I always feel torn on this question, and I don't think there's a straightforward formulaic answer that can apply to everything generally. On the one hand, I really feel like the game should be played. Speed is all fine and good but sometimes it just gets way too outrageous with the clips and the restarts and the out-of-boundses. But he's also not doing anything the game didn't allow him to do. So I guess he is playing the game? In many major games, the community tracks seperate categories of runs: any% runs, 100% runs, glitchless runs, and no out-of-bounds runs.
@@8BitNESExploitspoint of speedrunning is to get from main menu to end credits as quickly as possible, it's all that matters. It's not for story or showcasing everything game has, people can go watch longplays or better yet, play the game themselves for that. I got so tired of some dictating how speedrun "should" look like.

I just beat the game on impossible in 7 hrs & 30 minutes. Then I watched this dude do it with no upgrades and going through areas I didn’t know existed… 14 years and I’m still getting played by dead space 😂😂😂😂

have you done impossible with only the plasma cutter yet? gets intense at points but once you're damage, health and stasis charges are maxed it gets a lot more manageable
Of course they never had a chance in the first room. One guy is dead silent and the other is point blank shooting a wall. Issac really didn't have much of a chance
Love this game, played it many times, thought I was good. Then I watched this. Very impressive. Wonder if you can pulse boost with pad or only on keyboard? will need to experiment on my next playthrough.
So far as I’m aware the pulse boost tricks only work on pc because it involves unbinding keyboard controls and uncapping your frame rate so that the game ticks your collision more times during the secondary fire animation

I mean it could look and play a whole lot better, as someone who just played and beat the game for the first time it is very rough around the edges, fun! but a remake could do a lot of good

Man when i turn off vsync the games has a lot of bugs like isaac running slower and gravity is foked how do u not have them? I have an amd graphics card
This shit is so ridiculous, lol. How do these people even find or know what spot to glitch/teleport you to another location? this must take some months or years of playing, doing many random stuff to find such glitches.
