god i fucking love this chase music. something about those loud, sharp, and aggressive brass instruments really completes the experience of having a drugged out hobo sprint towards me at mach 5.
The strange wanderer who couldn't escape the fog ends throwing the remaining humanity he has to forget the fog and the entity no matter the cost even hunting the others who wanted to be free from this realm of suffering
I’ll never forget the first time I saw this mans, I came around the corner at Father’s Chapel and saw him pretty far away just standing there with his back to me, then he slowly turns arounds and starts sprinting at me, I haven’t been so scared since Rancor Spirit was chasing me when the last gen popped
First time for me was when I started up DBD after a 3 month break and had no idea who he was or what he could do. I'm in old Crotus Penn Asylum and sitting behind a gen that hadn't been touched to wait and see who it was with this super creepy terror radius. Next minute this hunchback demon thing with orange slime dripping from his head flies past me at 200 km/h. Seriously scared the shit out of me lol.
Someone needs to give the music department a raise. The Blight's music is amazing, it showcases just what he is, a warped, unstable monster. His music sounds like you're being chased by a literal monster, not a deranged human.
Yeah, and the cover art is really impressive as well. It shows the duality not just between Felix and Talbot, but between the intelligent alchemist Talbot Grimes, and the vicious, unrelenting monster Blight. Very well done
@@br0dyj08n9 Give the devs less (programmers) and give the music and graphics design team a raise. Them two fields knock it out of the park quite regularly, it’s just the actual devs who can’t code to save their lives.
Something I noticed music wise is as the killer gets closer the instruments get less and less "human" you could say. Going from low woodwinds to show a sense of ominousness (is that a word?). To violins playing some kind of worrying melody. Finally the chase begins and we see brass instruments playing loudly over any other instrument, revealing that it's no longer a human, just a monster and the Entity's lapdog.
@@Rex-X-Dark i mained nurse and spirit before. Now I am maining blight and I think that blight is better than spirit tbh. Mainly because it requires a bit less intelligence and more mechanical skill. But that my opinion
@@archmagus9000 blight. Please don’t misunderstand me though. They are both hard killers but spirit is more about reading survivor’s movements meanwhile blight is more like nurse.
His camera POV is supposedly a bug they just refuse to fix lmao, the bugged halloween event a month back revealed his feet are just in the ground, so he's lower than intended
@@cakessux5853 Nope. He's easily one of the tallest. If you don't think so, pls pay more attention to him in game. Dude is fucking massive when you're a surv going against him.
This one of my favorite chase music in the game due to how it perfectly replicate the feel of the killer. Blights chase music represents the Human side of Talbot being faded away from the power he wants to learn about, he let his ambition drive him into being obsessed with the pustula flowers and now his mind is corrupted by the thing that takes over the entity's realm once a year. BHVR really puts most of thier work into the design and music.
It makes it even better when going against him, the music compliments him so well. Mix it with the growls and screeches and it really feels like a terrifying force to go up against
@@SHADOWscreepypasta putsula flowers. It’s a type of flower in the Entity’s realm that grows around October. It corrupts the Blight and other Killers as you can see in some of their cosmetics.
No killer's close TR music quite gets the blood pumping like this one, while you stand in a jungle gym, hearing him growl, screech and slam into the walls, like some force of nature.
@@DV-zv4ox alot of people don't know how to play him he's like nurse or spirit hard to get but when you do get him he's god like I main him and do good as long as I don't get genrushed to oblivion
@@XTH3GH0STX ja in a beginners hands who just wanna use his power non-stop he becomes hard to control and inefficient. His cross map pressure is so good, especially with the consecutive speed increase on rushes addons.
The chase music is so haunting. It sounds like the Jaws theme. That deep bass that says "something big is out there, and its coming". It's in your gut and tells you that you need to move. Away. NOW.
Ik right? his main power is using the flowers/liquids that the entity is weak to, imagine how powerful the blight would be if the entity was not restraining him in its dimension
I love how sinister they made Blights theme. It starts off as a sad tune, yet slowly turns into something disturbing as he grows closer, eventually becoming sinister and malicious. Edit: Anyone ever come back to a comment only to find out it has gotten popular? The internet is a weird place, my friends.
Blights no where near evil or sinister hes just forced to kill people because the entity tells him to and the worst part he’s afraid of harming people.
@@schizomani4c he is doing it partially on purpose, all for the promise the Entity made to him, he even says that he'd rip and tear the survivors limb from limb for more nectar.
@@emperorpalpatine373 Yea, but I dont quite understand why he wants more nectar. Is he Addicted to it or does he need it to live or to use his Power? Because it almost seems like he's either addicted to it or he cant live without it. Talbot grimes / Blight isnt really evil, "he was eventually overtaken by his own Ambitions", or like they said once and went too far.
God, this chase music is a masterpiece. It gets my adrenaline pumping, and it perfectly captures how monstrous yet tragic The Blight is. He is an abomination, ruined by his own ambition and the overwhelming desire to surpass human capability. His character is just so goddamn interesting, and I love him.
