if there's one thing i seriously appreciate about the Knight as a killer, it's the noise he makes. His heavy footsteps are absolutely intimidating when they're approaching you, and you feel so powerful when you're playing as him- just a stomping, clattering beast, who doesn't need to hide from his foes, because nothing can stand against him
Straight up facts. The sense of domination and superiority the knight has with those metal footsteps are easily one of the best, both playing as him and against. His lunging voice is also dope.
The terror radius sounds like the prelude to a brutal, bloody battle. The chase itself tells you that you've just come face-to-face with the one guy you never, ever want to meet on the battlefield.
I think it’s like a church bell, it would make sense in lore that his company was feared throughout the land. So if they were approaching, the bell would the be noise to tell everyone to hide or run
The fact that the music "team" is one guy and consistently nails this aspect of the game better than the actual programmers is nuts. If the balance teams were half as good as Michael April we'd have a perfect multiplayer game.
This chase music is incomplete without the carnifex’s roar, the assassin’s thrill of excitement and the jailer’s maniacal laugh when chasing you and lastly, The Knight’s clanking footseps behind you.
The part at 3:08 is great because it’s usually when either the chase music will start up again or if not it’s around the time where you hear the sound of the banner when you’re a survivor
“I warned you! But did you listen to me? Oh no, you knew it all, didn’t you? Oh it’s just a harmless little bunny isn’t it? Well, it’s always the same, I always-“ “Oh Shut up” “Do they listen to me? Oh no” “Right, CHARGE!”3:00
The team who deals with the music for the killers and DBD in general are leagues ahead of the actual programmers, I swear. They make such good bangers. 2:00 and 3:00 are really good.
Agreed! I used to listen to all of Oni's terror radius themes EXCEPT the chase cuz thats trash. But I love all of The Knight's themes, even the chase. Even tho it truly isnt as good as the 8m.
This theme is so masterful and amazing. All the build up is foreshadowing this evil and unstoppable force approaching you with nothing but horrible intentions. All you can do is turn and run in the hope of avoiding whatever monstrous entity is attempting to find you. And the chase is absolutely the most haunting part. It’s not a fast paced beat to pace yourself with, nor is it the track of a chase fit for a killer. This theme is different. You hear bells chiming and drums of war beating as you run for your life, growing more and more panicked as the clanging of iron and heavy armor approaches you with every footstep.
No hate but I genuinely feel like the team that takes care of the in game musics for killers and all in dbd are on a whole new level compared to the others teams (cosmetics,in game mechanics ect...)
some people call the knights chase theme garbage but it’s suiting for him the 8 meters and 20 meters sound like trumpets being played good’ ole medieval there in the chase the hammer sound effect truly makes it up for this whole sentence a medieval knight that can summon his bois to help him. its also faint, the drums assist the faint effect of the theme. the organs add the sense of dread and hopelessness. *gets palleted as knight* tis but a scratch
Terror from the midievel. The knight is a cool and terrifying killer. He's heavily armored and has his 3 faithful follower's. That song suits him very well for a knight from the midievel era.
and how would it look like as legion? Should the other legions come out of franks ass? That would look silly. The Knight and the ghost AI makes more sense
@@nerionzanear7814 I bursted out laughing at your comment! I couldn't agree more honestly. Having this power with Legion just wouldn't make sense because the other Legion members would just appear out of thin air. Plus, the name still suits with their lore.
@@aydanmeilahn6951 I honestly don’t even know why they called him legion. You can only have one of them in a game at a time! May as well called him “the Big Mac” since that makes more sense than “the legion”
This guy is actually Hungarian. His name is Tarhos Kovács. I never heard the name Tarhos before but I have friends with the last name Kovács. Its a big deal for me :D
I don’t like it, it personally makes me think I’m running after a chicken with trouble seeing rather than a knight who has killed a lot of people chasing me.
I was expecting something a lot more historically accurate, but I like how it seems to more encompass the feeling that you are about to fight/are fighting a hopeless battle.
I love this theme entirely but from 1:00 to 2:00 bit idk why I just love this so much! Even in-game I try to be on the terror radius (charging a pebble) to keep hearing LOL
Yeah its sound more powerful and keeps you on edge but the chase is more quiet. I suppose they do this thinking on the killer player because they have to listen survivors while the song is playing
Layer 1: A Normal day in a village in the fog of war. Mysterious, Dangerous and an expectance of death, but overall, people are doing the normal things in their lifes. Fear is there, but hope is there too. A Foggy day as usual, coming from the soot and ashes that roam from the metal bucket of smithing Layer 2: An Expectancy of death increases, something odd is happening, you can't see it. But it is there like a rhythmic tick of sound. We have to look into this and settle up reinforcements one by one. Layer 3: A Raid, Screams of terror and figthing increases, your village is under attack, Men, Women and Children are running and crying in random locations, we have to prepare! Ready your armour and weapons, soldiers. We have to defend at all cost. Layer 4: Danger danger! Ring the bells of war! Fight, Defend, Attack! The Bandits have come! They came to steal and kill all of us, We have to fight at all cost! Blood, Sweat and Tears! Cry out! A being is there, more skilled than us. It fights in an unusual yet formidable stance. It fights as if it already knows its going to win. Clad in dangerously heavy yet well kept armour and a sword cracked yet still useable, it slowly trods to us, willing for a fight, it finds us somewhat worthy. Its a Knight. The Knight. His friends follow as they glimmer in a ghastly greenish hue of fog. This isn't normal, this Knight knows magic, The Necromancy! Cheater! Witch! Its useless, we cannot win this! Retreat, Run! Run while you still can in this fog of war!
