I'll be honest... I've never EVER heard of Dead Sara before. 10 years after the posting of this video clip online I happily checked it out! I'm here because of Need For Speed: Most Wanted (recently played this). And in my opinion... this is my personal fav, and if not, THE greatest song on the soundtrack! I'm already a fan of Dead Sara and this is the only song I know, lol. This was a masterpiece! Look forward to checking out more material from the band! Thank you for the song! 🙂

The song is about a movement called "weather underground" (has a wikipedia article with that name), and "the weatherman" is a guy called Bill Ayers (has a wikipedia page explaining what's what). It's very interesting to listen to the song again after reading those two articles, when everything perfectly fits together.
This song came on during one of my races in Need For Speed Most Wanted. When I realized the epicness of this song I went to my Zonda's top speed and emptied my nitro. But it wasn't enough. I had to go faster to honour this song. I crashed into other racers and approached 2nd place but it wasn't enough. "NEED MORE FAST!!!!!" I shouted at the screen. That was one of the most glorious races I'd experienced in that game.

Reading the lyrics to this song it seems like it's about soldiers...veterans mainly. I sort of alludes to people following orders and killing the enemy, and then when their tour of duty is up they are tossed aside and forgotten. Plus there is a US Special Operations Force nicknamed "Weathermen" (USAF Special Operations Weather Technicians), they are the guys that play a key role in most major combat operations, not just making sure the weather is right, but they go on dangerous recon missions themselves, but the public never hears about them. That's just my view on what this song means- I think it's about soldiers following orders and killing for their country, and if they don't it's unpatriotic, and when they do, they are tossed aside and forgotten about when their tour of duty is up or they become casualties.
I've actually never thought about this, with the "Weathermen" being used for military operations. I always thought of it as a means to tell a kid to go for his dreams and let no one get in the way. With, "No son of Sam will ever let you in, to turn against." This part of the song could mean a way to tell the kid that people of America have a great sense of nationalism (not saying it's a bad thing) and they will protect what they love about America, with "Sam" being "Uncle Sam". The weathermen was an organization to hinder the U.S government, it started in the mid 1960's with the organization's opposition to the Vietnam War. And, The part where she sings about the voice of reason could be that some wars just offer a lot of needless killing and violence. I dunno, I just gotta strong vibe about the organization, needless to say, this is a great song!
