I love him in the King of Kings but also in the Searchers where he was a great counterpoint to Wayne's character giving a warm human side to the picture. Died way too young!

I admit, I didn't recognize the name. When I saw Star Trek, then I recognized and remembered him. SAD he was taken from his family at a young age. God bless 🙏🙏

now THAT is a truly sad ending. wow that poor guy with that last tumble down just 3 steps only to slpit his skull open. I really feel bad for him suffering that way. just wow. Also I think without StarTrek, there wouldn't have been a TJHooker. He just wouldn't have been as iconic an actor without StarTrek, ya know what I mean? Another great vid!

All I remember Shatner doing before ST was a couple of Twilight Zone episodes. Wait, he did a film called Incubus, that was filmed entirely in the made-up language Esperanto? How is this not common knowledge? I've only known one person who learned Esperanto, which was designed to be a universal language. Yes, English is the Lingua Franca. Soon it will be Chinese, no doubt.

I lived two doors away from where Jeff and Emily lived. My neighbor learned of his existence when a man from Canada who showed up one day and started filming the property. Neighbor Ed, the homeowner, asked why his driveway was being filmed, and the man told him that Jeff had died there. We all knew that Emily had lived there (along with first husband Robert Lansing) but nothing about Jeff. As neighbor Ed pointed out, the home is a one-story affair, and there are no stairs, but, there are. There is a room at the back that is at step down with about three steps. While there's no record, neighbors had told me that besides Emily, that Ida Lupino had lived on the property and while Ida's website mentions nothing about the address, neighbor Ed did receive mail addressed to Ida after buying the home around 1990. Valley Glen/old Van Nuys history.

When it came to Television, Hunter's wife pulled all the strings and pretty much said, and I'm paraphrasing 'My husband is a 'movie' star, not a TV star' and that ended his potential run on "Star Trek"

Two of my favorite movies are Hell to Eternity and No Man is an Island, both WWII films with Hunter. At the time of his death he lived in Van Nuys, CA, where I also live. I'm doing a search for the exact address, as I'd like to view his home.

I really liked him in The Searchers which was one of the best westerns of that period. He was also great as Jesus in King of Kings and in the Star Trek pilot episode.

I remember him on the pilot movie 🎥 of Star Trek and on another movie that was based on a True Story. That movie 🍿 is called, “No Man Is An Island.” The Story of George Tweed when he hid in the mountains ⛰️ of Guam. The island was occupied by the Japanese. At night he sent messages through a cut out tin canister with a candle 🕯️ in it. He’d sent messages to American ships 🛳️ that were out on the ocean. He got rescued and told the navy captain where the Japanese were at. The island of Guam was freed from Japanese occupation because of George Tweed’s information. Things wouldn’t have been possible if the people from Guam wouldn’t have helped him. In the 1990’s George Tweed was still alive and he would relate his account when he was in Guam and hiding from the Japanese. Jeffery Hunter portrayed the character of George Tweed and the account is based on a true story.

Shows how far concussion protocols have come. I believe the actress Miranda Richardson suffered a similar fate after a nasty ski fall incident. People just didn’t understand how bad even a minor head injury could be and didn’t hospitalize them for observation.

Svengoolie showed The Cage a few years ago. Now if he had stayed in the role of Captain Pike, would Shatner have done T.J. Hooker? It could've been a domino effect.
