How can you possibly have an almost 15 minute video reviewing a space heater? Brevity is not our enemy.
@rufdymond
@rufdymond 7 месяцев назад
I have two of these but the larger model, 2500 watts - it saved me last winter here in the U.K. - I live in an apartment that must have one of the most expensive to run heating systems ever, wet (radiators) fully electric system. Last winter on a bad day my electricity bill could be as much a £22 - $28 per day, even on the best days it was around £15 per day. I bought 2 of these heaters and it reduced my bills to around between £5 and £7 per day.

I've had the larger version of this model for about a week and a half and I'm really happy with it. It provides radiant heat to all of my one bedroom plus study apartment (internal spaces combined about 54 square meters) with the heater sitting in the main/largest living room which is open to the kitchen. I have a reverse cycle air con that's 2200-2400W but prefer using the heater hands down. It provides a much more pleasant, consistent warmth throughout my entire apartment and does this quickly so I can turn the settings to low at about a 3 on the thermostat to maintain a comfortable temp. The heater is all-round more cost effective because of this. I have 2 cats too so the safety of the outer casing not getting dangerously hot to touch even on the highest settings is brilliant. I'm yet to use the timer as I wasn't quite sure how to use it. This has been a really helpful review to understand what the features do and how to use them. Thank you. Edit: I forgot to add that I'm in Sydney, Australia where the current temp is between 8 and 18 degrees and will become a few degrees cooler over night as we head into the thick of our Winter.

I have this. I thought of something maybe I'll put eco fan on top to blowing entirely. Also, I wish clock time should have a battery back up as I live in a rural area always power outages for me to reset constantly. This is wonderful for my bedroom as I'm always using woodstovefires in livingroom and took so long to have furnace thermostat reach low to start heating until late morning. This heater is helpful to heating my bedroom while sleeping.

This was excellent even though I have a different model - TRD40820T. You explained better than the instruction manual I have. The model I have (received today - I'm in Ireland) appears to have additional features to yours. It would make my life simpler if you had those, which I'm still working on. It would be nice to know what temps the figures 1 to 6 represent. I thank you for the clear timer explanation.

Hi there yes this tutorial was a great help. Many thanks. I too have literally just received the 40820. I don't want to trip the electric so have set the timer to override & just to feel the effect ( it's warm here today) set the power level to min with thermo 2, I'll gradually increase once colder weather comes. Don't think I'll ever push to max though however chilly it gets. I've had at least 4 Dimplex eco versions over the last 6 years all have now failed . Lots of luck with yours. p.s. Just wish the lead was longer!

This unit is probable better if you have children . But for me i like the exposed radiator fins cause i like to throw wet damp towels,wash cloths ,pants , shirts .to warm them up before putting them on. And i like to just hover over the fins and feel the heat from all sides not just whats coming out of the top
@zephune9506
@zephune9506 5 месяцев назад
The explanation is a bit confusing regarding the thermostat and timer. Firstly does the thermostat tell the temperature of the room or just the radiator. Secondly if thermostat tells temp of room does that mean the heater cycles on and off after dropping temp to get back to the desired temp if timer is not used
@oldschool72

I like my older all metal DeLonghi that heat comes from all sides of the unit. These ones made that are cool to the touch on the sides just do not generate or make use of the heat.

@HelpAtMyHome
@HelpAtMyHome 3 года назад
What sort of sound? The sort of creaking from it being active? That's odd. I'd check that the teeth in the time are fully engaged in the off position. Also the creaky sound can persist for 15 minutes or so after it being off, I believe it's from the convection of the oil inside, not it being on/off.

I'm sorry but energy in must equal energy out in a closed system. The relative efficiency of like appliances is only the human perception of one thing being better than another. Electric heat is inefficient because of the conversion of energy from one form to another and its loss do to long distance transmission. So, we are paying the Power companies for the difference in the energy that they transmit to the energy that we actually consume in our houses. Don't be confused by so-called modern ways to heat a house with electricity. Fifteen hundred watt incandescent light bulbs create about the same amount of heat energy as a fifteen hundred watt oil space heater. The light they produce is only a miniscule part of the energy they produce. I find that maintaining at least 30% humidity inside a house during the winter makes the body feel the warmest in dry cold climates without creating mildew. If you feel cold and dry try filling your bathtub with a couple of inches of hot water.
