That was one hell of a show! Johnny B. Goode brought down the house. JM's playing has meshed beautifully since the Halloween show. Can't wait to get back in the groove for New Years.

When I first said that John would be great fit for this gig a lot of people didn't agree I think his style of play fits and that makes the music New and exciting for a deadhead like me I hope they keep on playing together!!!

I listened to soundboards from the Fare Thee Well shows and I didn't 'get there' much, they weren't a bad band but they didn't seem in the groove as much as I had anticipated. Trey did a good job but it wasn't really uplifting, in comparison these shows are really in the groove and properly 'out there' in the musical space and the atmosphere, John Mayer is a much better fit than Anastasio because his style fits better, and this band is definitely getting better and better! It's quite exciting to hear that improvement in such a short time, this is a little musician magic happening for us (how wonderful) and I'm looking forward to hearing more. I think the slow tempo treatments are a nice change, respectful, soulful sometimes, and providing a lot more space for the less experienced musicians to play in, it certainly works for me. Good ol' Grateful Dead, yes? I rather think so ... and if Little Feat can do it after losing a master guitarist, then these guys surely can ;)

CR, i see your point. However, my Dead Head friend took me to the show...my first Dead experience. Personally, I believe JM helped to pull the boys along to greater heights. My friend was correct...Rick, you just have to "experience the show for your self." In my mind, i am still there.

Deal on 1:02:54 was my favorite song.

I love John Mayer scaling this wall pretty masterfully. He did not conform, rather he and the Dead have both successfully transformed. What a blessing from God it is. Heaven meets heaven. Amen❤‍🔥❤‍🔥❤‍🔥

You can't argue with this Althea. JC decorates it nicely with the piano, then JM rips his solo, and Oteil rattles the rafters with his thunderous baseline! This sounds like a much smaller venue than the MSG and other arenae.

Running changes n.1 "Untitled 1" from 2012/13 (John Mayer jam) would now fit very well with the Dead's sound !

I loved that little reggae-esque ending on Deal. it would be interesting if they would develop that idea a bit more.

I came here because I met a 30 man tonight who told me this show made him a dead head. Funny how one dead show can change your life. I went to Hampton in 87 and never been the same.