It really captures the feeling of not only are you being hunted by the one guy you do not wanna cross on the battlefield, but also his loyal soldiers who are filled with just as much hate as he is
This is the part where you are now facing the one person you do not wanna cross on the battlefield. It’s usually around the time when a guard is on you and the flag horn has just sounded
*Vittorio Toscano draws his sword and approaches the Knight. A furious fight now starts lasting about fifteen seconds at which point Vittorio delivers a mighty blow which completely severs the Knight’s left arm at the shoulder. Vittorio steps back triumphantly.* Vittorio: Now stand aside worthy adversary. Knight(Glancing at his shoulder): 'Tis but a scratch.” Vittorio: A scratch? Your arm’s off. Knight: No, it isn’t. Vittorio (Pointing to the arm on ground): Well, what’s that then? Knight: I’ve had worse. Vittorio: You’re a liar. Knight: Come on you pansy! *Another ten seconds furious fighting till Vittorio chops the Knight’s other arm off, also at the shoulder. The arm plus sword, lies on the ground.* Vittorio: Victory is mine. (sinking to his knees) I thank thee O Lord that in thy …” Knight: Come on then. Vittorio: What? *He kicks Vittorio hard on the side of the helmet. Vittorio gets up still holding his sword. The Knight comes after him kicking.* Vittorio: You are indeed brave Sir Knight, but the fight is mine. Knight: Had enough? Vittorio: You stupid bastard. You haven’t got any arms left. Knight: Course I have. Vittorio: Look! Knight: What! Just a flesh wound. (kicks Vittorio) Vittorio: Stop that. Knight (kicking him): Had enough … ?” Vittorio: I’ll have your leg. *He is kicked.* Vittorio: Right! *The Knight kicks him again and Vittorio chops his leg off. The Knight keeps his balance with difficulty.* Knight: I’ll do you for that. Vittorio: You’ll what …? Knight: Come here. Vittorio: What are you going to do - bleed on me? Knight: I'm invincible! Vittorio: You’re a looney. Knight: The Knight always triumphs. Have at you! *Vittorio takes his last leg off. The Knight’s body lands upright.* Knight: All right, we’ll call it a draw.
The metallic screeching and effects from the 8 meter need to stay during the chase, I don’t think there’s enough going on in it and it takes away from the unnerving feel
I agree, the lobby theme mainly, don't get me wrong, the entire sound part of the chapter is amazing, but I feel it's not something I would expect coming from a medieval knight, Chase's music at least still gives me a medieval feeling for account of the characteristic bell sounds, but the rest of terror radious doesn't give me that vibe...
Wouldnt that be boring, in this case its good if they change it a little to NOT make it medieval, that makes it more interesting for me if they pull something like this off. I think this is the most badass theme in the game
I have no clue why, but the 8m is my favorite part. It's almost like screaming, like you're in a village that's being ransacked and burned to the ground.
The banging of metal and the intense drums of the actual chase theme are so God dang cool. I wish the character was a little better though because a lot of the community dislikes him and it's just sad cause the concept of a killer *knight* is so freaking cool. Even if most don't like his character in game, his design and music are so good. Edit: Well I don't think he's the worst to most now that skull merchant has come out lol, that's where all the hate went
They don't hate him that much anymore bc he got buffed now he's a pretty good killer but not an overpowered one, his guards make me feel like I'm playing a stealth game that has something to do with hiding from something besides the killer themselves
They hate TriGen Knight because understandable reasons, but personally I gotten compliments from survs with my playstyle. I run Lethal Pursuer, Eruption, Pain Res and BBQ.
First time i heard/was against this dude, my whole team was wiped out. Ever since ive held a quote that i think fits him well "I hate you, but if i dont respect you, i die."
Remember that this is raw audio without transition unlike the game which has a fade-in swell. Alot of the chase music videos you can find have *that* problem, but otherwise sound better in the game. The chase track itself aside is very eh compared to the 8m track, and it is easily getting changed without a doubt.
Idk if anyone would agree with this but I feel like pyramid head would fit well with the chase theme bc it sounds ancient enough to be like pyramid heads theme
Sounds awesome, but Layer 2 and 3 sound like seperate music pieces as well as the chase layer itself. They need to change it a bit so that it all sounds like its from the same song imo.
@@Papa_Emeritus_IV yeah it did and I feel like ever since ghosty got a bad terror radius at first, the whole community has started bitching about every single new killer's chase theme/terror radius
@@lostwoodsstudios8270 I never found a problem with ghosty's old one tbh, it was more haunting. Imo I hope they don't change the music for live servers from PTB servers, because I'm still butthurt about Pyramid Head's music change lol
This isn't very representative of how it sounds in-game. When a killer draws closer, the music transitions by fading into each other until the louder one dominates.
This has the same issue with other recent ones. Great build-up in the beginning but then it veers off into completely separate tracks and many of the previous layers disappear. Oni has a perfect terror radius because the intensity is built up so well and each and every layer is kept.
after the ghostface incident, the dbd fans must’ve whined too much about chase music so now these new themes are more tame with less instruments ( knight and hag )
