The reason why you need to go through Time Keeper to reach Dracula is because in the Castlevania games, you need to go through the clock tower to reach the Master's Keep
@@IanSmith-sf5ro Great reference but it got in the way of gameplay, imo. It'd be cool to be able to fight both bosses in the same run. Edit: my bad, you guys are talking about clock tower, not that you can't fight both Death and Dracula in the same run.
@@Ecliptor.well from when v35 os going to release now you can fight both bosses from rtc dlc. Actually because of routing you can visit all dlcs in the same run
Little advice: When bank appears as a 5th depth level, it has the highest gear level in the game (as cavern is here), BUT, If a mimic appears, It drops 2 tier higher weapon/skill than one you wanted to buy (so instead of XII, YOU CAN GET XIV TIER GEAR), which can lead to much higher dps than going to Clock Tower/Sepulcher instead of bank.
Prison Depths and Corrupted Prison are worth waaaayy more than just a single scroll 1. Cursed Chest may contain a good weapon that you can use with any scroll type 2. Extra food and money 3. Rare chance of a scroll piece spawning 4. Most importantly of all, challenge rifts. So that extra detour through these biomes can give you two extra scrolls plus a good amulet That’s why I never go to Caslte Outskirts, it’s not worth it, you’re giving up way too much by not having access to the extra biomes
I also go there to practice my use of slow heavy weapons like on survival, the slammers are probably the hardest enemies to fight with a slow swinging weapon so its really good to try fighting them
Once you get used to the enemies in Slumbering Sanctuary, it becomes a breeze! I've gone through this biome so many times that it's safer for me to go there than to the Graveyard. I only go to Graveyard if I had a poor boss fight or poor biome clear and had to use a potion. And still, for me it's easier to get hit in Graveyard than Slumbering Sanctuary, so most of the time it's not worth the ammount of gold I use to get a health flask + food.

I with they would do things that would encourage 5 bc players to go to places like Ramparts and Ossuary. Incentivized biomes are great, but they dont really help much on 5bc where money and cells aren't really a thing you need. It would be cool if they gave extra scrolls or legendaries randomly (and maybe show them on the overall map) so you can check early to see if you want to go to them. Either that or increase rewards for them. It might be cool for them to have a teleport/warp zone type thing that could shove players to random areas too. That way you have to see maps you never go to. I also wish they would increase the size of stilt again. It used to be much bigger.
They DID for me, New DLC + Legendary rework made it so that going to Concierge for a free legendary + FS for another one, then heading clock tower and drastle is an insanely cool route that makes you see 2-3, sometimes 4 legendaries in one run, which is not only quite strong, but a LOT of fun
@@sebastianzarek7056 Yeah, I go to concierge sometimes for the free legendary too. Maybe when they upgrade all the weapons it will be even better. I still want more reasons to go to the Ossuary and Promenade though. I haven't been to either in years.
@@sebastianzarek7056 i like going to the sepulcher after fractured shrines. Im currently on 3BSC and those mummies can be annoying i don't really had much problems there, however with Baseball bat build it is very easy.
I personally think heavier weapons struggle against phase 2 Death, especially the very slow ones. The four scythes are quite the pain with a slow weapon
Your ability to deal with scythes is basically the same as your ability to deal with bats, so that's always how I approach it when making a build for Death.
@@theviralmelon I can see why but I have an infinitely easier time dealing with bats than I do the scythes lol. Probably because the scythes do contact damage while I can just roll around bats and take my time with them.
@@specialthanksyou601 In terms of items, not strategies. Certain items let you kill bats near-instantly very easily, that's what I'm talking about here.
