Doesnt even matter if it has good gore tho DI2 is probably the worse triple a title because of its short and boring story and repetitive gameplay, i don't care if they had a short schedule with new devs on the project, it isn't a triple a game its more like a indie dev title.
@@mechaishida7588literally the hard mode is the canon difficulty of the story. since the outbreak only started 4 weeks before crane landed in harran. So if you are there in reality, you going to expect that there are still freshly infected people (viral) that can still run with a little humanity left in them
@@christbenitez8797 Yes, indeed, it’s good to have some perspective on the circumstances; I do feel that Hard Mode reflects the reality of such a scenario that Crane found himself in. I’ve often wondered (quite randomly) how a prequel to DL1 would work, just prior to and during the first phase of the outbreak; possibly, like a Resident Evil spinoff, with a handful of playable characters (Brecken, Jade, Rais) in different scenarios.
@@mechaishida7588 DL1 plot can be retcon into the resident evil universe since the GRE(a global corpor) had the cure for the harran virus, but choose not to mass manufacture it and instead created a vaccine that suppress the virus effects on people that newly biten for a few days. The GRE wanted the samples from a bolter and a volatile so they can make a B.O.W (bio organic weapon) out of it and the cure for it. Is only available for the highest bidder. Like the T-virus from the first and second RE game. It can be contain since the anti virus is already there but yet again... umbrella Corp refuse to distribute to civilians and it's only available for umbrella personnel and racoon city is one Giant test lab built and funded by Spencer to test the lethality and effectiveness of the virus.
@@KaraTheGirlie I enjoyed my time in Dead Island 2 but it doesn't have anywhere close to the replayability that Dying Light has. I think the physics and movement system really sells it.
@@henkstoomflat8840 Wholeheartedly agree. It's a miracle we even got the game. It was in development hell for a long time, so I wasn't expecting a banger of a story.
Free to Play Games on mobile phone are cheap to produce and give the owner a lot of money. Since 2016 the free to Play marcet on apps Are exploding. Its the Point
I've just started playing Dying Light 2 and I have to say I feel like it's more of a successor to Dead Island 1 than Dead Island 2 was. Playing through it makes me feel like a kid again playing Dead Island 1 for the first time.
IM SAYING. Everyone dogging on DL2 obviously never prpperly appriciated Techlands older titles. Di and riptide will forever hold a special place in my heart.
I think to this day that Dying Light was the best zombie game ever made. If Dead Island 2 had a seamless open-ish world LA and had a bit more gameplay mechanics, then DI2 would have it beat. But there's something about DL2 that hits that nostalgia spot. It's the music, combined with where I was in life, plus the world and the parkour system was so fresh for a zombie game. It turned into the quintessential zombie game to me.
@@pizzabathehutt yeah, around 4 to 5 kg, but your legs probably 30kg on their own, either way youre likely to fall flat as your weight distribution is quite even
@@manuelurquiza7546you know why drunk people fall on their heads right? that's just like zombies, if they fall forwards, backwars, etc. they don't have enough reaction time and reflex to get their hands up. they're zombies. this is not wwz where the zombies are basically superhuman.
Dead Island 2 is best, when a nade blows up in any other game predefined limbs fly off, in DI2 random chunks of flesh will disappear and char !!! Like you could blow a hole a zombies chest and it’ll still walk around 😭
@@ExtremeHardcoreGamerThey didn’t do it because they were ‘scared’ around every update they’re doing is for the fan base. Dead Island 2 is way easier with the fact that you become overpowered, meanwhile DL2 you aren’t ever truly safe you can die at any level. Di2 had 10 years to perfect itself and there’s still much left to be desired in the game, in fact most side quests (things that aren’t supposed to be more interesting than the story) is somehow more interesting than the main story. On top of all this the zombies aren’t even attracted to sound, DL2 you toss a bomb or shoot that little makeshift gun Virals well attack and chase you. Meanwhile Di2 you get guns, explosives, etc. and you don’t even attract any zombies. In fact the only way to attract zombies in Di2 is through car alarms and screamers. L4D-L4D2 games that weren’t worked on for around a decade have better zombie mechanics than Di2 - you know the thing Di2 was bragging about focusing on? Speaking of which they then throwed some shade at DL2 meanwhile DL2 was posting kind stuff about them.
