I will see Dead Can Dance in May...waited so many years. They are the only band I can listen to whilst still reading my fantasy novells and not get distracted. In fact, they help to enhance the experience so much, an emotional avalanche
Love Dead Can Dance, been a fan for many years. Brendan's & Lisa's voices are pure majestic beauty. Make sure to check out Brendan Perry's solo albums Eye of the Hunter (1999), Ark (2010) & Songs of Disenchantment (Music from the Greek Underground)[2020]. Lisa Gerrard has been involved in a wide range of projects along with her solo stuff. Lisa sings in English & in idioglossia as well. They're both amazing vocalists & songwriters.

Dead Can Dance are one of the most iconic alternative bands ever - and with 2 world class vocalists in Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard,you are guaranteed of something special. If you had seen Brendan back in his punk rock days in New Zealand with the Scavengers and Marching Girls,you wouldn't recognize his vocals. As for Lisa,there are no words to describe her vocal histrionics. For a better perspective of how unearthly they are,listen to Dead Can Dance "The Host Of Seraphim" or Lisa Gerrard and Pieter Bourke "Sacrifice" and you'll be blown away.
As lovely as the mountain is its more of a Brendan Perry project than a true DCD project. DCD were pioneers back in the 80’s and 90’s stating off as a post punk band before spawning the whole neoclassical/neomedieval genre with their four absolutely spellbinding albums Spleen and ideal, within the realm of a dying sun, the serpents egg, and Aion. Lisa Gerrard has also had a very successful solo career and has worked on many soundtracks, the most notable being Gladiator. Quite a few metal bands have covered Dead Can dance’s late 80’s output, Paradise lost spring to mind! Go check out their earlier stuff, particularly where Lisa takes main vocal duties. By the way the Ethnic sounding vocals in the mountain were actually samples! Lisa had very little input on its parent album Dionysus!
Concerning DCD covers, there's the 2004 album, Tribute To Dead Can Dance: The Lotus Eaters (Black Lotus Records/Season of Mist). A bunch of artists covering 26 DCD songs.
