@@The_Nocturnal_Raven Pyramid Head manages to knock down Bill, but as he picks him up he gets blinded by a flashlight from Laurie Strode while Stranger Things' Steve vault loops nearby. Pyramid Head: What fresh hell is this?!!!
Pyramid Head is rather...unique when compared to the other killers. For the most part, the Entity has recruited those with a defined past; be it innocent people who were twisted into the monsters they are now, deranged souls who acquired power to further spread their evil, or even creatures originating from dimension far beyond human comprehension. Pyramid Head is different though. He has no past, no former alias to shed light on what he is now. He is a concept brought to life. The physical personification of pain, torture and punishment. When James Sunderland stepped into Silent Hill, the guilt and remorse of his dark crimes took form in the Executioner wielding the Great Knife. Even when James finally left, Pyramid Head's influence remained, permanently staining Silent Hill. So much so that future visitors of the lost town would claim sightings of a grotesque figure with a large geometric head slowly dragging what appeared to be a large rusted knife. And thus became the legacy of Pyramid Head. A pastless monster endlessly wandering the streets of Silent Hill in search of new victims, inflicting great amounts of pain and death so that they may find atonement. But now he is in the Realm of the Entity. Death is not an escape and thus atonement will never be gained. The Executioner's punishment will last for *eternity.*
Is that actually the explanation for him? He became a thing for everyone because james was so messed up pyramid head became part of silent hill permanently?
It was mostly that he constantly came back just because the higher-ups wanted Pyramid Head to be an icon of the games and just shove him in for fanservice, completely going against the symbolism established with James. Which sucks because your explanation here is so great that I wish it was canon.
@@dr.dripton Some guy??? My Good man... That "Some guy" has a name... and it Akira Yamaoka.... and you will do well to properly address him as such, for he Was in charge of ALL the Silent Hill Music.
@@jamesvega6813 dude not everyone grew up with silent hill there were many legends around the time that games started blowing up if I can't remember his name then too bad.
Because penny him self is an entity that is even stronger than our entity so if we gonna talk about the lore itis almost impossible for him to fit in the game

I love that you can hear Pyramid Head dragging its giant knife in this. Too bad it's not something you can hear when playing as him or being chased by him, though.
You actually can, specially when he attacks. Although it is quite low and you have to be near him to hear it. Hopefully they will add it in the public release
@@LiunUK oh, yhea! You're right! I was testing Cheryl and PH with a friend yesterday and actually i only heard the sword really loud when we were in the exit gates of the new map! I should play him in other maps to test that
Spunky Monkey me too I’m glad he’s in dbd I can’t believe they actually did it still suprises me to this day also he is super scary and awesome aswell and I love silent hill

