It's a good case to demonstrate it until you remember all the cases of innocent people murdered by the death penalty and that Bradley wouldn't have been able to murder anyone if they hadn't let him be part of the work release program. We need better screening and profiling of criminals to determine who should be given privileges while in prison, not more state-sanctioned killing of innocent people.
@jimr9499
@jimr9499 3 года назад
The logic really makes no sense. First and foremost, no criminal _ever_ has thought, "hm, I could get the death penalty for this...lemme not". The death penalty's value as a deterrent is literally zero. Secondly, anyone with any common sense can see that it is a much worse punishment to suffer the entire rest of one's life in prison than it is to simply be given the quick and relatively painless release of death. And finally and most importantly, of course, the points all these others have so eloquently made: all of the innocent people who are sentenced to death. So, really, there is not a single good argument in my estimation for keeping the death penalty.

Yeahbut why fuel the death cult? Look back at the 1930s and 40s when there were tons of executions. It became part of criminal chic and was put into movies with Humphrey Bogart and Jimmy Cagney. This is how the gangster became idolized, by their connection with violent death. If a criminal just sits in prison and spins their life away in boredom, it's a lot less glamorous. In fact, many criminals ask to be executed. Why grant their wishes? That's not punishment.

Yes, aside of the ambition to modify negative attitudes and behaviours it also provides valuable knowledge for profiling. People have often common traits even with some variation and criminals have it too. When I was in the MARINES We went on an all expenses paid vacation on a navy boat for 6 months. We stopped in about 10 countries. One guy in our platoon was a big talker. He knew everything. Couldn’t tell the guy anything. Then we get back to the USA and he disappears from the platoon. I asked the Sgt where is he ? Sgt said he got arrested for bad checks in every port

@Patricia Boyd your thinking is flawed, and is the reason that the U.S. has such an abysmal recidivism rate. Look into European prisons where it's based upon rehabilitation rather than just a small-minded punitive approach. They have infinitely more privileges there, and their system is statistically and factually, infinitely more successful.

There is an episode of Dragnet in which a man impersonating a forest ranger. He was picked up for having checks and credit cards on his possession. He was invited to lectures wearing a uniform of the United States Forest Service. He would do his lecture then afterwards, they have a reception in which they have coffee and donuts, a buffet luncheon and during the course, he would pick pockets with the credit cards and was using them at hotels, restaurants, etc. I have a neighbor who is a retired United States Secret Service agent. He is employed with Wells Fargo Bank and they deal a lot with credit and debit card fraud. He has this job to supplement his Secret Service pension..

In 1976 till 197 9 the Ocala State School in Florida held women who were around 14 young ladies and they scared us straight by taking us to law when it's prison and loving a seat what happens to people when they let their lives spiral out of the way that we should normally live. These women were incarcerated some of them were in college which really upset me to think they gave him college after the crimes they told us they did and why they were in law as it might be said we were scared straight or at least I was and yet my life spiraled for quite a long time when I was 19 I married a man much older than me and that began the process of me understanding there's a very big difference I've always understood that since Ocala but it implicated that it's true even more so why the Lord Jesus has spared me I don't know as I've told many people we don't know for the grace God Walk if I why criminals do what they do God bless the show

And as I said I feel like Joyce Meyers that I try so hard to tell other people about Christ but my past seems to try to catch up with me I don't need to go into it because you know or perhaps will find out who Joyce has to Joyce Meyers is. She knows what it is to be unlike not wanting to be with that person because they don't want to step beyond the line but that's okay too a lot of Christians end up in a place they don't know why they're there to try to help those around them I will I before I die want to read the community that I know of from child molestation trafficking young children and young girls who don't have a chance who have already gotten themselves in trouble I was fortunate enough to go to Southern Dr Joseph Sunny Joseph was the best psychiatrist and I had him for 10 years to try it helped me to function normally was an adult we have all become victims of something rather in some cases not all but unfortunately for me for the grace God walketh by I was able to keep the faith
