De-tar your car - what to use? Autoglym? 

I use the autoglym on a microfibre cloth and i dab it on the tar spots first, leave until the tar starts running and then with the same cloth buff off, i find this works quite well. Great and amusing video though mate!

Good on ya mate, video helped out a lot as I was close to purchasing the Atoglym, I will proceed to purchase the Bowdens Own Debugger cloth along with using it with petrol, cheers.

Clay bar would have blitzed it, try a medium grade one. The mark yours left showed it wasn’t wet enough.

Make sure the panel is soaked with soapy water or detailer when you clay

Use microfiber cloth and when you wash the car use the 2 bucket method use a wash mitt and wash in straight lines 95% of swerl marks and scratches are caused by improper washing and drying

Hi mate i got some white paint spots on my car probably from road paint work. Will this product work on that ??

dont know how you find the time to wash it when its in the garage being repaired every week.

You should apply the autoglym tar remover with a wet sponge on the paint then leave it for 10-20 minutes before you proceed to clean it with microfiber. You are scratching you car now and leaving swirls on the paint.

Things to note. First, the clay bar is not made for this purpose. Secondly petrol, brake cleaner and wd40 are not made to be used on cars paint. They are not safe for car paint and can damage it. Finally, you should never touch ur car's paint with anything other than a microfiber cloth or towel. A paper towel will mark the clear coat, particularly if you're using it to pick up tar.

Claybar probably never work because you need a solvent to remove that rather than abrasion

Why on earth would you think spraying brake cleaner on your paint is a good idea? If you miss any of that when cleaning it off then it's going to eat away your paint overnight.

Also don’t wash with a sponge

No pressure is needed with a clay bar. Also don't use paper towel, it's abrasive (as is clay). WD40 will leave a residue or film on the surface that's hard to shift, it's also extremely greasy. Autosmart Tardis is what you need. Spray on, wipe off with a clean soft microfiber cloth and rinse before it dries and causes staining. Almost all ways of removing tar will require a solvent which may degrade protection so be mindful of that. Always re-protect the area afterwards.

Dont use petrol it might stain the paint
