does not show you the coffee grind at the end. I have this grinder and it does not grind fine enough for espresso. I am now having problems with mine, where it is not even grinding as fine as the grinder is supposed to grind. I don't think that it is the burrs getting worn down, because like I said, I have not had it very long and I have not used it that much. I heard that you can adjust the top and bottom burr heads to make it grind finer? I don't want to take it apart and hack it. Anybody know how to adjust it without taking it to pieces?

Just bought this machine. Should have listened to all the reviewers saying that it does not grind fine enough for espresso. It does not! Very disappointing as the machine is good value but useless if you want it for espresso. Delonghi, please listen to all your customers and redesign this product with finer settings!!

how is this machine for grinding spices, black pepper and especially rock salt?

I have trouble securing the top burr onto the main part, it gets very loose when grinding. Anyone knows how to fix it? Thank you.

I have a problem with this, while i repeat all the steps once the machine is turned on what i notice is that the inside knob start to move around. Can you advice

Hi, what setting should I put thr grinder at for a drip coffee?

Am in the process of having my KG79 collected and replaced by Delonghi, after an hour in queue. I use an Aeropress so probably would be looking for somewhere between a fine or medium fine grind, I was recommended fine setting, but have had no luck this grinder does no where near give consistent results in fact it is useless, I have tried varying methods from finer to coarser with different techniques and have to go through 2 cycles to get the beans all the way through. And the noise!!! After the 2nd cycle it is so high pitched and sounds very worrying as there is no grinding at that stage. It is hard to gauge the size of the cup. I go for 1 cup at a time. 1 and a half aeropress scoops as recommended

For 365 what coarse level to use?

I've got an Icona ECO 310 V espresso machine and I've just purchased this KG79 Burr grinder since my old grinder was not satisfactory for me. What I want to ask is, which setting of finesse is optimal for my espresso machine? I know it sometimes differs depending on the type of coffeebeans used but there should be a standard setting when two delonghi products are used.

It was so bad even the demo didn't dare to brew an espresso with the grind.😓

Well purchased the unit.ground the beans on the finest setting..mmm..consistent grind but had the feel of sand...popped it in my gaggia.....6 second extraction of bitter brown water.....had to do the hack that most espresso drinkers recommend..so that's a new unit with an invalid warranty to make it fit for purpose as advertised..Yeah i get machines vary but its advertised as a multi purpose grinder..shouldnt only work on certain coffee machines...should work on all..

the other Delonghi grinder is better than this one..and it’s not even a burr grinder...🤷🏻‍♂️😕