- 5:05 I actually do this quite often, not because it gives particularly good items but just because shops offer far more item options and control than random drops do and you don't often start with a build that will go very far. If I'm running off-color weapons in the first biome and don't find a replacement for the second, I will often purchase one from the shop. - One thing I at least take into account is how many shops a biome has -- for example, on 1bc+, Arboretum and Coutskirts have 3 shops and PotC has 2, while Toxic Sewers only has one, and if I'm really struggling to get a build going or I'm fishing for a specific item I'll often go Arboretum early for that benefit. - I'll have to disagree that you should go to Prison Depths _every_ run. Often your build won't be very good by the time you get to it, and if its not, the high-health enemies can really build up. You may lose a scroll, but if your build isn't faring too well, skipping it is still a lot better than dying. - 12:33 because biomes with guaranteed cursed chests hide one of their scrolls within said cursed chests, I would definitely say a guaranteed curse is a downside, not an upside. Colorless weapons and, uh, Alienation I guess can be useful but I would say on average a biome with no cursed chest is preferable over another hypothetical biome that's identical in every way except with a guaranteed cursed chest. - I will sometimes go to Concierge if I think my odds of nohitting him are significantly higher than for the other three bosses, as that guaranteed legendary can be quite useful. Still, it's a rare occurrence. - It's worth noting that Time Keeper is much easier with some form of shield. If you're good enough at fighting her, it won't matter significantly, but for most people that'll greatly affect the amount of damage you're likely to take from her. She also has the lowest health, which is compensated on melee builds by her frequent teleportations away from you, but ranged builds can shred her easily because of this. Any build can beat her, yes, but... - I'd honestly say Scarecrow is much more of the "all-rounder" boss once you're used to fighting him. None of the three colors suffer particularly against him once you know his openings, and he's one of the most predictable bosses once you know what you're doing. You don't need a shield (especially now that his melee attacks no longer get parried twice), nor a ranged weapon, nor any kind of AoE or anything to do just fine against Scarecrow, all you need really is to be good at fighting him. Pretty much the only thing that'll struggle against him is Stun, which he's fully immune to. - Giant is slow, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's good for slow weapons. A lot of them struggle a ton at hitting him (Oven Axe against him is absolutely miserable), and without proper burst damage, the fight becomes a war of attrition that he usually wins. While he's on average the best boss to go to, I'd say, you need to think carefully about it because the wrong build against him will lead to a 20-minute slog ending in your death. - Indeed, the late Drastle curse can be soul-crushing to fail. There's no shame in skipping it if you need; 15% less damage is better than being dead. - 31:09 Should be noted that this isn't just from the biome you would have gone to otherwise, but from ALL biomes of that depth. So if you take Bank on stage 2 over Promenade, you will not only see Runners there, but also Thornies from Arboretum, Scorpions from the sewers, ec. - 32:16 Also, if Bank is slotted to replace the depth 2.5 biomes and you don't go to either of them, it will still show up in place of the depth 3 biomes. - Your optimal route isn't wrong, though I do disagree with the concept of an "optimal route" at all on principle (and I also don't enjoy having too much damage by the endgame because it trivializes things too much for my tastes). It's still something less experienced players should pay attention to, of course, but I will say that you should prioritize your ability to be alive over having 2 extra scroll fragments -- if you're not confident you can beat a specific biome, don't go there, even if it may be "optimal." This is why Graveyard is in the route instead of Sanctuary. Additionally, if you truly want to maximize your damage, it's best NOT to skip Castle (or whichever of its contemporaries) as skipping will deprive you of two additional scroll fragments; if you've followed this route up to that point, those two fragments will indeed be enough to get you an additional scroll. In any case, great video. Glad it turned out so well.
ViralMelon As always with his pro tips, What I'm doing too is going to bank on 5th depth biomes Every Single Time it appears (Wishing that A mimic appears and gives me XIV weapons just for the sake of it). Going there instead of CorruptedP/Pdepths is fine too, when you're low on health and your build is a mess, those 3 shops + food shop might save your ass
@Sebastian Żarek It is helpful that bank has a food shop even in levels that aren't supposed to have one. However, the poorly-scaled enemies might result in you being in worse shape, especially if you replace CP/PD
Yo. Thanks. I was waiting for this. Good tips 👍 also I just realized I'm a "pro player". Anyway, I love your content and this is my apriciation post ❤. Keep doing what you do best.
