What I love about her themes is that each bring a different facet of her personality. Blazed Up conveys her raw grief, undeniable will to fight for justice and unfortunate fate in a twisted yet graceful manner. Blood Tie reveals Helena's gradual descent into coldness, brutality and aloofness whilst remaining determined and full of elegance. Solitary Desperation embodies Helena's despair and sorrow mixed with a newfound ruthlessness given what happened to her family and her claim to power as CEO of DOATEC while preserving her icy, ethereal, menacing beauty and unflinchingly kind manners/demeanor to everyone.
Wow, they really did go off on this theme especially at the part 0:51 Either way, I like this more than her DOA 2 theme only because this theme actually represents what she is now in DOA 3. She confronted Christie and realized that Christie is the one that killed her mother but Christie stated she was supposed to kill Helena but her mother stepped in and took the bullet. Now, Helena has a chance to avenge for her Mother's death by killing Christie. This theme is almost like a Redemption theme.
I thought that she learned that fact in DOA4. Christie here mainly reveals she is an assassin that was meant to watch over Helena until it was time to kill her. It's what makes Helena's last battle in four so important and heartbreaking as she now knows who killed her mother, thus reaching the climax of her arc. I even feel that solitary desperation was made for that specific battle
The girl was fighting for her life and this song embodied it. I loved Christie and Helena characters on this game and played them the most. Christie more so 😅
Side not unrelated to Helena but I REALLY wished Marie Rose got a new theme in 6 or just an extra theme in 5 that had the same level of darkness and danger to the sound similarly to Helena’s Blood tie or Christie’s Monster track. Just listening to this music brings back memories sure but makes me realise that Doa used to just have characters that were dark even to the simple things like tracks. To give the listener a certain feeling to relate to the character at that point of the story. Bloody Nocturne is fine, it’s cute and theatrical for a vampire masquerade feel and fun for her but truly I just want Marie to embody danger despite the cute appearance.
This theme specifically is for Helena. Its a redemption theme knowing that Christie is the one that killed her mother. Christie was there all along and Helena realized she was the killer along. Dead or Alive 2 for helena had the best stage but for the best song its clearly DOA 3
