Video covers how to setup and use of the controls on a De’Longhi oil filled radiator space heater. Please support my RU-vid channel by purchasing products on my Amazon Storefront: www.amazon.com...
Very helpful video. Too make your video appeal to a larger audience perhaps also give temperature in celsius as few if any countries outside the USA still use Fahrenheit and unless they are quite old the viewer has to convert to Celsius. Keep up the good work.
I don't think people are buying one of these for every room and turning off their central heating. To alter the temp of one room buying one of these is more cost effective than boosting the whole house. Strictly speaking from an energy efficiency standpoint these are just as efficient as central heat, all of the electricity is turned to heat. Cost could be a concern because natural gas central heaters end up being a lot cheaper in most regions just because of how cheap natural gas is.
Hey, so I already have one of these. I got it to review last summer, now that is cold. I just took it out of my closet. I am in a older apt. Does it use so much power that a person running an oxygen machine in the same room, not the same outlet is going to cause the fuse to blow? I haven't had a space heater in years, the last time I had one, an old roomate and I couldn't run ours at the same time, but I am hoping things have changed since them. I know I ultimately will need to find out on my own, but you seem like you might have a handle. @@maxeddis1138
@@manimanibooboo These heaters can pull up to 12.5 Amps on max settings, so definitely can flip a breaker or blow a fuse if other things are plugged into the same circuit
i dont understand the thermostat mode 1-2-3-4-5-6-STAR....i want my heater on max when its turn on...i dont use any other functions....dunno what those numbers set
Thanks for the video. The manual did not explain things very well. I eventually figured it out but the comfort temp I didnt know how that exactly worked. And this video made it very easy. Thanks
Great video! But what was the temperature outdoors when you shot this video? Maybe I missed smth? Just so I have an idea of how much it heats up before getting myself one. Can i raise the temperature within 2 hrs from 44 farenheit to 68 farenheit with this unit of 1500 watts in a 160sqft room? I live in south of Europe. You used this heater alone to heat up all that huge space?
Good questions. We live on the Oregon Coast and average temperature is around 50 degrees. We do have high humidity. My wife has one of these heaters in her office which is about the same size as your room and she can increase the temperature in a room that small quickly. The heater we have in the living/kitchen area (600 sq.ft) takes a number of hours to increase the temperature. It is the only heater we have in the living area, but we do have wall units with fans that we can use to turn up the temperature quickly if needed.
@@Iscaper Thank you so much for your reply. It seems like I will try getting myself one of these down here then. Your "October weather" is similar to our "December/january weather" over here in south of Europe. We have about 44 farenheit as the absolute coldest days over here during the nights but most times it is around 53 farenheit at night. Solid brick walls in the office room I have. Great review btw mate.
@@Winamp_ Thanks for the information. What is the location of the south of Europe are you referring to? Also, if you buy one of the heaters let me know how you like it.
@@Iscaper Im in Malta, but it is the same climate in South of Italy and south of Spain aswell. I bought the Delonghi TRRS0715, the 1500 watt model, down here locally actually. VERY happy with it. For 160sqft room it is perfect if the room got acceptable insulation. I use an electric timer that turns the Oil Radiator on and off in 15 minute intervals to save some electricity. Just using it on the 800Watt setting and level 6 on temperature level in intervals on and off for 12hrs a day basically. That makes it 68 farenheit throughout the entire day on 160sqft. Fantastic product if used with an electric timer in the wall connected to it. Our house is poorly insulated in general, so this is why I use electric timer. When it was 53 farenheit outdoors and heavy winds yesterday I had 68-70 farenheit in my room. (Just as a reference). And im sure that even at 44 farenheit it will be 68 farenheit in my room with it on and off in 15 minute intervals at 800watt setting.
I have a doubt. My child put a coin in the handle's slit/hole. Anyone knows how dangerous is to leave it there or how to remove it? It is a lo g shot but maybe someone has experience XD
Just purchased the DeLonghi heater. Once received, I was a little confused as to how the comfort mode worked but the manual didn't explain it well (in my opinion). Your video, however, was very helpful along with the questions & comments below it. Thank you, Brenda
thank you for this video, does it power off automatically once temperature is reached ? I fear if it continues to heat it would cost me a lot. If it does not power off automatically, how do you use it ? do you leave it on the whole day ?
@@Iscaper what is the point of the three heat settings , (low/medium/high) , if the dial is the thermostat. Is it just a question of taking more or less time to get to temperature?
@@johnmisrahi9922 Yes and good point. My guess is they have the 3 heat settings to accommodate different room sizes. We have a living area with vaulted ceiling that is 600 square feet and we use the heater setting there on high. We also have a heater in an office that is only 120 square feet and we use the heat setting on low in it. I don't think the heater in the living room would heat the room very well if we had the heat setting on low.
I recently purchased this heater, and found this video perfect in informing me how to operate it. So thanks! One comment on the unit: I am a little disappointed with the wheels. I liked the way they looked, but one issue is the hoods dig into my medium-pile carpet, so it doesn’t move as well as I would have anticipated. You seem like a smart person, so if you have any suggestions on alleviating this issue I would appreciate it. Thanks again.
I just purchased the older version (same model #) of this heater an at auction. I plugged it in and it seems to work great . . . takes awhile to heat up . . . but I assume that is pretty normal. My De'Longhi heater does get hot to the touch though! You have to be careful around it after it heats up. Does your do this too? And I assume this was NOT one of the models that was recalled, correct? Thank you for your information!
I have 2 older 1s and they work great. When I move then I hear fluid I'm guessing their oil filled. They looked sealed no where to add fluid so I'm assuming you do not have to add fluid. I am impressed with both of them and how well they work.
Is there any difference between the older and newer models? Can't seem to see any. From what I can see they both turn on automatically when the temperature is too low
Are there any safety precautions I should be aware of? I just moved into a new place and the original owner left it so I don't know very much about it. I would also really appreciate some advice on the oil and how to know if it needs more. Thank you so much for the amazing instructional video!
Heater is not recommended for use in a bathroom, laundry, or outside. Don't place it right next to the wall, 12-18" away is good. It's a sealed unit so you never add oil. I hope this helps.
Is there any chance that it cause fire???I am asking this question because I have saw a video on RU-vid about recall and my one is old version, that's why I am worried 😟😟😟😟
Hello thanks for the video. I've been using mine for roughly a week and i want to use eco mode i press on the button the green light is on "min" and "mid" switches are on and red. The thermostat is set at six but the heater doesn't heat up at all.. It heats pretty good when "eco temp" is off (the green light is off) but when i turn on eco temp it doesn't heat how long do i have to wait for it to heat ?
I don't use Comfort mode because according to the manual: With the “COMFORTEMP” button and both switches pressed, the appliance is automatically set to reach and maintain what is considered to be the comfort temperature. A green light comes on to indicate activation of “COMFOR-TEMP”. In this mode the temperature is automatically set only by the “COMFORTEMP”. To deactivate this mode and return to thermostat operation, press the COMFORTEMP button again. I guess this means the heater determines what the Comfort mode is and automatically sets the temperature. So if you want the temperature higher you have to turn off Comfort mode and use the thermostat dial.
From what I've read the oil filled heaters are more efficient than fan driven heaters. We turn the heat lower in our house and use these heaters in rooms we occupy most.
Hello, does this radiator heat a cold room of 14 square meters? I had a delonghi caldissimo formula one with 8 elements and it heated very well! Do you think this one will do the same considering that the old one had an air heater?
I doubt it. I would guess you'd need 2 of these heaters for a room that size. We have one of these in our living room that is 40' x 24' and we need to use the wall heater with fan to help it out.