Fun fact: if you are on 4/5 bc, go to the bank when it’s offered instead of the cavern, get a mimic from buying a weapon and kill it, the weapon will be level 14
I would go to Ancient Sewers if the tentacle enemies would be more visible while they are in the ground 😬. Since they aren't, I just go to Ramparts after Corrupted Prison as my optimal route and don't skip the biome to the final boss, while everything else stays the same with the videos optimal route. This will end me up with 24 scroll fragments = 6 scrolls. The optimale route in the video ends up with 25 since you skip the last biome. If you don't skip the last biome, you will end up with 27 scroll fragments which still end up rewarding 6 scrolls. The only way to get 7 scrolls out of the optimal route is by being lucky and finding one of the 3 random scroll fragments or going to the slumbering sanctuary, which definitly is not worth if for me ☠. At the end I still end up switching routes and go to other biomes for variety and fun. Thanks for the video. It's always fun to watch Dead Cells content, especially if the videos have such a good quality 👍❤.
I'm stuck on 3BC currently and I was wondering if you've done a video on knowing when to upgrade your gear or save it for the shops. Often my gear from earlier biomes has synergy I like but is lower quality and I end up rerolling it's affects too much and run out of gold Also as someone who doesn't like shields, how do you deal with the fast charging enemies? I suck at partying and it's not fun to just wait for an enemy to hit you but I struggle so much with the black wolves and the green claw guys since they rush at me way too fast
For the first problem, you can deal with it over time as you start filling up the legendary forge to increase the base item rarity, however, saving your gold is still vital to the early game and it is best if you don't spend all of it to reroll weapon affixes at least until before the first boss encounter. Try getting the 30 and 60 kill doors as much as possible to get some better tier items which may also benefit your current synergy. For the shield problem, you can try playing Survival with the Armadillo Pack and put a shield in the bag for some safety. If this isn't an option for you, practice timing your rolls as it has a decent amount of s to prevent damage but has a somewhat higher skill ceiling. Fast-attacking weapons can also deal with them relatively well. If you're playing Brutality, the Melee mutation is also a great way to prevent enemies from getting off their combos. Also, try out shields if possible, they're really useful.
You can stun those claw zombies, or make them look stupid with rolling behind them, and when they turn rolling behind them again. Also like person above me said, armadillopack and shield in backpack makes them absolute joke.
Dead Cells is not the only game that takes advantage of biome choice, in fact the first is probably Castlevania Rondo of Blood, the game that introduces Richter
Gotta love these videos! Thank you for these Videos, they really helped me play smarter in my runs! I also love the music you use! Faster Than light, Persona 5 and Muse dash? You´ve got some great taste!
Fractured Shrines is usually a must-pick for me. Getting to choose between 3 legendaries is just awesome. And after going through it a few times, you get good at the platforming and trap dodging! There was a time when I'd skip the cursed chest in that biome, but I always grab it now. It's rare that I get hit by some random trap at this point. And it still has the food shop!
Hope they will give more incentive to go to biomes like Promenade, Ramparts ( I like those 2 but they are not rewarding enough ), Ossuary ( not rewarding and not fun ), Distillery ( is there any reason to go here except getting blueprints? ). Fractured Shrines got revitalised with legendary rework, that gives me hope for other zones as well.
Instead of the unvisited biome bonus I feel like they should instead add a scroll fragment/s or maybe a curse chest so players with all the important stuff unlocked would actually want to go there
A request to hear your opinion. After killing the giant. Should I go to hand of the king or high peak. And what should I consider when I make this choise
After you kill the giant and collect all of the loot, if you have 2 or 3 scroll fragments left over you should go to castle because castle (on 5bc at least) gives 2 scroll fragments and will allow you to get an extra scroll when compared to going straight to Hand of the king.
A minor note, you can often perfect the concierge, which means you can get a very strong weapon after the fight which might make it worth it if your build has not been fully made or if you are willing to pivot
I wish, the in game map would carry the same amount of information that the one on the wiki does. I hate using an external source for that. It's not like that information is secret or something. It's just unnecessary IMHO that I have to learn which biom has A amount of scrolls. Once I have played the biom, why not include that information in the official in-game biom map?
Another great video as always! I watched your previous biome guide, but never really knew what to do when the bank appeared. I also appreciated the fact that you kept lower boss cells in mind for us less experienced players. Hopefully I'll be able to use this information to finally beat 2bc and unlock scroll fragments!
Honestly the ramparts aren’t even that bad even on 5bc especially if you really don’t like fighting conjunctivius, I’ve gone to ramparts plenty of times and still gotten wins on the spoiler boss. The other biomes are def better if you’re min-maxing tho
A Biomes Guide is exactly what i need right now. Im new this game since the castlevania dlc came out and i finished my 4th boss cell run. Now im overask which biomes should i line up for a good run. thank you so much for your content Pseychie ❤
Hey @pseychie, I just want to say thank you for your content. This game and your guides have helped me. It's been a difficult year. I appreciate your content.