"In my restless dreams, I see that town. Silent Hill. You promised me you'd take me there again someday. But you never did. Well, I'm alone there now... In our 'special place'... Waiting for you... Waiting for you to come to see me. But you never do. And so I wait, wrapped in my cocoon of pain and loneliness. I know I've done a terrible thing to you. Something you'll never forgive me for. I wish I could change that, but I can't. I feel so pathetic and ugly laying here, waiting for you... Every day I stare up at the cracks in the ceiling and all I can think about is how unfair it all is... The doctor came today. He told me I could go home for a short stay. It’s not that I'm getting better. It’s just that this may be my last chance... I think you know what I mean... Even so, I'm glad to be coming home. I've missed you terribly. But I'm afraid, James. I'm afraid you don't really want me to come home. Whenever you come see me, I can tell how hard it is on you... I don't know if you hate me or pity me... Or maybe I just disgust you... I'm sorry about that. When I first learned that I was going to die, I just didn't want to accept it. I was so angry all the time and I struck out at everyone I loved most. Especially you, James. That's why I understand if you do hate me. But I want you to know this, James. I'll always love you. Even though our life together had to end like this, I still wouldn't trade it for the world. We had some wonderful years together. Well, this letter has gone on too long, so I'll say goodbye. I told the nurse to give this to you after I'm gone. That means that as you read this, I'm already dead. I can't tell you to remember me, but I can't bear for you to forget me. These last few years since I became ill... I'm so sorry for what I did to you, did to us... You've given me so much and I haven't been able to return a single thing. That's why I want you to live for yourself now. Do what's best for you, James. James... You made me happy." - Mary Sunderland. And Ik this quote is probably used a lot but it means a lot to me along with the fact that this chapter is a real thing. I’m honestly trying to hold back tears of happiness.
I shed a tear reading this. 2020 was the worst year for dbd but at least we got the Executioner, James, Lisa, Maria and Cheryl. If they ever going to rework or buff perks i hope those two are going to get love. It's thanks to Dead by Daylight if i'm a fan of horror genre, i really would like to play Silent hill
Quick breakdown of why this sound itself is so true to Silent Hill. The obvious part is that, to my knowledge, Akira Yamaoka himself was involved in this. Yamaoka often leans towards either grating industrial sounds or a beautiful, mysterious melody layered with several other melodies. Sometimes he'll do just a straight-up rock song, but there's not really any of that here. This song, while mostly following the path of arpeggiated chords and multiple variations of a core melody, throws in a steady backing beat that sounds like industrial machinery, something not dissimilar to Devil's Laughter from the Shattered Memories OST or Terror in the Depths of the Fog from Silent Hill 2. Yamaoka often will reuse a melody in a slightly different form across multiple soundtracks. The arpeggio backing the melody is similar to the one behind the mandolin tremolo in the original Silent Hill's main theme, while the main motif borrows from a melody heard in Silent Hill 2's Theme of Laura and repeated more prominently in Theme of Laura (Reprise). The string tremolo that accompanies the industrial beat is similar to SH1's mandolin intro, but that might not be intentional. Most directly is the faint violin melody heard at 0:12. This violin melody is a recurring aspect of the Silent Hill soundtrack, occurring at least once in every game. It's in SH1's main theme, SH2's Theme of Laura behind the motif mentioned earlier, and it's a guitar solo in SH3's I Want Love, SH4's Your Rain, and Shattered Memories' Hell Frozen Rain.
This is my favorite version of the DBD theme. From what I've heard, the music for this chapter was composed by Akira Yamaoka himself so that explains why it's so good.
People will say "Oh, Theme of Laura!" but that little melody is older than that theme. Listen to the first game's ;) I love that they combined elements from the first 3 games including the sign from the movie
I originally wanted either Pennywise or Candyman but when this was revealed I honestly thought it was a joke. I've never played any of the Silent Hill games and I never planned to, but after playing around as the new killer I realized how amazing he was. His power, his animations, his horror, it made him perfect for Dead by Daylight. I can't wait for him to reach live servers so I can really play him and Cheryll.
Silent Hill is awesome though, if you ever get the chance to play any of the first four games in the franchise, you really should!! Or if you enjoy watching other people's gameplay, then I recommend that too (since it's a bit difficult to get these games nowadays).
@@doomfishmain5154 I remember how many hours I played in SH1 though. The Midwich Elementary School was one of my favourite location in the game with Alchemilla Hospital and Nowhere 😢 Sad that they didn't add a roof and boiler room in the map though...
Pyramid head is a theme that both makes me feel relaxed with its light tones but then gives me feelings of hopelessness when the screams and the doors shutting start coming in. 10/10 best theme in the game
i didn't spam to skip, i said it once, rethought how much effort they were putting in, said ehh i don't like it but i will respect them and left and waited for the reveal of the trailer on the channel. People didn't need to be that inconsiderate.
0:00 The theme starts and continues with a big lower beat just like his footsteps, dragging a huge blade that makes him to walk slower. 0:44 It’s like his huge knife screeching the ground
Just another fool watch someone just be making a generator then when they run away from a killer approaching them they run into a random door, only to be fooled when they realize there’s a dog on a switch board
Is it just me or they really captured the Silent Hill 2 vibes with the music? It sounds hopeless, frightning, depressive, but at the same time it sounds epic, it gives you motivation and hope to live another day in this torturous world (I'm looking at you "Promise (Reprise) lol). Well done BHVR for this amazing music
Aww yeah! Now we are talking! In comparision to last themes of previous chapters this one is literally taken aback! I love the pieces of legendary Silent Hill musics included!

Never heard a theme more fitting to a character until now. A manifestation of your guilt and punishment having a theme like this… This really suits Pyramid Head like no other.
He isnt actually too much op considering that urban evasion pretty much completely makes his torment power useless when not in a chase, but his range attack is actually very hard to use and not even that op, its like demogorgon lunge attack.
@@Black_chinese_monster Demogorgon and Pyramid Head are balanced killers. Not overpowered, but not underpowered. Fun to play, yet able to be played against without being salty. It takes a killer main with some skill to work them, but they aren't killers who are hard to use for newbies. And these are two licensed killers who don't suck while being true to their source material.
Midwich may be one of the most badly gameplay designed maps in the game, but damn I'm so happy DBD remained very faithful to Silent Hill. Much more faithful than Konami is. This chapter is the best Silent Hill content the fandom has gotten in a long while. Even the music feels faithful, only because DBD reached out to Akira Yamaoka to make music for this chapter. Akira Yamaoka for those not in the know is the music composer for most of the original Silent Hill games.
@@jlol2701 you took the words right out of my mouth. I can't even play Silent Hill 2 on my 360 anymore, the screen just goes black. And then the other games are near impossible to find, except for Homecoming and Downpour.
Personally I never got involved with Silent Hill except watching some videos and enjoying them, but horror games/movies is something I appreciate a lot. When I opened and heard this song, I could literally stay all the day hearing. Even being just a song and the menu characterized, you get so involved with it and you can feel the dark and stifling athmosphere it passes. This just amazing and I'm glad this game is taking such big steps and working well. Also thanks for keeping this video to history.
It's so surreal watching Nancy wheeler from stranger things try and heal James Sunderland on haddonfield while ghostface is stalking them around a corner. I love dead by daylight
I love the use of sounds the metal scraps the screeching then what sounds like banging on a wire fence. Really solidifies that this is a silent hill theme
The one standout thing I loved about Silent Hill Music, was the mechanical thumps keeping tempo, it felt like it was playing the musicof the town, lending to its visual aesthetic with matching audio.
Holy shit i want to cry... The first note of this theme has brought back so many memories: past friends, old times, the scaredy cat i was back then and how i want even that to return, how i want to feel the fear of playing every match, how much i cared about my old mates and how much fun we had. Now that's all gone... all my friends have abandoned the game, leaving me all by myself. Each time i hear this music i want to sit and reminiscent, even though it makes me cry every single god damn time.