Dying light 2 phyisics are only fucked if you try to move while being in between multiple zombies or on top of them. You will feel stuck and not being able to move. Bigger zombies in dying light 2 can also trap you when they bodyslam you but this is maybe intentional.
eh, maybe i'm blinded by nostalgia but i miss the serious tone and realistic combat of the first game. dont get me wrong. i love the gore of the second one. but they tank hits, the game can't decide on pacing, theres no risk so therefore no reward, zombies feel too light. and you never actually struggle. (except when a corpse just eats 20 blows to the skull)
@@godlesspothead6258 I just played thru DL, DL2 and DI for the first time and in all of those games you are pretty much overpowered... In all 3 games you are given a starting weapon and you immediatly go to town on zombies and they offer pretty much no real danger. You'd need to be especially bad at FPS to really hit a wall in these games (in DI you even get knocked down as a cool down for your stamina in which time no zombie can hit you) . The only thing that could get you are the semi-bosses and the occasional suicider behind the corner... Take Resident evil 2 remake as a counter. You start at a gas station where you have a set amount of bullets to deal with the first zombie. If you fuck up, there's geniune panic, but when you succeed you feel like you really achieved something... Don't get me wrong, DL, DL2, DI and probably DI2 are great games, but they are more like Doom Eternal great than scary... They have their place in gaming 👍
@@-Yurkey yea, i feel like ganes should be challenging so its super rewarding. take hotline miami for example a lot of times you will think "fuck im not gonna beat this level ever" try 6 er 7 more times and you finally get it. that surge of dopamine hits you. dead island 2 i feel is more for a casual gamer, they dont want a big challenge after work, school, etc, so they pop in dead island and get instant gratifaction in forms of little useless components, weapons everywhere, and zombies that honestly, are pretty fun to kill. but i prefer challenging games.
Di2 is by far the worst in the franchise, name one good thing about it besides the gore. Dead island and Riptide are IMO (and everyone elses in my family) better in every way than DI2, even dispite its bugs and glitches, and had a pretty good, grounded, realistic story. Even my grandfather hasnt touched that steaming garbage di2 since launch, and he'll play absolutely anything.
Used to love DL1 some days i would just farm items so I'd stand on top of a car and stomped everything to death for about half an hour when i finally got down there were about a few hundred pickups
exactly, its like comparing a swiss army knife to a kitchen knife on cutting ability. obviously the kitchen knife cuts better, but the point of the swiss army is it has multiple uses and therefore judging it solely on how it cuts isnt fair.
Much as i wanna agree, yall gotta stop getting blinded by nostalgia. I preordered and own ALL versions of the games, Riptide was FAR better than DI1, and DL2 was still great right at launch, and most people complaining were being as nitpicky as possible, bitching abt tbe story, etc. (Which even compared to DI and DI:R, DL isn't that good:/) Dead Island 2 I dont even consider part of the series, only thing comnecting DI2 to the rest is Sam B.
@spacez5963 I've recently played dead island one again, modding weapons is much better. The combat settings on "analogue" makes the game much better so you can direct attacks. Dead island 1 and 2 are connected by the story so your opinion doesn't change fact
@spacez5963 also I replayed dead island 1 like 10 times, whereas I was fully done with dead island 2 from one playthrough and I had 0 reason to replay it
Not really a good comparison. Even in Dying light 1 melee weapons were still the focus, shit you didn’t even get a gun till like halfway through the game. Cod is completely based around gunplay, dying light’s gameplay is and has been focused on melee. Not saying the no guns thing is good but that definitely isn’t the right comparison
No? The parkour is not the main focus of either, especially 1 (though 2 is argueable). Yall forget that all these games except DI2 are made by the same people, with the main idea of them all being a zombie killing playground.
Techland doesn't get enough love for being some of the first devs to really perfect layer damage back in 2015. The devs tested multiple weapons on ballistic gel dummies to better develop the feel, impact, and type of damage that can be done to a body which is why dying light 1 felt as good as it did.
Dead island 2 in my opinion has the best representation of an actual small explosion from a throwable, not too much explosive mainly shrapnel leaving them mangled and ripped to shreds while tossing limbs. Its very unlikely a grenade will look like a fuel drum explosion sending whole corpses flying due to sheer force and shrapnel.
if a clicker is charging you, the best thing you can do is run away to get some distance and if you have a melee weapon you can actually hit the clickers without dying
I love dead island 2 because you can free roam in that game and the worst part is where you try and fight a zombie all by yourself the runners get involved