TBH Blight is one of the best killers who can apply map pressure well and is also very scary even though he's not a stealth killer and I feel like he is underated
I just brought him today and i am so willing. To get the best out of him. He is very very fascinating and also very interesting and also his life story is ~~~~
most killers apply map pressure by using their powers to have threats that reveal survivors, or are able to hit survivors by range, the blight just sprints everywhere and it works beautifully
There is a thing about not nowhing where he is to suddenly see him sprinting at you with a scythe on his hand and then chasing non stop like a force you cannot overcome
( The twins chase theme)I want something more (Changed blight chase theme) I said something more! (Chase themes on all killer like trapper and wraith) Perfection
@@juanmalorenzo56 no, I mean he should have the original chase themes still but have an extra one that fits him and his backstory as an extra that sometimes plays
His chase music makes it clear that he is probably the most dangerous killer of them all. Still i think Dredge has the most intense because its the closest youd get to playing as the entity.
Ion care. This nigga got the best chase music. I fucking hate going against blight with his compound 33 addon but his chase music be having me bopping my head.
Is it just me or does Blights chase theme sound kind of sad, like he's crying out for help on the inside while his body is out of his control. He only tried helping people and was backstabbed by those same people he tried helping. Then his drugs cheated him out of death. So now he's just suffering internally in agony while losing control of his own body. He represents what addiction can lead to. In the moment it makes you feel stronger and more in control, but the more you use it, the more control you give up until you're only a remnant of the person you were. And very rarely can you ever go back. This is why hard drugs are illegal, because they long term effects is a fate worse than death. It's like you've already died, but now you're conscious enough to know that you aren't in control of your own thoughts and body anymore. That's torture. But that's what makes Blight one of my favorite killers of all time.
Or...just fake one way..then go the other Explanation: the blight might be able to rush around like a ping-pong ball but he can't turn well when he's rushing so if you go right, then he goes right...then you can pull a quick left and he won't be able to turn fast enough to hit you I've done it a million times even against good blights
I came back to Dbd a while back, not knowing what new killers had arrived, and i went in blind as survivor and saw this monstrosity charge straight at me, it really scared the crap out of me to see how speraticly he bounced around, and i had no idea what the hell i was looking at.
This is genuinely one of, if not my favorite chase music in DbD, maybe even better than my boy Albert, because this shit PERFECTLY encapsulates the feeling and the character into a short but intense melody. There are few killers in the game that genuinely make me feel tense and nervous in chase, and this is one of them, the background brass racks up this feeling of uneasiness, and gets you in the mindset of “there is a monster juice junkie with AD/HD sprinting toward me from 8 feet away” The string instruments have a sound of terror to them, but also a tinge of tragedy depending on who you ask. Both are representations of what Talbot was to how he is, a bright mind turned to a walking cooch for a mouth. Lastly the lead brass is nothing short of perfection, always to me sounding like the uncovering of some sort of mystery. In a way, that is blight, a mystery who solved too many mysteries, most of all the canker plants and his serum.
I'm so glad they did this! It was so hard to tell how close he was before, aside from the heartbeat... (and also the fact he's a lightbulb) The new music actually *sounds* like he's close, so that's cool Also, thank you for uploading this!
When dbd incorporates good themes for their killers and when the killers themselves are genuinely intense to go against is when the gameplay shines. The music encapsulates the constant back and forth of each side trying to outsmart the other with the winners being who does it faster.
This gives me some minor outlast vibes. The string instruments in the back and what sounds like a tuba reminds me of exploring the asylum, finding some lore and then getting my head ripped off by Chris Walker.
Cool fact about the blight serum as an item for killers during an event:trapper when using the blight rush from the add on syringe could run over traps without getting stunned, instead immediately disarming them with no effect on him.
This is what I'd consider the last truly exceptional, perhaps even perfect chase theme in DbD so far, it has the quality of the vanilla chase themes but also has the personality that comes with exclusive killer chase themes, giving it a best of both ideas and execution
@@confusedravioli2556 Very true XD when going for the adept blight achievement I kept getting the backwater swamp and I couldn’t fucking see through the grass 🥴
Its because hes very hard to play as, his tier in the meta currently stands at S tier along with Nurse and spirit. Its a high skill cap/ high reward killer so many players stuggle to use him, players just use Whats easy like huntress or 1 shot killers like myers/ghostface. Blight is a good character but you will have to take many loses to get better with him.
Hot take, the new music releases are fine, ppl just need to stop overly criticizing them as if they understand basic composition. They're made to be intense, and while it's valid to make constructive complaints over **MINOR** details, players are making it turn worse by making the composer water them down.
@@franciscoaguilar2597 You know its bad when an artist who wrote minimal techno (published to vinyl BTW) believes this. There's a difference between "raw and stripped down" and "an obnoxious 1/4th bar loop".
I knew something was off about his chase music, I couldn’t quite tell because every Blight I went against never took long to find or catch up to me before a chase.
If only you could ever hear anything outside of his far terror radius or chase music ever. He's either far away on someone else or sprinting right at you and you go from no terror radius to chase music in mere moments. Never even heard the rest of his terror radius, which is a shame because it is really good!
You usually notice it the most when you're stealthing a patrolling Blight or just being too close to one that's already looping another survivor. I still genuinely believe he has *THE* most ominous distant Terror Radius when you first hear it.