Note on 4+BC: Sanctuary's extra scroll fragment over Graveyard is actually significant since it's enough on the Sewer-Cavern route to give an extra scroll in High Peak.
I dont get why is Slumbering considered by the comunity that challenging, sure there are some harder enemies but the layout is very nice and you get a head start on enemies waking up which in most cases allows you to kill them before they get to attack. I find Village much much harder
About never going to Concierge-I guess that assumes that the player consistently no-hits it, no? I am at 3BC and struggle with that, and can take big hits at the other bosses.
nice Video and this video i found really helpful for because im still new in dead cells. Question for all the dead cells fans outhere do you controller or PC? for me personally i use PC. Let me know yalls opinions on PC:)
i go to morasse of the baniched for mushroom boi the biome is hard but with frost blast is easy . . . not that easy but you can freez ennemies and run or destroy them with assasian blad from back or any fast weapon
You get 2 scrolls for taking the shortcut, and if your already at the point where you easily can kill THK there is no point going through another biome
The highest scroll count you can get in the hotk boss is through the route but, WARNING THIS ROUTE IS VERY HARD AND TAKES PATIENCE. Prisoners quarters - Toxic sewers - Corrupted prison - Ancient sewers - Insufferable crypt - Slumbering sanctuary - Cavern - Guardian's haven - High peak castle - throne room Also use damned aspect if you want and for maximum scroll count. go on 5BC and get lucky with cursed chests and challenge rifts
Thank you for the guide. I had been looking forward to it since you first mentioned it a month ago in the Castlevania video. Please allow me one nitpick though .... I know "min-max" sounds cool but I think you are over/mis-using it. E.g. 10:24, "I you want to MAXIMIZE your damage output, Ramparts is not a good choice". Not "if you want to MIN-MAX" it, which just doesn't make sense, at least to me.
Just look for the biomes that are double money and cells on BC5, unless you're trying to go a specific route or trying to get a specific blueprint. I just go to every one, save my money and cells, then buy whatever drops or when the Cell-forge shows up near the final leg pump all the cells into getting better starting gear. Near the end you can have 500 to 700 cells easy. I'm almost at 100% S rated start gear. Or just play on BC4 and loop a few times to save up cells because they carry over after beating the Hand. Rinse, repeat, then pump the cells into whatever you want.
Hey Pseychie, I'm really struggling with the speed boost on chain kill mechanic, it's getting me killed constantly, and conversely, I can't think of a single instance where I've been grateful for having it. It really throws off the rhythm of my gameplay to get these sporadic massive increases to how fast I run and how far I roll. Can you recommend any mods or settings to compensate for the speed boost, or outright remove it?
I found Bank in the transition to High Peak Castle today! It contains 2 Scrolls of Power (1 in a cursed chest), 2 Dual Scrolls and 2 Fragments! So it copies the stats of HPC/Distillery and not Shipwreck. I would guess that stage 3 bank (with the Castlevania biome) will copy the stats of Ancient Sewers and not Dracula's Castle, but more testing is required.
the one thing I hate about it is if I have a curse on me and I need to kill like 100 mobs in the later game lets say Fractured Shrine, I always have the remaining curse kill count on me ... and the next biome is a boss room .. that is the most annoying thing I have come across its like.. I don't know if to stack the curse on me without knowing if it has enough mobs to clear the curse... I am not good with flawlessly killing a boss room and I DO NOT carry a shield its not my playstyle... now I have to fight either clock tower or giant boss are incredibly hard for me to fight without getting hit
Is the undying shores enemy variety thing a recent thing or was it always there because when it first came out it didnt have that i think can be a console thing but now i play on pc and i noticed it
Giant can technically be stunned, so baseball bat is great damage on him. Stun grenade works on his popped out eyes so any baseball bat run I go giant cus he just evaporates
Yesterday i was trying out that build, and it really makes giant kind of a joke. Also, armadillopack can deflec triangle and shots behind that triangle in one of his shot patterns.
