When I listen to dead can dance I feel like I'm touching God. Like I'm transcending this world. I don't know why more people aren't into this its fucking wicked. I can't even believe a band like this exists. Lisa Gerrard can create such hauntingly indescribably beautiful vocals. I don't know what language they're in. Or if it even is a language. Maybe it's the language of the spirits. That's what it feels like, like shes speaking a language that connects you with the spirits.
Guys, the joy of all the DCD vocals is that, when not understandable, are Glossolalia, sound paintings from the Greek/Turkish influences of Lisa’s upbringing in Melbourne, Australia. The listener can interpret them as they want. My interpretation of Cantara even unnerves me!
the lasr dead can dance record Anastasis is dedicated to the greek music tradition as well as some pre-christian pagan practises tha occured mainly in Eleysina and Delphi. An ode to Greece by probably the best group ever set foot on earth.ANASTASIS MY FRIENDS
I disagree. I think they are very goth and are very much what the goth subculture truly represents. Mysterious magical breathtaking hauntingly beautiful and dark light music.
Goth·ic (gthk) adj. 1. a. Of or relating to the Goths or their language. b. Germanic; Teutonic. 2. Of or relating to the Middle Ages; medieval. No offense Johan but to say DCD is not Gothic is like saying Bach wasn't classical!
Well they're very popular in the goth subculture they embody some elements of what goth music is. Dark siren songs that are mysterious and hauntingly beautiful.
