Would love for you to make a video for those of us without a table saw or planer. Nothing is dead simple when you don't have a shop full of "basic" woodworking tools.
@yuvals6201
@yuvals6201 7 месяцев назад
I agree. So many DIY videos on RU-vid should start with: Step 1: Have a spacious garage or work area that can fit a table saw Step 2: Get a table saw delivered and assembled in the work area Some of us live in a small apartment on the 5th floor, and don't have the money for a private workshop with a saw table. Hence the DIY search for easy frames we can build at home...

Why is every diy channel I watch on RU-vid got a full workshop with every tool imaginable

I try to look at in a positive way, even if the creator tells us that it's not intended for amateurs like us. It's another challenge to overcome, and it feels good when we do it. But I feel you. I have a very low budget. No way I can afford a $2,000.00 jointer. Gotta wonder why he makes a video to save a few bucks on a frame, and also says he's targeting woodworkers who can afford expensive, professional specialty tools and who can also easily afford high quality pre-made frames. Doesn't make sense to me. But I still appreciate his knowledge and tips, and I'll find a way to do it well without a big shop and high-end tools worth many thousands of dollars.

@lmaoroflcopter
@lmaoroflcopter 4 года назад
@@Tikorous imagine a woodworker needing to follow a "dead simple" walkthrough. Target audience is everything. I'm a diy-er not a woodworker and would be unable to follow this "dead simple" but not so simple walkthrough. I have a circular saw, I have a jigsaw, I have a hand plane. I have a mitre jig I can use a handsaw in. I do not have a table saw, I do not have a jointer, I do not have whatever a "points gun" is. I haven't got the room or inclination to make special jigs ahead of time for something advertised as "dead simple" nor do I have any clue wtf is meant by a "spline jig". If you have to make special jigs for a project, that's not dead simple. That's actually a complex project as it requires you to do sub-projects just to complete the parent project.
